Time to replace our tires on the LR2 as they're almost out of legal tread. Anyone recommend somewhere to have the new tires fitted within a 20 mile radius of Secaucus (Hudson County). I've seen there is a STS Tire in East Rutherford and Jersey City. There's also PEP Boys and some independents.
We'll most likely order the tires from TireRack.

CCR is still well regarded on SigForum. GrayGuns uses CCR for their refinishing - hence can be a good option if wanted to have other work done on it as well.

If all you want to do is SRT then no need to send away. If looking to bead blast and do some trigger work then recommend sending to GrayGuns. They can do a much better trigger job than the SRT gives. If you can get to RTSP some time then I'm happy to being my P226 which has had the ELCP work done. PM me if interested.

I shoot my 15-22 lefty and don't have an issue. I'd try it first before worrying about it.
In terms of a brass deflector have you seen this post:

Website is www.sigpower.com
I typed SigMan earlier when I meant SigPower.

Changes the magazines so:
1. Fits 15 rounds instead of 10
2. Prevents the slide going fully forward into battery after the last round, useful as the Sig .22 kit doesn't lock back the slide on the last round

My personal view is "Join."

I have the .22 kit on my Sig and have posted reviews on the forum. It pays for itself very quickly and I shoot a lot of .22 through my Sig. CCI mini mags work well, cheaper federal not so well.
Magazines are a bit pricey and I would recommend the SigMan conversions on the magazines. I personally think the .22 conversion is a must have, particularly to help with training.

I have a Sig P226 USPSA (beavertail, srt trigger, dawson/warren tactical sights) - you can see it here:
http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/28114-sig-p226-uspsa/
I also have the .22 conversion kit which I have changed the sights on:
http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/41818-sig-22-slide-aftermark-sight-review-spdtool-llc/
I've changed the grips to be Hogues as I much prefer their grippiness. I also sent the Sig to GrayGuns to have their ECLP package which makes a big difference on the trigger pull.
If you have shot the Sig and like it, then go for it. Some people dislike where the slide release is as they rest their thumb on it and the slide doesn't lock back.
I am competing in IDPA with my Sig - the DA/SA trigger takes some getting used to compared to a Glock, M&P, PPQ etc.
I would suggest trying the M&P and PPQ as well if you are able to.

Not anymore. Two more left yesterday. One to CO and the other to IL.
Awesome!

Primary Arms have a good reputation at that price bracket.

MrsWombat has the EMP in 9mm, we replaced the ambi safety with an Ed Brown single sided safety. We also had to send it back to Springfield Armory to have them recut the feed ramp etc so it would feed hollow points. I've a post on the forum together with photos. I will say though that the Springfield Armory customer service was very good.
I've shot MrsWombat's EMP a fair bit and have to a I don't particularly like it and I definitely wouldn't carry it. I am not a fan of carrying firearms with externally safeties although this is just a personal view. In terms of actually shooting it, I find it can be a little excitable with +P hollow points. I much prefer the Walther PPS (my carry firearm of choice) or the M&P shield both of which I find easier to shoot and just as easy to conceal.
If you like the 1911 platform, then the EMP is probably a good option. I just prefer something else for my go to carry firearm.

Hmm - how about a nice 9mm Walther PPQ. PK90 has them in stock....

Glock or M&P - either is a good first firearm due to price, availability of accessories, the number of other shooters with them already who can help etc.
.22 is a good starting option to focus on technique - but I understand when most people want to jump straight to something bigger.
I shoot several hundred rounds a week - of which 80%+ is .22LR from my Sig P226 handgun while I practice technique, holster draw, sight transition, trigger control etc. It is cheap, fun, and let's you focus on removing the bad habits before they get too ingrained.
You can also shoot several hundred .22LR at a range session and not worry about the cost of the ammunition, it is also still somewhat readily available even with the post-Obama gun-buying frenzy.

Now time to start browsing through the Black Friday sales to see what to buy, that I don't really need!

