I go to my new town's local PD. My own fault for not realizing a change of address requires you to go through the process AGAIN (i.e. fingerprint, fee, etc.)...silly me for thinking there'd be an efficient process. Then the guy behind the counter essentially hints it'll be a 6 month wait...so i effectively cannot buy pistol ammo or go to the range for 1/2 my lease? Wonderful Jersey...

Super late, but thanks again everyone for their replies. Went with the aimpoint and love it! Anyone have any opinions as to whether a magnifier for the aimppoint pro is worth it for plinking at 200-300 yards with my Windham? Am i better off just saving money for an ACOG or scope?

Despite the requirement that an FID be issued within 30 days under 2C:58-3.f, it is apparent to most people this just doesn't occur. Has anyone tried to file an order to show cause or otherwise legally "enforce" this statutory requirement for a 30-day response? Recently moved and I find it ridiculous I need to wait 1/2 a year or so again to get my change of address completed on my FID...

Anyone planning to go in July? I need some serious help with my Sig p250. I'm fine indoors but something about the heat, the DA and the 15 yard minimum kills my accuracy ...

Thanks, guys! appreciate the good old South Jersey support. I currently shoot my rifle and pistol at Range-14, but hope to join SJSC once I can save up some more money and after my wedding (which luckily is next month).

Good point. Using this for range. I'd like to eventually have a verasile build to have consistent groups from 50-200 yards. I know a carbine may not be ideal for long distance but still would like to play around with it.

Just ordered the magpul sites! Clerk tried to get me to buy them but wanted to wait for approval from this community. I'll look into these other things as well. Do you use a vertical foregrip or recommend one? (Sorry if wrong term still new to firearms and this is my first AR)

Thanks everyone for input. Learned a lot especially about my rookie mistake thinking .357 magnum same as .357 Sig. I'll definitely put the thought of getting that in my back pocket. But now I (randomly) got turned onto getting a mosin nagant. Time to post and learn again in this great community.

Thank you, both for your responses. Blue - I'd def consider and appreciate your offer. Question, is the slide for a .357 different from that of a .40 (eg the recoil system)? Edit: I know Maksim addressed above (thank you) was just curious about the recoil spring question.

I love my P250 compact in .40S&W. Thinking about buying the .357 full size xchange kit. Anyone have any insight (good or bad)? Do you like shooting .357 from the p250? In part my thinking was this will save.me the money and hassle for applying for, and buying, new HG.

I don't mind going up there. I've avoided it because I heard it is extremely regimented (not that safety is a problem), but I do not want someone breathing down my neck the entire time I paid for my lane. However, if this is my only choice, maybe I have to just suck it up until I can afford Central Jersey's Capital Payment...

All, I (finally) got my hands on my first handgun (Sig P250) and I am looking for a good public outdoor handgun range in the Greater South Jersey or Philadelphia area. I am looking to avoid a private range at this time because I won't have the time to go to the range too often (i.e. to justify the membership cost). I enjoy shooting at the Junior Marksman Club in Delran but I believe there pistol range is still under construction. Any suggestions is much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm in love with trap shooting and also recently submitted my P2P (just one). I was told 30 day wait (*crosses fingers*). 1) In the meantime, does anyone recommend any good dealers for me to check out re: my first handgun? Thanks to an older thread here, and everyone's awesome input, I am looking for a P250, M&P40, Beretta 92 FS or anything else that may spark my interest. Also, since I love trap/skeet, any dealers that BOTH have great H/G and O/U selections would be much appreciated. 2) Is it common/OK for me to ask if I can put a deposit down until my permit goes through? 3) Any benefit to buying in NJ or PA?
