  1. Odd...explain to me how long the govt has been stockpiling ammo? I'd assume before Newtown happened correct? So it would certainly sound like this new bill being introduced now has been planned and sitting in the wings for a while...hence the stockpiling over a solid length of time. So it would also be logical to assume that this administraion has just been sitting back, stockpiling, writing up this bill and waiting for something to happen (Newtown) to jump start things and this put all this into motion. And they aren't using the tragic death of children as a means to a political end. Bull$hit.

  2. Yup, 3.5% tax, and the store is usually full of guns. Business what it is right now, they have been very busy but they have a nice selection in stock usually. Lisa is a sweetheart and will take good care of you. She ordered a P226 for me since she didn't have one with night sights in the store in 9mm, I had it in 2 days. Can't beat their service. I've bought 3 guns from them so far, so far...lol.

Under every day conditions? So if the US Gov ever became a total dictatorship should we ask them for our weapons back so we can revolt?

I think one of the greatest failings in this war has been our willingness to allow people to label firearms as "assault weapons" in the first place. Once that was allowed to come to pass every bleeding heart liberal across the country thinks a firearm's only purpose is to kill.

I agree 100%. Every time I hear someone say "assault weapons" I instantly ask them how and who a gun could assault. I hate that. Objects don't assault anyone, crazy morons using them do. Same could applied to a hammer or a bat.

  4. After some debate and a bit of nudging from a fellow board member I decided that after I bought my first handgun, a SIG 226, my second handgun purchase would be a 1911. I went back and forth over what model and manufacturer I wanted to go with and while doing so I got a text message from the previously mentioned boardie that Caso's in Jersey City had just gotten a S&W 1911 E Series and that I should stop in and take a look. He also mentioned that he'd give me 3 seconds to decide if I liked it or he was going to snag it up. Lol. It took me 2 seconds to realize he had very good taste. So, I just brought this home a few days ago. I'm now dying for the weekend so I can finally shoot it.

Agreed. Even though jobs in NJ tend to pay pretty good, taxes and general cost of living will kill you here. I can't wait to leave, and I'll finally have the option this summer. This really has nothing to do with guns, either.

I couldn't agree more...my wife and I are trying to leave NJ as well. We are looking at Charlotte and Raleigh, NC. If you can, stay in Virginia...people are leaving this area in hoards. I live in Jersey City at the moment and hopefully not too much longer. On a brighter note, since you will be in JC, check out Caso's On Danforth Ave. it's a nice, smaller gun store but one of the few in the immediate area.
