  1. Ok thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I'm still just wondering if all I need for a stripped upper is the bcg and a barrel ... Fox why by the way lol?
  2. im up in ocean county but thank you much, yea thats kind of where i am confused. i will definitely make sure it doesn't have the lug or ill remove it but otherwise what parts what i need to add to a stripped upper just the bolt carrier and a barrel ? thanks again
  3. ok so i dropped the composite lower idea (lol had changed my mind before the pic that was posted but that really hammered it home for me ), so i bought two palmetto stripped lowers and there LPK and now i have upper questions. Question one: is hard to assemble your own upper and what do you need? my second is what is the deal with barrels what can/cant be on the end i am really confused. If you buy a barrel that is one piece with the fancy end (muzzle break i think ) is that legal bc it is non removable? Sorry just a newbie really confused. Thanks again guys

  10. i run a machine shop and i have seen some very strong threads made of plastic/composites but i completely agree with you if you cant trust it to be perfect every time then is it really worth it. Part of my problem is i dont know enough about the ar im reading everything i can about it and doing a lot of research to learn but i am still a virgin lol. So i truly appreciate your input.
  11. i have to agree that composite can be stronger then steel or aluminum (weight to strength wise) , if created properly but it deosnt seem that there are to many (reputable) reviews on it so i too am very skeptical.. and being a car guy i have to agree with you on that thanks for waking me up , momma always said u buy sh!t u get sh!t
  12. lol shane may i ask why? im an ar virgin and i really think i want to build one myself
  13. anyone one ever heard of new frontier arms they make a composite lower that comes with a buttstock .... http://newfrontierarmory.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=91_1_134_135&products_id=312 i lied its actually a plum crazy lower
  14. im sorry i am sure this is on here somewhere but im confused about the stupid nj laws as per the ar rifle. I was going to order a bushmaster and then realized that it is not nj compliant (i now know they make one for nj but are not in stock anywhere). I decided it would be fun to build my own thought now and I am trying to figure out if all lowers are legal and the stuff you put on top is what makes it illegal or are there lowers to stay away from? Thanks as always -Vic

  16. yea sorry i should have said that, we both had purchased guns from Florida gun exchange and had them shipped to him
  17. My fiance and I purchased our first firearms last Friday and our experience could not have been any worse. My fiance who his a rather amicable person, ended up in a screaming match with the owner due to his terrible attitude. The first words out of his mouth when she told him she was there to pick up a gun, was "you cant pick up someone else gun". This did not sit well with her and im sure it wont with any other females out there who like to shoot. His employee (Pete) ,who i do not wrong at all, told us it would be no problem to come in at 3:15 to do our paperwork, my fiance walked in at 3:14 and was told that she wasnt early enough and he would not do her paper work ( by Elliot the owner). The man is scum and it took another business owner to come in ( my friend who owns freehold jewelers) to convince him that what he was doing was wrong. He finally filled out the paper work and we left with our guns but the man is the ultimate piece of crap. He even had the audacity to talk about us while we where standing there waiting for the paperwork to be done. Please save yourself the trouble and dont ever even step in the door unless you like being treated poorly.
