  1. Folks. May I also add that once you get a jersey CCW, (like me for the past 10 plus years.)

Next time you are driving around and a cop rolls behind you to run your plates for usual expired registration license etc, etc.. If the vehicle is registered to you, the cop should be able to see (definitely) if he pulls you over and gets your DL. That you are a  NJ Carry Permit Holder.

    Just something to think about...

@quikz Thanks for relating your experience.

If you don't mind telling us, was your license restricted as to when and/or where you could carry, what you could carry, or both?

    Thanks in advance.

My jersey """"carry"""" permit's only restriction is "during work hours only..." Otherwise there is NO restrictions. And I have carried all over the country and ALL OVER Jersey. For work and on my own in Free States.

The permit itself has NO indication of weapon you are to """carry""". That information is on a totally separate piece of paper on NJ Courts letterhead and that letter indicated Make, Model, Serial Number, Caliber. In my case it's either an Hk P2000 9mm or Glock 30S in .45ACP.

How much of your 2-3 months is with PD vs Court ? Ball park ?

    Let's see...

    1. I submitted my renewal to the NJSP late March, 2022.

    2. Did my Sagem Morph whatever its called, about 2 weeks later, locally in early/mid April, 2022.

    3. Got a callback from NJSP approx. 3rd week of May, 2022 to come pickup my """carry""" permit.

    4. When I picked up my permit, it had a NJ Courts letter attached saying the court signed off on it around early May 2022. Or 2 weeks prior and that's when they also started the 'clock ticking' on my 2 year permit. Thereby losing about 2 weeks of permit validity. <They do this all the time.

*Truly, a horrendous, onerous, non-transparent, non-constitutional system and a statist money grab.

  4. Ok. I am a 10 plus year jersey 'restticted', """carry""" permit holder. 35 year jersey BS """FID""" holder.

As far as the passport pics. I cut mine down to *around* 1.5 inches on the kitchen counter with the same scissors I use to cut open salami, soppressata packaging, (stains and all.) Once the permit is ready, jersey will 'glue' your pic to the back portion of the jersey """carry""" permit on a crude piece of thick paper and it looks 3rd Grade, maybe 1st Grader even. Making a fuss over this passport pic thing is really not needed.

If you get denied. And you go for a non-res out of state permit, i.e. NH. If they ask if you were denied. Not sure how one would handle that, but they (America), know jersey is MESSED UP on anything 2A or 1A or 5A or 14A... etc... So not sure(?)

NOW... There is literally 4-6 differing jersey """carry""" permit standards.

    1. LE

    2. RPO

    3. Armored

    4. SORA 'Red Card'

    5. Civilian (possible location restricted) """"carry"""" permits.

    6. Insert Future Jersey NON-Sense.

    My Main Concern:

Is all the radical far left judges in those SUPER BLUE counties in BLUE jersey (We know who they are...) who will commit some kinda self styled 'insurrection' from their obstructionist bench. With all these CCW applications now in their possession we will see their True Colors. We need MANY MANY MORE Lawsuits. STILL.

Bergen County - Looks like most towns are dragging their feet with either "waiting for the direction on process to submit to court" or "waiting for approved list of qualification courses" or some other excuse. Bergen County Prosecutors Office sends another confusing letter URGING PDs to do "thorough background check" in place of now unconstitutional "justifiable need".  In summary, traitors to the constitution.

Please see the official jersey response:

Can applicants for concealed carry please state what happened to your application?  Were you approved for concealed carry or denied?  If denied, what was the reason why denied?  And am I correct no formal training certificate required?  Reason for wanting actual experiences is b/c too much conflicts on the requirements.  Thanks

Do you mean before or after Bruen?

So the NJSP is the one that forwards the to the Judge ? and one day NJSP contacts you and says your carry permit is here ?  Who actually prints / makes the the actual physical permit ?

    1. Yes. They said to "Trenton."

    2. Yes.

    3. Not sure who prints the """carry""" permit card itself for my part time gig. BUT....That card IS NOT designed to 'conveniently' fit in your wallet. I always trim mine down. They dont even want you to ""carry"" your """""carry""""" permit! LOL!

If so they are possibly violating NJ law. NJ does not require notaries to do anything but sign and witness the signature. Any stamps, raised or foil seals are extra and not even standard practice or prescribed under NJ law. I am a bank notary and all I ever do is sign. I have a stamp just to make it official but it isn't required.

I am a NJ """restricted""" """carry""" for work permit holder for the past 10 years. My current (short 2  ridiculous years) renewal was recent, May 2022.

My PREVIOUS renewal was issued right before the (coof) coronavirus pandemic. Around late January 2020. That application process was started in the Fall of 2019. I want to say Oct. 2019.