MrsWombat had an EdBrown Tactical Safety (single sided) put on her Springfield EMP. It seemed to do the job well and was a good size. There are some photos posted on the forum under TheWombat
Plenty of other options

I've already emailed Frank about the issue and he sent out a note to all members asking them to check their settings. It doesn't necessarily solve the root cause which is that by default the privacy settings are set to "public"

Both the PC and the iPad will need to be set up for IMAP.
In terms of the difference between POP3 and IMAP for email synching, I've given a brief (non technical) summary below. In your scenario there are three parts to the synching puzzle that need to be considered:
- Email Client A: PC
- Email Client B: iPad
- Server: Yahoo 'web mail'
POP3
If you set up your email clients the way most home users do then they use POP3. This typically results in an email being downloaded to only one of your Email Clients, whichever one happens to be 'in use' at the time.
e.g. PC switched off at night, iPAD set to auto-download every 15 minutes. Email downloads onto iPad. When the email downloads it tells the Server that the email has already been read, and hence when you switch the PC on and use your PC client (e.g. MS Outlook) it doesn't download the email.
e.g. PC switched on, IPAD set to only manually refresh email. Email downloads onto PC client (e.g. MS Outlook) but not Ipad.
Also, if you delete an email on a Client, the email is not deleted (by default) on the Server or other Client. The positive of this is that if you delete an email on your PC, you can log into Yahoo web mail via your browser and the email will still be there.
Some of the above behaviors can be overcome to some degree depending on email client/server being used and changing settings, however at no point are the Email Client A & B, and the Server all in sync.
IMAP
The Clients and Servers are really in sync. Emails will download to all Client devices, and if you delete an email it will delete from all client devices and the server.
e.g.. Open up PC email client (e.g. Outlook), and Ipad Mail Client, and server web mail (Yahoo mail in web browser). The new emails will download to both client devices and will show in the web browser. Then delete the email in any one location (PC, Ipad OR web browser) and the email will disappear from ALL three locations.
Summary
The above is not 100% correct technically, but provides the summary view as to how it works. There are some pros/cons to consider:
You can mix and match POP3 and IMAP together. e.g. You might have a number of email accounts such as a hotmail email account for registering on websites. This is different to a gmail address you decide to use for personal correspondence.
You could decide to:
a) set up hotmail as POP3 and gMail as IMAP (or vice versa) to get the behavior you wish in terms of deleting/downloading emails
b) you could set up gmail to pull the hotmail email into gmail via POP3; and then use IMAP to keep in sync with gmail
etc
etc
I switched from POP3 to IMAP about 12 months ago and I'm very happy with how my 2 mobile devices, PC and server all keep in synch. MrsWombat still prefers POP3 for her setup although I think she is beginning to see the benefits of IMAP so maybe I'll switch her over the Christmas break.
note: If making any changes to your email - it is best to ensure you backup the email file/content first so you don't accidentally lose your email!

Sent out a price request for a M&P 15-22 rifle, three responses were received back with PK90 being the first. Paul was the only one to respond to the follow up questions and was prompt as always.
While it is close to a 2 hour drive for me to go to PK90, the level of customer service and the competitive prices means Paul is top of the list of local vendors who receive my repeat business. Highly recommend PK90 and I am now the owner of a M&P 15-22.
thanks

I have my home email accounts synching between my home PC, my iPad and iPhone simultaneously. As Krdshrk has said, you'd need to use connect via IMAP rather than POP3. I use gmail rather than Yahoo, however from a quick Google it appears that Yahoo Mail does support IMAP.

right handed but left eye dominant
in Training Techniques and Tools
Posted
I am right handed but left eye dominant. My left eye dominance is so strong that I have borderline binocular vision and I cannot close just my left eye unaided.
I shoot handguns right handed but sight with my left eye (both eyes open usually). I move my head slightly to the right.
I shoot rifles left handed and sight with my left eye.
I also train a fair bit shooting hand guns left handed and also swapping hands as in a defense situation where I need to shoot around a barricade my eye/hand cross dominance can be an issue.
