I submitted all completed paperwork 6 months ago on July 11.
The permits are still tied up in our local pd, and still not sent to the courts despite the references getting emailed and called in august, and then again in December. Apparently heading to the court soon is what we are told.

Seems The 3 written reference forms my local pd received back was not enough so they are calling everyone’s references to ask them to verify everything they filled out and is true. They also asked if the applicant has ever done drugs , crime or has a drinking problem amongst other questions including the circumstances of our relationships. I guess they are looking for inconsistencies between what they filled out and what they say on the phone
Seems like an extensive screening process also.
1. Screened for accuracy before it hits the detectives.2 weeks
2. Screened by the detectives for criminal , mental health etc 4-6 weeks
3. screened by the chief for accuracy and approval ?
4. if approved by the chief it goes to the court where they are much more stringent (pd’s word) ?
Does anyone know if it Is possible the local pd can run credit ?

It’s Going on 7 weeks since I submitted everything. 6 weeks ago fingerprints.
I am told the detective is on vacation all of august and they don’t know when he will return to review the apps.
July they were waiting for further instruction and august everyone is on vacation. I can’t wait for septembers issue.

My local pd told me they just handed in all of the July apps to the detective in charge to review and do backgrounds. The issue now is that he’s on vacation. After that it goes to the chief then off to the courts. I am at 1 month now. I’m sure this will be a several month process.

Anyone else's PD require you to get more training beyond the regular classes?
Or is it just Randolph that requires it?

I can’t believe that the gfh course which is less stringent then the reloaderz course is allowed and not the reloaderz. Makes no sense. -

Certain townships require an nra course. Randolph is one of those townships.
I was told the NRA first step 5 hour class at reloaderz qualifies. So I paid for this class but now it’s sold out until the end of august.

My township wants me to supply this form to them which reloaderz is saying they cannot provide

The law and Bruen are very clear, if for instance they can't understand the law, that is a huge issue.
People bank millions for having their civil rights violated... a small time town should just rubber stamp this shit if the law isn't clear enough, and the state refuses to clarify.
Jack we have to live in these towns lol. I don’t want to be that guy that sued his own local pd.

My local PD just told me "its all on hold" (all carry applicants) until they get further clarification on the requirements
They reiterated that they need use of force, safe handling and the NJSA 2C:39-6j
which they feel all of these courses that are going around may not be acceptable

OK, the PD is not accepting my reloaderz qual because they want an additional form stating the specifics of the test...7-10-15-25
I will contact Reloaderz now for the form

Anyone who took the class at reloaderz have any issues?
My local PD is now telling me that that is not enough to qualify and that I need:
Items 1 and 3 which are the substantially equivalent training per NJSA 2C:39-6j and safe handling course
Makes no sense since that Is what I thought Reloaderz provided and I submitted to the PD

Totally agree golf. Out of 15 in my class only 2 passed and 13 had to retake it. 1 person disqualified because he fired without even a target up. I guess a nervous trigger but everyone was supposed to be holstered and then I heard a shot and the rso disqualified him rightfully so.

My local pd only wanted 1 original mental health, 1 notarized letter of firearm ownership and they made a copy of my drivers license and passport

What is the name of the place you are getting fingerprints. My pd told me to use identgo and they are all booked out for weeks
