  1. the grips go right on? or do they need to be filed to fit? i read they need to be filed to properly fit. i wanna get some black grips for it. anyone have any recomendation on where or what to buy? and pk90 you dont know about the slide release & thumb safety being the same as a 1911 do you? i have researched that but no answers.
  2. i know it scares me to what is under the paint. I want to take the paint off the trigger and hammer if it will be polished but im afraid to do this unless others have done it too. Anyway i gotta wait to get it back from the dealer before doing that anyway. im gunna try to find out if that is ok to do or not, as well as drilling the trigger. and does anyone know if slide release from a 1911 or thumb safety from a 1911 will fit this? i know that grips wont fit, but i will file them myself to fit. i want to get a more custom look to the chiappa 1911.
  3. Also, do I have to use fedex or does ups do it too? And if I go to an ffl does it have to be the one I purchased from?
  4. Ok i will bring it to fedex tomorrow. Do you know roughly how much it costs to ship this? also would they just ship it right back to my house? or does it have to go to an ffl? the chiapalloy is nice actually. it seems strong and it is heavier than expected. It seems like everything is painted black just one coat because it seems to come off pretty easily. such as on the hammer, just wiping the hammer took some of the paint off. that is y i am thinking of polishing the hammer and trigger. would i just rub the paint off and it look ok or is there more to it?
  5. yea i am handy but i am going to let them handle it as this firearm is brand new. the barrel is attached to the frame. so i have to ship the frame as well which means it is shipping a firearm.
  6. the other picture. sorry problems uploading.
  7. ok so i figured out the problem with some research. Apparently this gun must have ben dry fired before i purchased it. There is a small ding in the top of the opening for the chamber. I am going to have to ship this firearm back to chiappa. How would i go about doing this? Chiappa said i can fedex it overnight. Is this true? i thought i must go to an ffl to ship it? Any info on this would be great. thanks chris
  8. So I just left the range. It was a jamfest. The blazer was the best ammo. The federal didn't cycle at all. The winchester was ok. None were good though. The blazer jammed 1 in 3 bullets. The federal jammed every bullet. The winchester 1 in 5. The jams where all different, from double feeds to the ammo going in but not all the way, the slide would cycle and the ammo would be half way in no the whole way. Or the ammo would be part in and the case pealed back. Many shells would not eject also. They would be stuck in there and I had to go in with pliers to get them out. I shot 150 rounds total and towards the end it was a little better but not much. I'm very upset so far with this pistol. I'm going to give it a good clean and lube. Then get some cci mini mags and head back to the range. Anyone have info on customizing?
  9. Hey guys, So yesterday I made my purchase of the 22 pistol I've been looking for. Stop at the store he had a chiappa 1911-22 I looked at it and can't resist. I took it home with me and will be taking it to the range today. Will follow with a range report later. Got blazer ammo, winchester, and federal. Will report which I like the best. Does anyone else have one of these? I am looking into doing some work on mine. Nothing major, just posibly polishing the trigger and hammer, drilling the trigger. Has anyone done this to their chiappa? Wanted to see what the best way to do this is if anyone has please let me know and pics if possible. Also, has anyone taken the name on the side of the slide off this firearm. Its not very important to me but just think it would be nice without it. Any info on customizing this pistol would be great. Thanks Chris.
  10. Hey guys, Are there any firearm stores open on sundays? I'm looking to buy a 22lr pistol today and I'm not sure of who is open. I know ramsey outdoor in roxbury is open but not sure if they sell firearms. If anyone could help me out with this it would be great. Thanks chris.
  11. thanks guys. im gunna try some cci rounds in the 702. And i was looking at a s&w 22a since the price is good on them. wanted to see if anyone has anything used first before i buy new. thanks chris
  12. I cleam my rimfires every time i use them. 250 rounds about. ive tried remington gold pack bulk, winchester and federal ammo. the remington actually works the best with the 702.
  13. thanks for the info guys. Yea im gunna stay away from those guns then. was looking at a sw 15-22 but thought i could get both the armscor ak and m1600 for the same price as the sw. but ill save my money from that. I have a mossberg plinkster 702, i like it but it jams much more than my marlin model 60. im guessing that might just be because the 60 is tube fed. I think im gunna just get a 22lr pistol instead sinse i dont have one of those. I could always stick with the 22lr rifles i have that are not tacticool for now and get a pistol to do siloutes at cherry ridge. Thanks for the info guys. Any 22lr pistols you can recomend that are cheap ($200) range? bruce doesnt sell any firearms he just does transfers correct? thanks for everything. chris
  14. Hi, im very interested in the armscor m1600 and mak22. Are they legal in nj? I am looking at ordering from a website such as this. is there any dealers that would order online for me? also is the walther g22 nj legal? http://www.gunsatcost.com/item/96_Armsc ... 0RD_B.aspx http://www.gunsatcost.com/item/97_Armsc ... RD_BL.aspx thanks in advance guys. chris
  15. Thanks for the info. Does this mean pistols like the gsg5 pistol or bushmaster pistol are nj legal? Thanks Chris
  16. i believe this is legal in nj. I didnt know there is a threaded barrel. If anyone can let me know if it s legal in nj it would be great. Thanks Chris
  17. Hi, I am looking to get one of these two pistols. I am reading reviews on both of these pistols. It seems to be personal preference as which one to get. But is the anything that is known to be different about them or making one better than the other? Also, is there anywhere in nj that has them both in stock? I would like to feel them both side by sides. Any information about these two would be great. Thanks chris
  18. the 700 is 7mm remington magnum
  19. thanks guys, im waiting for my permit to come back its been 3 weeks so once it comes back ill be looking for a used one if anyone has anything before i buy new. Just looking to get something to have fun with and not spend too much. chris
  20. megaman, i tried 2.75 and it will not cycle them. It fires it but then it gets stuck ejecting it because the ejection port does not seem to open up all the way. I spoke to a gunsmith and he told me that many of the early models did 3 in or 2.75 not both. and that was why mine would not shoot the 2.75 in. thanks for the info guys hopefully i can get some round about prices on what they might be worth. thanks chris
  21. thanks. but any ideas other than the chiappa?
  22. mine will not shoot 2.75 shells only 3 in magnum. i believe inthe 80s you could get one or the other not both.
  23. thanks, i looked on there before. Im not sure about the 1100 because it is 12 ga 3 in magnum only. the 700 has prices varying from 700 new to 1300 new. im not sure of the differences.
