  1. Huh. I must have unfollowed the thread somehow and didn't get emailed. My B
  2. Bad news everybody, SCOTUS declined to hear the very similar NY CCW case (which I can't find/spell the name of for some reason)
  3. sorry for the necrobump but what are the laws regarding muzzle loading pistols in NJ? Are they any different than "normal" pistols (need and FID and PPP) or do they have some exemptions?
  4. That would be 100 kinds of fantastic but I don't expect that to happen unless the circuit court specifically ordered it. A man can dream though.
  5. So if the court rules against the state, is it guaranteed that they will appeal? My immediate reaction is yes but as I think about it, depending on how harsh the ruling is it might not be worth taking it to scotus and risk a more robust opinion. Particularly given that the odds of the high court ruling in NJ's are slim to none, assuming the makeup doesn't change in the meantime.
  6. That's how it came off to me too. Do we know the third judge's name? Oh, I totally agree. Also, being able to OC when I'm camping would be nice. Would an OC provision apply to vehicles? I know that's not the case in PA, where vehicle carry is considered concealed but they are a shall-issue state so that's not as big of a problem
  7. On a related note, do we know who the three justices making the ruling are? It'd be interesting to see what their history is on 2A issues
  8. It has nothing to do with being a puss, it's about being harassed by the police and property owners ceaselessly and making it difficult for you to go about your daily business. Causing that much of a scene everywhere you go would both be very draining and also, IMO anyway, do a disservice to our cause by scaring the general population too much. I agree that a right unexercised is a right lost but I'm just thinking pragmatically here.
  9. That was awesome to listen to. I'm a little put off by the idea that the state could legalize open carry in in lieu of concealed knowing that far fewer people would do so regularly. If they are forced to allow carry of some sort, how likely do you think it is that it would be OC only? I think it went pretty darn well. I have not listened to the oral argument from the district court do I can't compare them but it seemed like the state's argument failed to hold water in the face of the justices' questions and analysis.
  10. Any indication of when it will be heard in federal court?
