  1. The Browning that was stolen, that I had to return? Well if I didnt thank you before consider this an official thank you very much. Anyway, its all water under the bridge, plenty of other customers out there for you, plenty of other shops out there for me, take care.

I know about some people who got stolen guns from there and when all was said and done the people lost there money as well as the gun of course, it seems our state could care less who loses there money on these deals .

  2. Joe used to be about quick turn over, keep everyone happy, make a profit, keep a customer. He is not the only one deciding prices these days in his shop and that has led to "internet pricing", which has me decide to go elsewhere. I used to buy and sell in there every week, and yes the senior selling traffic is something to see, but he threw me a price on a gun a widow has just came in with that made my head spin. Of course he is free to make his own prices, when the rest of the shop lets him, but financially he lost a customer who gave him much more profit than he would have made off that one sale, hes a nice guy, but he lost me.

SNEAKY, and he has a plan, buyer def. beware of that smile on his face. and if u do a layaway don't miss a payment if he needs money and gave you a great deal cause he will sell that gun right out from under the bus he threw you under.  god bless be safe. concerned shooter...

    •                      My wife and I had to go to a surgical supply company very close to Guns and Roses, so I thought we'd stop in there today.  We walked in to a cramped jammed store that was crowded with both some merchandise and a few people.  What I assume was the owner's wife almost immediately said "Someone will be with you shortly" as she went outside with her 2 chihuahuas....that was the last positive thing that happened there.  There were 3 apparent insiders at the counter....the eldest seemed to playing games buying 2 Colt wheel guns.  He kept hemming and hawing and mentioning something about another gun they had there that they couldn't find-I have no idea if it was being held for him or was there on consignment.

Another potential customer came in with a bandaged knee. He mentioned he had his artificial knee replaced again and after stating he didn't care if anyone there was Jewish complained about the Jewish doctor who told him his problems were all related to arthritis, not a bad prosthetic.  Fine, that's just a customer and I chalked it up to ignorance.

The counter-blockers continued the discussion on the guns when who I'm pretty sure what was Joe (the owner) said " alright Mr stein, steen, or berg, and repeated it several times.  I decided at that point after waiting over 20 minutes to speak to somebody, I had had enough and motioned to my wife, who had accompanied me, to leave.  I obviously won't be returning.

He permanently lost me as a customer.....I had cash, a fresh open Permit to Purchase, and was looking for something that seemed a lot like that original box Diamondback that "customer" guy was pawing.  I'm Jewish, am a frequent firearms purchaser, and have a lot of friends-both members and non-members of my tribe.  I'll be sure to mention my experience to them and anyone else who will listen.

I've done quite a bit of selling and purchasing on Gunbroker and Guns America, but have tried to support the local shops as much as I can.  I had hoped I could add this place to the collection of local guys I've grown to know, respect, and patronize.  Guess you can't always get what you want.

  3. Again thanks guys/gals for all your info, it was as I expected the law would be, the only thing I have left is a receipt from the dealer with out the serial number on the receipt from the dealer that sold it to me.  I am now having problems with that same dealer trying to retieve my last couple guns from there of which one of the employee's from this site works there. But my concerns is if he did this to me who knows what might still be going on there.  As far as that employee he was not involved in that sale but again I do have a receipt that was filled out by this dealer's employee, no longer there for stealing from him, maybe, so I was told by owner.  I still have one handgun still there in which he is now adding fees and more in order for me to get my handgun out of there, and with the added fee's which were never posted or ever told to me prior to me buying the gun is going to be not only ridiculous but expensive for me and this is in retaliation against me.  Not to mention I have spent upwards of thousands at this place and I do mean thousands, multiple handgun thousands. I never heard of a 65 dollar transfer fee to another close by dealer who is willing to pick it up for me for free.  sorry I got off topic but it has lots to do with the subject at hand,,  but thanks so much for all your help, a great site for sure... God Bless.  N  BE SAFE.

  4. well I must say that I was rolling my eye at these but now with the great reviews I will have to check them out and likely get one when my other stuff is paid up to date. thanks for the help even tho I didn't ask for it. or did I , lol...

  5. I haven't either myself but there is a company that should be a concern .. .     I wont post it in public but a pm to me will get my answer.... I don't know how everything works on the site but I am not looking to make enemies with anyone here.  I do think this is a nice place to be in to talk guns etc.

