  1. My first post. I am a supporter of the 2nd Amendment right to carry a weapon. I honestly never intend to, but as a retired service person, I am tired of losing the freedoms which I enjoyed prior to living in NJ. My weapons are in Florida in a lockbox. I recently only applied for a CCW permit in FLorida and in about 40 days, I was provided one which is good on most of the states except the one I am a resident of. Go figure. The weapons were my father's. He passed away in 2005 and I haven't touched the weapons since. But I figure it's about time. I sometimes think he wanted to be a secret agent or something as it seems his hobby was collecting things James Bond would wear/use or an ASP pistol which is almost brand new. I am not sure if this is simply a collector piece or one which can be easily maintained. It has a unique sight and I believe uses 9 mm ammo. My preference is shooting a .22 Colt Woodsman which I can shoot in tight groups. Anything much larger has given me trouble. But I imagine with practice I can develop good habits. Last time I was on a pistol range was while I was at officer training school. At OTS we never had much rest. The days we had to march to the range were days which started before dawn and the last place I wanted to be was on a range, but I qualified with the .38 revolver which was standard at the time. On the M-16, I was awarded an expert medal, but the situation was far different and much more relaxed. I'm just wondering if any members have anything to say about this weapon. Thanks in advance.
