  1. I know this might be a very random and difficult to answer question. I also realize that no one ever actually gets in trouble for owning an "evil" rifle. If someone was to build some rifles that would be legal in non-communist states, but kept the lower and upper separate, what would be the legality? I realize that a lot of these type of questions are not completely answerable because there is no precedent; I just wanted to hear the consensus, The reason I ask is that I would like to build a few more rifles, and being a military guy I hope and pray everyday that I get orders out of this garbage pile I have been forced to live in for the past 10 years. Thoughts?

  2. I need to make a list of the online ammo suppliers that are price gouging. I think it's ridiculous that they are taking advantage of this situation. I can understand private sellers price gouging to an extent, but unless these businesses are paying a ridiculous premium (which they are not), the markup is insane. If local stores can sell at reasonable prices so can the online retailers, and the charge up to $1.50 a round for .223 is just stupid. I won't be buying from a lot of places anymore.

  3. I'm going to be buying my 7 yr old a Savage Rascal here shortly. I told him he could have it for his 8th birthday but I'm the one that doesn't want to wait lol. He shoots my Mossberg Tactical but as someone else mentioned he just kind of blasts away until the mag is empty. Lever action is too difficult for him to manage so I think bolt or single-shot would be best.

  4. Just had an excellent 30 minute phone conversation with Assemblyman Charles Mainor. He seemed extremely receptive to the position of the pro-gun crowd, even though he admittedly was not in the past. I think the fact that he got a chance to hear from some level-headed gun owners made a huge difference. He promised to do what he can to put forth reasonable legislation that would actually reduce gun violence, instead of the currently proposed bills that simply make life more difficult, and potentially more expensive for the law-abiding gun owner. He mentioned harsher penalties for crimes committed with firearms, a look at ways to hold doctors accountable for over-prescribing potentially dangerous medication for mental illness, and a more aggressive approach in getting illegal guns off the streets. He specifically said that rifles are not the problem, and magazine limits do absolutely nothing. Good guy in my book just for taking the time of out his day to listen to the other side of things.

  5. Honestly you have to think about it from their position. They are fighting a federal attack on the 2nd AmendmAnt right now. NY, NJ, California, Mass are losing battles. We have NJ2AS thank God, but I am pretty sure the NRA isn't too worried about using its resources to sway individual state governments right now. It sucks but that's why I will be moving south when my enlistment is up. Unfortunately, this just isn't the state for people like us.

  6. Dicks refused to sell me ammo today because my driver's license is NY. I have a NJ FID, my NY license, and my military ID. They said if I lived on base I could show a copy of my orders but sinc I live off base there is no way around it. I will never go back there for anything even if I decide to get a NJ driver's license. The guy tried to tell me the State Police told him that was the process. I told him that is absolutely not the case and he didn't know what he was talking about although it might be store policy. This was rifle and shotgun ammo mind you. Arms N Ammo or Cheyenne I go.

  7. I posted this in the ammo section before I realized there is no traffic in there.

I hate to send them any business as they refused to sell me the ammo since I am military with an out-of-state license but I want to help some of the forum guys out. If anyone has a spouse with an ID or something and wants to pick me up 3 boxes that'd be awesome.

Dicks on 541 had about 15 boxes of Remington .223 and a bunch of 9mm. 3 box maximum. Might be more in the back who knows.

  8. Phone conversation. And you can't just record people without telling them and I doubt he would agree. I'm not going to attack the man, and I suggest that any of you that think attacking these people publically or during a private phone call please just voice your opinion through Ruger.com where everything is typed out for you and avoid making the rest of us look bad. They think we are crazy people. Acting like crazy people is the LAST thing we need to be doing. As someone else said, I'm sure most are just thinking out loud, but some aren't.

A friend of mine called the BUrlington Country Rep's office recently and was told that they are overrun with people calling and writing about their opposition to new gun laws so we all need to keep it up. I hope we can do at least a little bit of good.

  9. Bhunted that will be my exact approach. We cannot come off as gun-crazed psychos. That is exactly what they want. I plan to address specifically the magazine limit, any further restrictions on assault rifles, online ammo sales, the .50 cal ridiculousness, and briefly rifle slug barrels. I want to bring up CCW as well since, to be honest, the fact that I can't CCW in this state is what annoys me the most. I'd be willing to settle on 10 round mags personally if I could carry because changing mags takes like 5 seconds.

  10. We'll see if I even actually get to talk to him or if this also ends in a voicemail exchange. That could be his standard response but I did have a few emails back and forth with him and he seemed responsive and was quick to reply. I am impressed that he even puts forth this much effort 99.9% of them give you the standard pre-typed email response. Can't hurt to have a chat with him if I get the opportunity.
