The above thread details a failure to feed when the 2nd round cross crosses the first with PMAGs.
If I load to 14 and manually push down the second round into place the magazine loads closed breech.
-
That doesn't make sense. If the follower has the vertical clearance to accept rounds 10-15, it has the same clearance to load against a closed bolt up until the 15th round. Can you test it in another AR?
Whether it makes sense or not it's exactly what is happening.
I'm shooting with friends in early October so that would be the first opportunity I'll have to try it in other rifles.
-
Does it fit more than nine rounds at all?
Yes - fits 15 as expected, but needs the bolt open to accept it with any more than 9 inserted.
-
Say what?
If you want to insert the mag loaded you can only put 9 rounds in. The rifle will not accept it after you put 10 in unless you open the bolt.
So you need to download by 6 from its stated 15 capacity.
-
Download mag by one round or load on an open bolt
It's download by 6 (works at 9)... I'll probably go with the open bolt.

Never used those. So I wouldn't be able to comment on it. My buddy bought his from mtnarmory.com and those will not load on a closed bolt. Again I'm sure it's because of how they are blocked. Did you try loading 14 rounds in the mag and then see if the mag loads on a closed bolt?
Works through loading 9. At 10 no go. That was an interesting test ... Go figure ?
-
It's more than likely how they are blocked.

They are from MidwestPX

Are these pmags blocked to 15 rounds? If they are, it may be due to how they are blocked. I bought a couple from bullseye tactical supply and they load fine with 15 rounds on a closed bolt. My buddy ordered some online (can't remember the site right now) and they do not load on a closed bolt.
Yes they are blocked ...

Should an MP 15 sport accept a PMAG without first pulling back the charging handle ? I took my new MP 15 Sport to the range for the first time today (I'm new to the AR15 platform) and could insert the stock magazine no problem with the breech open or closed . The PMAG required that the breech be open / charged to accept the magazine.
Thanks!

What are your guys' opinions on the Ranger Plate ?

Any idea what the ownership rates are in NJ?

Thanks for all the responses. I ordered from Midwest also! Never would have located them without the forums help !

So can we hope for republicans to take control of the state senate and assembly in November and craft some friendly legislation ?

I'm relatively new and getting back into the sport after a long hiatus. I picked up two p2p's last year and picked up a Glock 23 and a Browning Buckmark Hunter. I figured one carries a decent punch and the other makes for inexpensive practice when you can find 22lr.
I recently put in for a few more p2p's. I was wondering what others here would recommend I research as my possible next purchases.
I've been considering a Bodyguard .380 or a 1911 but at this point I'm totally open.
On a side note does the Gen 4 recoil spring truly knock down the kick of the .40. I don't feel it as being particularly snappy and prior to purchase I read some people didn't like it.
Before purchase I rented a G22 (slightly heavier) and didn't find it all the bad.
Thanks all!
Oh - and I'm really enjoying the forum!

Thanks for the quick response. I just signed up for the in stock notification.

Can anyone recommend a mail order house where you can order a factory 15 round AR magazine (not pinned)
Thanks !
-
Wish I could buy those!
Where do you guys like to mail order ammo from ?
Any recommendations for ammo right over the PA border off of 78 or 80?
Thanks !

"Songify" the news. Biden's comments put to song. Pretty hilarious.

I don't know about you but I was hitting reload on the site at least ever 5 minutes yesterday afternoon.
I was getting nervous when business hours closed and he approved the medical MJ and still no word on the gun bills.

I also believe it's a victory. Not losing something is the same as gaining something. Just look at the comments online. The other side is up in arms. At a minimum it puts the move to PA off another 4 years. If we can get a Republican legislature in November and CC gets his conservative NJ Supreme Court nominations confirmed who knows what could happen?
I also want to thank everyone on the forum as it was a great place to go to keep up with what was going on and for getting information on how to contact CC and take some positive action.
I'm celebrating this weekend!

Guess we'll know soon enough?

Now they are saying he will " conditionally " veto the bills so he can push off any real decision.

Thank You. Didn't realize it was comments on the link he posted.
Sure thing you are welcome. Hopefully we can get some posts with our point of view out there !
