  1. You only have to attend another Sunday safety briefing if its been more than two years since you were a member.
  2. Were you happy with Rahway Firearms Guild? Did you have both NJ things done by them ..... stock and muzzle brake? Mind saying how much they charged you? Did they have your parts/gun a long time? Thanks Jim
  3. .. . RifleGear has 15-round/20-case Magpul "NJ" magazines back in stock today. $35, limit of 5 A few weeks ago, I bought a 1000-round case of Federal American Eagle .223 for $500 from Natchez. That same day, CheaperThanDirt was selling the exact same case for $999
  4. I bit the bullet and ordered a set of folding Troy Battle Sights, as they will be the only sights on the gun for some time until I buy an optic for it. About twice the price of a set of the Magpul's .... hope it was worth it. I was going to take the quality scope off my Remington 700 and use that, but realized that I want to stay sharp with the .308 and keep shooting it during my trips to my range. This is a great website .... I have lots to read. Thanks Jim
  5. Can you use different brands of sights together? Such as Magpul MBUS at the rear, with a Troy up front? Or, should they be bought as a set from one manufacturer? Thanks
  6. I'm one of those people getting their first AR in this crazy envirorement, and am learing along the way. The below Adams Arms Upper Assy will be here tomorrow. I wish to buy a set of back-up folding sights, front and rear, such as Magpul MBUS GEN II. Magpul states not to mount the front sight on a gas block because of heat. My gas block has a rail on it, looking at the photo, right? Can I use the Magpul? How are things mounted to the Picatinny Rail in general? Never had one in my hands. "Dove Tail" shaped mounting? Many websites seemingly differentiate between "front sight" and "gas block sight," but they seem to mount the same? Can you suggest some sets of back-up folding sights for my gun? Not the most expensive, but good quality. Thanks alot. This completed AR is family gift .... and I need to get it together quickly.
  7. Since the online retailer will only ship the upper assy to my billing address since this my first order, I'll remove the lower/pistolgrip from my house to be legal. My thoughts were to attach a muzzle brake to the barrel myself, at home. A friend asked me to weld on a muzzle brake onto his AK varient. I just quickly welded the brake to the threads in one spot with my little MIG welder. Now, I realize I want a proper, nice looking job. I wish I could use the forum's PK90, but I am in northern Morris County. I am in the area of Firearms Guild in Rahway sometimes, think I'll check them out, as Gun Powder Addict mentioned. (I actually grew up near there .... that place used to be Charlie Brenners Sport Shop). I also have a collapsible stock coming, that I'll have to do something with. Thanks, guys
  8. My first AR ... old duck hunter here. I have a S&W M & P stripped lower and a DPMS kit for it. I've decided to buy a complete upper assy for it, instead of building one. I'm monitoring all the online sources for the opportunity to buy one. Probably one built by Adams Arms. Has anyone had a problem with an online retailer refusing to ship to NJ an upper assy with a flash hider installed on it ? And, all these barrels come threaded, right? Without a flash hider permanently attached? So I can change it out to a muzzle break. (BTW, there is no "Search" feature for these forums, right?) Great website! Thanks, guys.
