  1. While editing / adding a gun, click on the images tab, then right click in the white box and select "insert picture"

    Thanks Chad. But I still keep getting this message and the program closes. I'm able to enter all other info. Trying to fix, investigating potential problems

    "Filemaker Pro Runtime has stopped working"

  2. Being that the 229's dimensions are the same for all calibers, I'd go with the .40. Although there are some very good 9mm defense loads out there, nothing beats the heavier bullet. It also comes in the .357 Sig. I've got a P229R .40 DAK (non-SAS). I find it a bit heavy for all day carry. My P239 SAS DAK however is a different story. I find that the closer to the body you can get it the more comfortable. I switched to IWB for both guns.

  3. Ok - you know where he is, my question is this: Is he any good? If he's good - why is he not on here?

    His name is Doc. He is the Membership Comittee Chairman of the Monmouth County Rifle and Pistol Club. Small shop in Lakewood and sells guns by appointment only. Very trustworthy guy. If you send him a message on Gunbroker he will set up an appointment to go see it.

    I collect Colts just like that one. Typically the unshrouded ejector rod models are less desireable unless you are talking about the older models. I was told that one looks only factory test fired. I would expect it to go for around 400 - 450 dollars, maybe even more if a few bidders get involved. Colt does not make them anymore so the values are going nowhere but up. You wont find a better action or lockup as you will on a Colt D-frame. If you can get the serial #, I can give you the manufacture date. I have the Colt book. Unshrouded ejector rod d-frames were made prior to 1972. The grips on it look newer but Colt may have produced a few in the 70's with those larger grips.

  4. I got the infamous Midway Range Bag and some Midway Gift Certificates from my wife. She said " Those gifts are so boring" I said "Not to me".

    Already ordered some gun cleaning stuff, a holster for my new Glock, safe organizer... Oops, I think I went over the amount of the certificates !

  5. Yes perfectly legal however I don't know why anyone would buy one. The SS Ranch rifle I had worked perfectly but was less accurate then an AK.

    I would agree with you about accuracy with the older Minis (I had one) Mauser but Ruger has made some good improvements. I have a new 580 series and the new barrel is substantially heavier. I've seen video of the older skinny barrels waving like a noodle when hot on high-speed video. Not exactly a target rifle, but my new one is much better than my old 180 series.

  6. I can't stand when men wear sandals , ESPECIALLY to restaraunts. It makes me want to vomit. I want to look at your nasty dinosoar looking, callous infested, bunion riddled, middle toe longer-than-the-big-toe disgustingly hairy toe knuckles while I'm eating??? Please leave the sandals off unless you are at the beach. Wanna-be Yuppies

    Chad Rules ! That's the funniest thing I ever heard. I also agree.

    How come everyone is talking about toes and not my beautiful snubbie revolvers ?

  7. While this illustration compares an HK and an M4, you can see how a piston system operates. The original AR design (gas impingement) directs the gases directly into the chamber to operate the action. This can get quite dirty after extended firing. The gas piston system uses the gas to operate a piston rod to cycle the bolt carrier group and vents the gas out the front of the rifle ahead of the handguard.

  8. :lol::lol::lol:

    I can't believe that MSNBC even would show that poster. We know how Left they are. The camera man zooms right in, awesome ! :lol::lol:

    A friend of mine told me this the other day: If you're feeling down in the dumps, life just isn't going the way you want it to, you just can't catch a break, you just don't know how you can go on with your life.....

    Just remember, There's a Mr. Pelosi :lol:

  9. No regrets on any firearm I've ever purchased over the years and that number is up there. The only regrets are the ones I've sold and let get away. These are mostly Colt's that I sold. 2 DS-II's, SF-VI, Special Lady, PeaceKeeper .357 (not the SAA), Diamondback (Nickel). Colt was still making them at the time of sale so the values were low. When I see what these are going for on GB, I want to kick myself. Got some of them back and now a double action Colt never leaves the stable.
