  1. When I lived in NJ 5 years ago this was not a requirement. Now in the process of doing my due diligence on shipping ammo to my new address for my move back I see this on my new towns website: http://www.florhamparkboro.net/things_you_should_know.html FIREARMS The hunting of game and the discharging of firearms within the Borough limits are prohibited. State Law requires the registration of firearms of any type. Applications are handled by the Police Department. This is incorrect right?
  2. I was mulling that over. UPS was working out to around 1.25 a pound. Not all that bad. I was actually about to start researching receiving it on the other end though. I mean its not like I'm buying it, I would just be shipping it between places I lawfully possess it right? I might give that a try unless i dig up any horror stories.
  3. My biggest concern at this point about the move back is going through withdrawal while I wait for my FID. I normally keep 240 rounds of each caliber I own on hand (200 target and 40 SD). With the 11 pound per passenger limit on the plane I'll only be able to get maybe 12 boxes between our checked baggage. I'll shoot that up in no time.
  4. Thanks! Wish I could stay but the call of the dollar is pulling me back.
  5. I'm in the South SF Bay area. It gets cold as a witches nipple here. Not as bad ad NJ but it aint So-Cal.
  6. Ha! so you know about the bullet button? More of an inconvenience than anything else. Never seen anyone check to see if one was operational. Plenty of 15's and the likes where I shoot and they swap mags pretty quick. I think some people just glue them on. Funny you mention about 15 round cap. I had to dump a bunch of G21 mags with a Leo friend of mine when i left NJ. Wonder if he is still around. Thanks for the welcome.
  7. Thanks! I'd have to disagree regarding NJ being better for gun owners. California's liberal gun grabbing population is mostly centered around a few cities (San Fran, Oakland, LA, etc). Once you get even a little ways outside of the urban areas it actually very pro 2A (the people i mean not the laws). If nothing else there is no FID here and there are a ton of good ranges to shoot at. Buying a gun out hear is loads easier than in NJ and at least there's an inkling of hope when you fill out your CCW paperwork out here. I dont remember that being the case in NJ. Mind you i left in 07.
  8. After a 5 year stent in California I'm moving back to NJ Feb 1st. I was looking for a NJ gun forum that I used to post on and stumbled on this one instead. Seems like a good place to catch up on all the new laws that have poped up since I left. Hope to learn and contribute. J.
