Can you bring it into your local ps to get extended at any time or does it have to be a week before it expires?

It sure as hell isn't cheaper than dirt !!! I was looking through their magazine today, and american eagle 9mm 124gr was $59.00 a box of 50 WTF...
I thought gun owners should never buy anything from them again. I won't even look there based on things I've heard.

Not sure how convenient it is to you, but Heritage Guild in Easton, PA has bunch of H&K handguns to try out. As everyone else has said, you can't go wrong with RTSP or Woodland Park. Just keep in mind that RTSP has long waits on weekends, but hopefully that will change with their expansion.
I'm unemployed right now so weekdays are good too. I have some extra time on my hands. I'd be open to taking a trip out to Easton it's not that far. A little over an hour. They have a bunch so that's probably where I'm going to go.
Is it a problem to try out 3-4 guns in one visit? Is that poor etiquette?

new shooters have to watch a quick saftey video and a range officer can assist you with everything you need, They had a few different ones, some reason the web inventory doesnt match in store, and the inv rental books have slight differences in inventory
Hmm, okay. Thanks!

Yes I am a member there and rented a few before I bought my P30
Awesome! Thanks so much. Couple questions for you:
How are they there with new shooters?
Will I be able to get some extra instruction?
Are the HK's there V1's?

Just curious why you want an HK if you never shot any guns before? I hope your logic isn't the most $$ = best gun. Glock and Beretta are half the price for the same reliability and quality. Not to mention mags and accessories are more available and cheaper for Glock and Beretta.
Aren't there some 1911's that are way more than HK's? It has nothing to do with the money. I like the look of the gun and I like how all I've read is that they are some of the most reliable guns people have and they have no problems with just about any kind of ammo. At the end of the day I just want what I think looks good and functions well without any problems. I'm not overly concerned with the cost of mags.
I had originally want a sig p226 or p229.

Heritage guild in Easton has a few HK for rent
I noticed that on their website. Have you been there and seen them/used them?

I'm looking to get my hands on some HK's before I get my first. I've never shot before and I'm looking for a good place that's noob friendly. Is it uncommon to find someone who will offer up some instruction on your first outing? I'm currently looking at RTSP.

Cabelas ships to NJ. I order from them all the time.
Do you know if midway does?
-
What are you looking for?
.45 acp
-
Thanks. I've heard about some places who won't ship to NJ. I thought Cabelas was one of them.
-
Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks all!

Don't own anything yet...but HK's

For those who mentioned gunforhire, do you know if any H&K pistols will be available through them or do they depend on the range to offer a selection?
-
Where are some good places to take it? Or who are some good people to take it with? Not sure if anyone will know but I figured I'd ask.
I was thinking about going to Heritage in PA since their website says they have a bunch of H&K handguns to use and I want my first gun to be a 45 Tactical.
Thanks fellas!

Are they legal here, or illegal? I think this might be the most confused topic I've seen on the internet. Answers vary from yes to no and everything in between.

I was told it will take 4 months. That was a downer. However, the Parsippany office was closed and she let me drop it off anyway.
Does anyone know what is on the questionnaire or letter they send out to your references?

Anyone know if a threaded barrel is legal in NJ. I thought it was illegal but I am reading otherwise now. I'm hoping someone has a definitive answer.
-
Awesome. Really appreciate the info guys.

My cousin just asked me a good question. He wanted know if he should lie and say he isn't my cousin. I told him no, and not to lie. Will they ask him how he knows me and will it be a problem if he says he's my cousin? I keep very few people close to me and have tons of acquaintances but there are very few people I'd want to ask to be a reference on this. I know way too many liberal and anti-gun people.

He has a different last name. After reading that, I'm assuming I don't have to bring the mental health record form with me?

I'm planning on dropping my paperwork off soon in Parsippany. Anything I should have a heads up about? I read somewhere it took someone else about 3 months to get a response.
Also, anyone know if it's okay to use a cousin as a reputable persons.
