  1. Remington 870 - 12ga super magnum

I put a 18" barrel and 2 round mag extension on it.

The factory Remington 18" barrel already has a barrel/mag clamp permanently affixed. I do not want to add a bolt on clamp for the swivel. I'm reluctant to mount the point to the front of the tube extention because I'm afraid of shooting the sling off.

I would like to drill the center of the factory clamp through the flat part on the side and mount an attachment point. Or drill the bottom of the clamp through the round part and braze/mig weld the attachment point.

Does anyone have a better suggestion or see any issue with the way I want to proceed?

    Oh yeah and thermelt mags.

  3. Make no mistake about it, de facto militias have been forming in upstate, central and western NY. And if similar legislation is passed in NJ the whispers will start percolating here as well. Vietnam combat veterans may be too old to climb trees these days but they have significant knowledge and guidance to impart to fellow like-minded Americans. Neither side should count their chickens just yet. I pray that these anti-American politicians withdraw their assault on our Constitution and way of life.

Don't forget Korea & WWII vets........

I get it, they are in between a rock and a hard place.

But those law abiding gun owners are the ones that fund the paychecks, not the politicians.

Uh , oh, I smell shut down!

There's nothing I've said that bashes LEO's. I'm not anti - LEO at all. I put this out their because this situation appears to be escalating to the point where shots are going to be fired and these guys/gals are potentially going to be in a shit-mess. It's one thing for them to go to a house to bust up a meth lab VS. going to a house to confiscate some war veterans constitutionally protected firearms.

I wonder how many people are moving their firearms to a bunker somewhere away from their homes?

  5. I won't be there since I need to get another CTscan to determine if I need surgery, which considering what just happened to me a few minutes ago, may end up needing to happen sooner.

You take care of this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ We got the rest, don't take any chances.

I'm trying to go to the NJ-SAFE meeting instead, so that I'm at least doing something, plus I've called every assembly person, sent emails, and am working on my letters.

I'm simply saying, I think there are more members on NJGF that are passive than there should be. We should all do whatever we can, I mean a call or email doesn't take that long, and considering we all post here, we should all take that time to instead contact our representatives.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk to those here who do do their part, but if I could shame someone who otherwise wouldn't act, or see the importance of this issue into acting, well, then I consider that a win.

Oh and you might want to reword your signature "we're mainly aiming at Rowan Students/ relatives of NJ2AS members, but whatever." People are touchy about that kind of language. :D

  6. Baltimore Police Chief Johnson?

    Negative.

Watched one where he was pandering to the jewish community. The other one some guy (Johnson was behind him) was reading a letter from ???? about newtown and how they were glued to the TV all day crying their eyes out. I wanted to hurl at that. Well you SICK SON OF BITCHES TURN OFF THE TV!!! How can you watch that over and over and over?

Sorry I got off topic. Anyhow, I get the gist, I've heard it before.

  7. watching the meeting on youtube with the "president of the cheifs of police" or whatever his title was...the uncle fester looking baltimore pd guy on the panel must not have or didnt understand what he was saying if he did....he clearly stated he didnt think citizens should be able to posess firearms...so im sure any pro2a citizen rights cops will not be the majority...

Which one, there were a bunch.

  8. According to Wikepedia, the Minneapolis PD has 1100 employees. That's $90.90 spent on guns and ammo per employee per year.

It's a strange world if the njgunforum.com spends a lot more on guns and ammo than the Minneapolis PD. (Or someone moved a decimal point.)

I thought that -- generally speaking -- firearms manufacturers sold to PDs at cost or below as a marketing tool. I doubt they're going to shoot themselves in the foot -- so to speak -- to sell product to PDs at a loss.

Smith & Wesson, Minneapolis' "exclusive supplier" of handguns, must sell boatloads of their AR-15 line in the civilian market.

    Bob,

    Heres the breakdown

    8 patrolmen

    1092 desk jockeys

So the real number is $100k per officer.

  9. Cool more weapons for us civilians. I think if they go that route then all weapons and ammo makers band together and should abstain from selling any guns, ammo or parts to the cities that sign on for this. Imagine the uproar from the PDs.

Let's hope that any company that is boycotted pulls a Ronnie Barrett on any currently owned firearms.

    What did he do?

You beat me too it! 100% right on ! They should all annouce they are having a meeting in a free state on that issue, IE: Texas, who already wants them to open up shop there.

  10.

Thanks TBTF. +1 bud. I don't think I can give you one officially, but at least here I can.

I'm wondering if this decision can be revisited in light of the fact that it was rendered prior to digital record keeping. My understanding is that PD's routinely get back FBI reports within days of submission and the NJSP SBI has also gone to digital databases. There is no reason, other than local manpower and/or allocation of local resources, which is an unacceptable excuse, that it should take longer than 30 days. Can one have the previous finding set aside and bring a new suit?

    Adios,

    Pizza Bob

    I agree 100% PB.

Since there is already a prior ruling, any new suit brought to the court is going to be held to the standards of that ruling. Unless there was proof that the chief was sitting on the application even though the SBI/FBI docs were returned to him. Good luck getting that.

A friend once told me, who is an arbitrator, " If you want justice, stay away from the court house". I've found that to be true via some small claims suits I've filed.

Please clarify the finger printing request the PD has to do. What finger print data base does the PD have direct access to? What I mean are there multiple or various layers they have access to? Is there a town, county, state, federal data base they access without having to deal with the a-soup agencies?

I guess I'll just have to continue using the exemptions and let wifey keep building the collection. But herein lies part of the issue, if there is going to be confiscation she will let them in immediately because she is the owner of record on the firearms, but I on the other hand tend to be a bit more apt to tango.

  11. things will get ugly there... hopefully there is good lawyers, who aren't in it for the money, working on this before it comes to that....

I whole heartedly agree and just wanted to add a little to your quote, hope you don't mind.

When the guy that said he had been floating around the Mediterranean fighting Commies and he then gets home and finds them here I got chills. The politicians he was talking to were probally in diapers or not even born yet. I've heard these comments from these old guys before and, well, never really LISTENED, or better yet understood what they were talking about. Ah, the American dream, freedoms worst enemy, comfort. Well I'm starting to think the time of reckoning is upon us and it looks like we are going to have to think about what the word sacrifice really means. Think about if the LEOS (I am not against LEOS, so dont go there or turn this into an excuse to bash them) go out to start confiscating and a fire fight erupts, and it escalates to multiple depts and agencies. What are you going to do? How many LEOS are going to side with the citizens and tell the politicians to kiss it?

Question: Do Leos take the same oath to defend the constitution? Because if they do and they firmly believe in 2A for citizens, then they are going to have to be the first ones to violate the illegal law of the state.

We need some serious political reform in this country and it may, unfortunately, only come via a massacre for the history books.
