Yes, NJ does have open carry. But be prepared for everyone to call the cops on you if you are openly carrying. This is not Kentucky or Alabama or even Texas... and even in those places people get the cops called on them.
The ONLY saving grace for OC in NJ is that if you are printing you don't have to worry about becoming a felon.

I wouldn’t doubt it. GFH likely qualified some friends and family first and had them submit before the whole thing went public, to iron out the process.

Not everyone who thinks they can pass are passing
Good point but unless you’re a novice I don’t see how? I saw one guy who looks like he blasted a shotgun at his target and he passed. Yes I guess some are so horrid they won’t pass but I guess I have more faith in people than is reality

They’re making up their own. There is no standard form.

GFH $150 non members, $125 members, one gun. Two guns $200 non members $150 members.

He said he couldn’t know. But he will approve ASAP and the delays will be after it leaves Trenton. They don’t want to be bogged down with this.

Your PD supplies it when you drop off the application. NJSP has one format but local PD is different. Ask them.

Dropped off at SP Sussex today. Sgt looked over everything, made some copies then said that after the prints and mental health come back it goes to Trenton for approval then to the judge in Sussex county court. He also said it’s out of his hands…
the contributor case number is name and date and is not critical. But that’s only for NJSP. Local PD will be different.
Now the wait begins.

White black, brown etc

Makes sense since they're gearing up for the start of the school year.

2 minutes ago, CJack said:So the NJSP is the one that forwards the to the Judge ? and one day NJSP contacts you and says your carry permit is here ? Who actually prints / makes the the actual physical permit ?
Depending on the type of armed guard, it will go through NJSP. Armored car apply direct to NJSP.

I have no idea whether or not that is true. [added} That was in response to a claim that in some cases applications without the raised notary imprint were being rejected on that basis.
If so they are possibly violating NJ law. NJ does not require notaries to do anything but sign and witness the signature. Any stamps, raised or foil seals are extra and not even standard practice or prescribed under NJ law. I am a bank notary and all I ever do is sign. I have a stamp just to make it official but it isn't required.

Looks suspect but there are some truths and non truths.
NJ notaries aren’t issued anything other than their commission certificate. We can get a stamp and a raised seal on our own but it’s not required by NJ.
”One qual to rule them all” aligns with NJ statutes. No need to qual with multiple guns or a specific gun.

I was told today by a friend who is a retired superior court judge that the courts simply don’t have the manpower for this. To begin with they have a shortage of judges to handle criminal cases which take top priority and civil cases (which these are) fall at a lower priority. So I suspect we may be waiting a while or something will have to give.

As of now as you could probably guess I’m just trying to sort out what they actually require. Going for broke here, is the range qualification the certification? So are you suggesting something like an NRA Pistol Cert is just an add-on? Thanks for your help
AFAIK just the range qual. This can always change, but from what I was told it’s the qual.
What did armed guards and other permit to carry holders submit in the past? Those requirements shouldn’t have changed.

Sure about that? I was told it's the 4 digit code (like what's in your state tax return) and not the ORI. Which does beg the question - what do non residents put?

That was my point of an similar post....at least Colandro is charging a fair and equitable amount of money for the quals...
That attorneys price is egregious IMO....for what might ought NOT need to be done. Talk about taking advantage - what about the poor woman single two kids that needs a CCW, is he going to 'rape' her financially too?
Caveat emptor
Only reason Evan is doing this is because people are bombarding him with requests for free legal advice. So why not make some money, or discourage people from asking and maybe motivate them to do their own research.
IOW, it's a stupid tax, plain and simple.

Insurance companies will discourage pro carry signs. These businesses will be scared because of the liability.
