What if I bought the BB rifle in nj, can I just put in my trunk, travel to MD and give it to my nephew? Or would I have to do a transfer with a FFL.

I just picked the long gun up. After I get a chance to sight in the scope, I'll let you know how good it shoots at 100 yds.

I'm just starting to get into Long rifles and came across this one. I'm not long on cash so this seemed to meet my price range of $500-600. I prefer bolt actions with detachable magazines for easier reloading. I've seen others in this cal (remington 700 / Tikka T3 / Thompson ) but they all seem to be in the next range $700 and up. If I'm only gonna be at the range 100-200 yards, will I be content with this rifle as a starter.

Thanks for the info. I'll continue my research and do a solid comparison for my liking and make a selection. Appreciate the details you provided. It's a great start for getting mine.

What about the Ruger Scout .308? I read a recent article and it stated that if you only had 1 rifle, this would be the one to own. Any comments from those that are long time owners of Rem or Browning? Is this rifle in the same class?
