Stop it all you spoilers, I recorded it but have yet to watch it
This!
My own fault for reading the whole thread.
I'm enjoying the show. It's also the first one where I've heard a 1911 referred to as a "1911". Granted, he said "Colt .45 1911", but it's an improvement.

Thanks, Damjan. Guess I'll go that route. I appreciate the advice.

Resurrecting this old thread...
So has anyone shipped a handgun through UPS recently? I just ran through the UPS website to get a quote, using a California address for delivery, and it came to over $90! Is that right?

I bought these for each car in my family. Super bright and the beam can be focused. A steal for this price!

I have to say... All these good things being said - I need to get one of these now! But which one?

Hey Ritgers95,
Thanks for offering Blake's Tavor! And Blake, thanks for following up. The Tavor was the top of my list, so... let's see if I can get to CJ. Maybe this weekend?
Thanks.

I have the Para Ordnance SSP. Very accurate, nice 1911. I plan on selling it, in fact I'm taking the pictures later today so I can post it. It looks like this one, but with VG grips, extended slide release, and wear marks:
If you're interested, PM me and I'll let you know when I list it here.

I don't see a problem with no gun sales at this show. I see this more like the big auto shows and there are no car sales there. Does anyone know if SHOT or the NRA shows have gun sales? I'm looking forward to going this.

Yeah, I got slapped by the tax monster, too. But it showed up when I checked out.

Got my BUIS' yesterday. TheTroy comes in a generic zip-closed bag, the Midwest in retail packaging. Overall, I'm very happy with these.

And to the LEOs (and firefighters for that matter) here, thank you for your service.

Aim high. Fly, flight, win!

Thanks! I've been looking for an excuse to go to the Woodland Park range and the MSAR is it. It's over an hour drive for me to get there.
I'll also give RTSP a call.
I appreciate the guidance.

I apologize if this came up in other threads. I did search, really!
Anyhoo, does anyone know of a range that has bullpups available to rent? I have the itch, but never have shot one. I've held the Steyr AUG and am enamored of the ergonomics. I'm leaning toward a Tavor, though, since it will use my AR mags.
Thanks!

My daughter wears the 457s (essentially identical to the 453s) and loves them. Yes, my daughter wears combat boots...

Just saw that my CC was charged today... Ordered the Troy sights.

Was the part when the Chinook got shot down true?
Sadly, yes.

I thought the movie was a reliable translation of the book. Some drama was added, yes, but the wounds shown were based on autopsy reports, and the lack of a full description of Operation Red Wings (being a Marine op, etc) is inline with how the book presented it. Berg went for representing the incidents as written by Luttrell rather than a grander scale movie like "Saving Private Ryan" (which was fiction, after all.) I put this movie more in the category of "We Were Soldiers", my favorite war movie.
All the services were well represented, I thought (except the Coast Guard, but I don't believe they had any role in the op).

The book was great. Loved it and it was very moving and a page turner. Really looks like they tried to stay true to the book with the movie. I hope so.
It's too bad Marky Mark is such an anti-gun hypocrite.
Agreed

A lot of you on this forum support our military and I'd like to ask you to attend the movie "Lone Survivor" this (opening) weekend. Hollywood has put out a stream of movies (and TV shows) that depict military members in numerous negative ways (Yes, PTSD is real, but c'mon Hollywood!).
I have not seen the movie yet (going tonight) but from everything I have heard, read, and seen it is an accurate depiction of what occurred during Operation Red Wing. The "Lone Survivor", author of the book and former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, was an advisor and performed the weapons and tactics training the actors went through.
Let's help make this a box office smash and show Hollywood how successful an accurate military movie can be. They can ignore angry letters and protests, but what they care about is profit. So let's help this movie make a profit.
And read the book, too. It's not polished prose, but it's real, gripping and a great read.
Thanks for your time.

My wife took the NRA Women on Target class there in September and she liked the range. She's been to Classic Pistol and R14, so she had something to compare it to. It's a bit of a drive (but so is any range for me), but I may need to visit.
Anyone watch "The Blacklist"?
