  1. These cases won’t take that long. Injunctive relief even in the form of a temporary one until the case is heard will come. Bruen has made the case law. SCOTUS has ruled. Now the courts just have to enforce it despite lower courts attempting to work around it. The current NJ and NY carry laws are more fundamental than a magazine limit . .
  2. You’re bitching before the first court case on this has even been heard. NY has won its court cases. It’s just that they appealed and it’s on hold until the appeals court makes a decision. Just the fact you can now even realistically apply for carry permit and get if without being part of a certain profession was a big win. A big win that was years in the making after the Heller decision. The new NJ law has only been around for less than a week . Give it some time .
  3. Just keep some faith that it will be straightened out in court in a few months . Whatever gets set in case law becomes the bottom of how far down they can push gun control down our throats . They went “ full retard” on this one and are going to lose big because of it .
  4. I think it will be. A injunction ( temporary or permanent) should come down pretty quickly just like in NY. The question is will the appeals court allow the injunction to remain in effect during the appeal . Two years before it hits SCOTUS as a main case rather than a preliminary injunction stage on the high end.
  5. Don’t forget that one no longer has to prove a reason to have a carry permit. How many people here could legally carry in NJ before Bruen ? Or even realistically even apply for a carry permit with a real chance of it being granted before Bruen ? I could only because of LEOSA ( a federal law).
  6. Please remember when one looks for gun laws being overturned, you have to look at laws that are post- Heller, McDonald and now Bruen. Again, Chicago had a lot of their post McDonald laws overturned. Bruen has given a new standard to be applied .
  7. There is a security guard exemption allowing open carry. The way the exemption is written, it might require open carry for security guards in sensitive places. “ f. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit an employee of an armored car company who is the holder of a valid and lawfully issued permit to carry a handgun issued pursuant to N.J.S.2C:58-4 who is contractually authorized to provide services for a client at a place enumerated in subsection a. of this section from carrying a firearm, openly, in the regular course of employment.“
  8. The city took more rights? Go look again after you realize what they had before the McDonald decision. Then look up the law they passed after the McDonald decision which was struck down. https://investortimes.com/freedomoutpost/chicago-gun-laws-gets-gutted-city-council/ https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/breaking/ct-chicago-gun-range-restrictions-20170118-story.html https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/judge-overturns-chicagos-ban-on-gun-sales-keeps-ordinance-in-place-for-now/
  9. It was the second amendment that was the grounds for it. And watch your language and what names you call people even if you disagree with them . I gave you one example. There others to how the court have rejected similar things in the past. This crap was tried in Chicago after the McDonald decision too. And 3 more rounds . But more importantly, it set a bottom for how low they could go- aim to restrict future magazine restrictions to 10. It’s why the New York CCIA law and probably why NJ didn’t attempt to make a seven round limit either. And those 3 extra rounds in my gun hopefully will never have to make the difference. But it was the one part of these laws that I had a direct effect on me.
  10. Go look up how Chicago attempted the same thing . The federal circuit court threatened to turn the state into constitutional carry if they kept it up https://www.ibtimes.com/short-history-chicagos-battles-courts-over-gun-control-1530100
  11. The NY SAFE act . Parts were overturned in court ( and in the 2nd circuit). NY had a seven round limit until it or was overturned in court —- CT’s law on a certain pump action rifle was also overturned.
  12. Yep but they didn’t see her coming when she with hell of a PAC I am talking about took that seat from nationally prominent democrat.
  13. Please go look up what Trump is getting sued for. They are suing for acts by him not as president of the US. All the other lawsuits are covered by the us government.
  14. No, that is the point. If we became that 10% in a democrat primary—and if we were willing to vote against that person regardless of who the other person was …what would happen? They would fear us. Our answer would be , the nut job we just voted in couldn’t be any worse than what you just did on this issue. The next politician who is told we will do the same to you if you continue to vote against on this issue , it will happen to you, will listen .
  15. It used to be for everyone but it was the New York AG that chased them out from covering everyone. Now. Ask yourself, why to they cover LE? The answer is so they can sue LE and have a chance of getting money . Suing a retired officer means no money for their clients ( remember most of them are lawyers). A retired LE is often “ judgement proof” ( can’t get blood from a stone ). NY didn’t impose the insurance requirement on the carry permit.
  16. Just the fact that NJ chased out the insurance companies should get it overturned
  17. That’s the point. It’s to have a threat to “ unelect” someone instead of electing someone . Look at what AOC did to the establishment when she primaried a national leader. The PAC that put her in got influence in all sorts of matters that AOC has nothing to do with. Just pick one and get them “ unelected”, no matter who the replacement is and it scares the others.
  18. Guys, this talk of successfully suing politicians personally is just echo chamber talk. It will never happen. If you want to hurt them, let them know you will send money to their opponents ( both in a primary challenge and in the general election). We should make a political action committee that doesn’t fight them on the issue of gun control but goes after anti/gun politicians on other points . Pay for the radio and internet ads supporting their opponents. without ever mentioning guns. We pool our money against one candidate who was anti gun and get them out . Become a PAC who is feared.
  19. I was afraid of that . I have insurance but I don’t reside in NJ but forced to be in NJ a lot. I get to carry on LEOSA so the insurance requirements also don’t apply but I have it. Will the company cover me in NJ, who knows.
  20. It doesn’t work that way. He is automatically indemnified by the state of NJ.
  21. So every taxi who wanted to carry for protection would be in trouble unless they also get a security guard license? Or does subsection e, f, and g cover that ?
  22. To the insurance question, while they were chased out of New York ( and maybe NJ) Here are a few: https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/membership/self-defense-liability-insurance/ https://ccwsafe.com/ The NRA too had it but it was chased out of New York and possibly NJ