At that time. I used a different notary. Which was a notary at my personal bank. My bank's notary used a stamp only. This was submitted to the NJSP and the new Superior Court Judge (Camden) REFUSED IT. Saying that 'stamped' notary seal was not acceptable. Outrageous. I know the previous judge that did my renewals years past was a good Gun Guy, even owned an AR. But he was very old and had already passed away.

So then. I had to REDO my horrendously onerous application again with our nice notary at work. Our notary has a raised seal and stamp and notarized my redone application BOTH the raised seal AND stamped seal.

YES. Jersey truly does make up it's own laws as they go along.

OBEY THE SUPREME COURT NJ. OBEY THE SPIRIT, LETTER, TEXT, AND COLOR OF THE ABUNDANTLY CLEAR DEFINED SCOTUS RULINGS.

OBEY THE LAW OF THE LAND NJ. OBEY OBEY OBEY, PERIOD.

AFAIK just the range qual. This can always change, but from what I was told it’s the qual.

What did armed guards and other permit to carry holders submit in the past? Those requirements shouldn’t have changed.

I have obtained my 'restricted' NJ "carry" work permit for the past 10 years. My most recent renewal was a few months ago in May of 2022. Good for only 2 ridiculous years.

I only qualified w our same certified firearms instructor. BUT my scores which are only good for 6-months, was expired by a week or so. I submitted my scores ANYWAY. My scores have always been perfect 150/150, never scored less. The qual was 7 yards all the way out to 25 yards. The gun you shoot with, is the one 'allowed' by your permit. More Ridiculousness.

Submitted all this jersey extreme and onerous application around late March of 2022. Got my renewal around late May 2022 even though it shows the judge approved it early May 2022. Picked up from local NJSP barracks. There was no "training course". There was no need to "appear before a judge."

Had NO probs with that Sagem Morpho or however it's spelled it terms of getting an appointment this past winter 2022. AT THAT TIME.....

  10. SO.

In jersey we now have potentially THREE separate "carry" standards for the same, on paper, CCW permit now?

    Standard #1:

I have had a jersey "restricted" "carry" permit for 10 years now. I can carry in jersey, pretty much anywhere (and beyond) at work.

    Standard #2:

Retired law enforcement. Can carry pretty much anywhere in jersey, I believe as well. And very similar renewals etc, like my current/active permit.

    Standard #3:

"Civilian" CCW (under Murph's Alinsky style Rules for Radicals definitions) maybe OFF LIMITS in certain arbitrary "gun free zones", retail establishmemts, restaurants, movie theaters, 'buffer zones', "public safety" 'zones', 'sensitive areas', parks, 'crowded' areas, and etc, etc, etc... and etc....

The depths of the feel good STUPIDITY of this state's utter non-sense is beyond any and all human comprehension. PLENTY of low hanging fruit and material for EASY immediate future open-and-shut lawsuits and Class Actions for any good ambitious attorney(s) to devour and make a name for themselves.

  11. Folks. You MUST understand. That the jersey legislature, judicial and Murph. Are FAR OUT Leftists by any of the National, normal standards. (86% of the USA is 2A CCW compliant and rising.)

    This Means:

That jersey and especially Murph. Will utterly defy, to the CORE, by his own personal decree and based on his own personal 'feelings.' ANY AND ALL movement on 2A Rights, CCW, mag ban, and Supremacy of the Text, History and Tradition of the 2A issue. They will and have already, (illegally) blocked the High Court's Rulings. His highness is showing his True Colors of statist radicalism. Not Rocket Science here. Murph and the Gang, has already made it abundantly clear, their most extreme of extremist insurrection intentions to defy the SCOTUS.

THE TRUE REASON Murph is against all this 2A stuff... It is NOT about """"public safety"""". The CRATS KNOW that as you have more people finally exercising their 2A Protected Codified Rights. These people of NJ will, **NO LONGER BEGIN TO VOTE DEMOCRAT.** They utterly know this and THIS is EXACTLY what is keeping them UP at night. They will LOSE over a century of their stranglehold on power and cronyism.

NJ MUST OBEY THE LAW OBEY THE SCOTUS, PERIOD!

Does it specifically state that these are the ONLY approved certification avenues?

Not trying to be a douche, but there is a LOT of opinion, innuendo, guesses, 'I think' - comments that may or may not be true.

We are all in a rush to get 'approved' and there seems to be a lack of definitive methodology to achieve that goal.

Me I'll wait to see what shakes out....YMMV

You are not being a douche. That is a good question. But I would not put anything past Gov Dicktator.
