  1. Filled out the application for Delco (3/13) and got to the end where it asked if you are a resident of another state. Checked yes and it said you must apply in person and couldn't go further. Called the Delco sheriff department and they said they know of no issues with out of state applications and to call   "Permitium". Thats the company handing the applications. Can't get through to them. So can someone that has gone through Delco explain what they did to get through. The sheriffs department said nothing about moving up the April 1st deadline.

Yes they bury the fact that they issue non resident  permits just fill out the online application  you have to take a picture  front and back  of your  drivers license  as well as your  NJ carry permit you'll  be able to upload  those pics while your completing application  and you only  need two references at the end you pay 20.00 plus 5.00 online convenience fee and tax comes to 26.13 then you be able to print out competed application  as you need to take  it along with  you  when  your contacted to make your appointment. Just take your  time  going through it maybe 30 minutes  it's  basically  one page just a couple things on the back if  I remember  correctly  don't  have it in front  of me now .

tried applying to Delaware county online. filled everything out and it wouldn't let me get past putting nj as the state .

I applied  online  at Delco on 2-20 hadn't  heard anything  so i called Delco Sheriff  office  on 2-28 spoke to a very nice lady who said there processing fast as they can and they  were  up to people  who had submitted  on 2-12 she said hang in there it woud just be a couple of weeks  I'll  post when i hear back from them.

What was the application process there? Went to the Delco site and there was nothing specific for a non resident application.

Not sure if this is the right post to ask this but does anyone have a permit with 'None' ticked for restrictions but...below that lists the firearms you qualified with?  So which is it...no restrictions or are you restricted to the firearms listed?

On mine the side with the picture has "Employee of armored car company" but it is not checked. Doesn't mention anything about restrictions and doesn't list guns I qualified with. Just the armored car thing, picture, my signature and "this card may be laminated". Does that mean I can carry anything I own??

I’m on my phone, but I see 11 topics on page 1 alone specifically about CCW weapons, mindset, and associated gear from wallets to holsters for us fat guys.

You just looking to be cranky about something (I get like that sometimes)? Or did you not have your coffee yet (I also get like this)?

Had to laugh!  I think alittle of both, LOL  My bad, it was 1st 3 pages I started reading. I see now the last 3 are on topic. Now for my coffee!

  6. Concealed Carry

For topics and discussions about concealed carry weapons, belts, holsters, clothing.
    - This is not the place for law discussion

Went through the first 3 pages and not one mention of " discussions about concealed carry weapons, belts, holsters, clothing". However there was 3 pages of law discussion "

How dare I get a root canal and 6 hours sleep without reporting here to everyone!

Patriots that are "So-Called" showed up FOR YOU yesterday. NO, we don't show our cards to let everyone know which shoe drops first. Stop being the same petulant child that needs a spanking the likes of which our opposition got yesterday.

We're all volunteers. We have lives too. CNJFO sent an email blast, so did you get it? No? Maybe it's time to JOIN or at least sign-up for FREE EMAILS??

    You're welcome!

This has been my assumption for all of the delays and the PDs "waiting for further guidance".

I'll remember that next time I get a moving violation. I'm going to notify the PD and Court that I am awaiting further guidance until I move forward with paying any fines.

If they can wait for the laws to change prior to taking action, instead of adhering to the current statutes, so can I, no?

    Of course

OK, so you are saying that Rambo’s quote of “the firearm MUST be in a holster” is not law, it’s just your opinion of what we should do to avoid a charge?

I thought this was a discussion of firearm laws?

I also think it’s a bit rude for you to go back and edit almost every one of your posts to add something that you didn’t say the first time. It has significantly changed the conversation.

An example would be you editing a post to add this:

”It's also just common sense and really stupid to argue not using a quality holster anyway.”

I never argued not using a holster. I am asking what law says we MUST use a holster and what qualifies as a holster according to that law.

I thought this was a discussion of firearm laws?

Wrong. this is suppose to be a discussion of carry permit application experiences.

  10. My understanding is you don't need to take a safety course. Quote from NJSP update " The applicant is not mandated to complete an LEOPIC firearms proficiency course. The applicant is only required to demonstrate  safe handling of a firearm to their certified firearms instructor". I assume you do this by qualifying at a range. My research shows that entailed shooting from the ready position, 50 rounds at a FBI Q target, 24rds @7yds, 14 rds @ 10yds, 6rds @ 15yds and 6rds @ 25Yds. Can someone post what the actual qualification was and what form was used to submit. I know a certified instructor but does he just give a letter or is there an actual form?

The form that I downloaded is found at: https://nj.gov/njsp/firearms/pdf/sp-066.pdf

CONSENT FOR MENTAL HEALTH RECORDS SEARCH

It is dated 01-15 and does contain the fields asking for two previous addresses if required to cover a 10 year span. Can you share links to the forms you found? Thanks.

I've been doing so much online searching I honestly don't remember what site I got it from, but here's a copy of it

I signed my mental health form at the Police Station in front of the clerk who received the application and she witnessed it. There was no spot for it to be notarized.

Got it , thanks. Which form did you use, with or without past address's

Do you have a link to instructions showing that the consent form for mental health records search (S. P. 066) must be witnessed by whomever you turn your form into? Because I had someone else witness mine. I have the completed, unsigned form saved as a pdf, so It woiuld be trivial to print another copy without a witness name and signature, but it would be annoying to show up and be told I did it wrong...

NJSP Woodbine has the "buzz-in" lobby door set-up, but not the darkened glass. OTOH, I think they may have been trained to mumble their name in such a way as to make it unintelligible when they answer the phone. I have yet to speak to anyone there that I didn't need to ask their name at least a second time...

yes filled out and printed several copies.