  6. Not sure anyone mentioned or i may have my chemo brain tonight but for those new to multiple handgun applications you can apply for that as well, now im not sure but some FFL i ran into (she) said a person can apply for as many as 100 handguns which is EXEMPT from the one hand gun a month (30 days) .  but if im wrong with this message i brought here about the 100 guns, please someone correct me so i can correct the woman who told me, but then her husband agreed to it as well, then again i dont take them seriously about much of what there are suppose to know. ok done, but im doing the multiple now for 20 weapons and hope it goes thru soon as my chemo treatments are coming soon.   god bless us and country.

  7. If I might jump in here, first nice meet you all. I just want to say that I have neither one , SR-22 or the MK-lll but I do have both coming in soon. both are nice guns with the AWE effect going to the MK., but I do have a GSG 1911=22 semi and its a nice shooter but im sure not as nice as the MK. I to have the stop buying guns O'le Lady and she makes no trade off unless its a $3K., trip somewhere but then I must admit I have gotten over that since I use her idea to take a DAY LONG DEEP SEA FISHING TRIP, LOL, but im still at a loss but with all the free stuff I must admit (not to her though) that I enjoy the time being waited on and the day fishing alone..   Lastly, my cost for the RUGER SR22 was at $275... but it came with of course the laser but also with about a hundred dollars worth of extra's, so I say find a way to keep that little gem. go buy a toy gun put it in your gun case go to the shop and come back with your new toy, ... just my two  2 Cents, if I have any left after chemo. lol... good luck.

  8. I lived there with my wife for some years, with family in boonton/Whippany, but my friend Mark Mashberg whom I knew for 30 yrs. and is passed now was someone who knew many ppl up there and I was curious whether you may have known him or not. His father was an oral surgeon, lived up the hill from me off ten, but anyway if u did that would be interesting. thanks for getting back to me.  I don't remember or not if I told you but I did buy that VZ-58, the CIA model just did not do it for me, and I love the Milled unit, although not a very good finish job on it, ie; swirls from being milled but one day I may fix that not sure. New they are $950.oo I think... thanks ttys. PAUL....

  9. Junkmanted thanks for your reply and to answer your question about the mags, I am not sure if its a NJ thing but I have the single not the double stack, but they do give you 2 mags with it, and not steel or metal of any sort, but a smoked version of something, lol.    Yes I went ahead and bought it and for some reason when the guy asked me to put half down and pay it off within a week that is just what I did.  Unknowingly to me when I got to his shop he wanted to take the guns deposit of $360.** and apply it to my last purchase of a COLT 1870 for which I had half down on that too, he said he wanted me to pay off the COLT first and would apply all money's to that then he would hold the VZ58 for me, yeah right, all I can say is I spent about 5K with this guy and now the rules change since I had a revolving credit with him for 8 months then he changed his tune,  oh well. more about him later.  THE VZ58 is a nice gun and I like the fact it is MILLED not stamped but then we all know the AK's are shooting machines no matter what the environment due to less than tight tolerances of the gun.  Anyway I was looking for some info before I bought it but right now I have not fired it and so since I have bulk ammo of 7.62x39 I think I will enjoy shooting this or maybe just hold onto it since out west I am seeing these things go for as much as $2K. with layaway, or $1895.00 bin. lol.  Thanks for the reply though cause I enjoy meeting others with similar knowledge and interest, and I see your from LIVINGSTON, NJ, That is my home town, I lived right off rt.10 across from the dinner and just up from the town center, remember the theater that was there or before your time. >>??  The place has changed so much since I was there. well if ok I will ad you to my friends list.  look forward to talking again. PS:  I paid only $700.oo for the vz58 which is why I think he wanted it back to HOLD FOR ME LOL, knew he made a mistake.  hahaha  I don't care when I beat a SNEAK at his own game. lol Liars and thieves are a person's two worst enemies.  HOW LONG U UP THERE>>?? YOUR AROUND OUR AGE>

  10. Hi guys n gals if any women in here, anyway I got a call from a relative that he is buying a CZECH - USA Variant AK rifle, he is in new jersey and explained the milled recvr thing and polymer furniture on it and from the pics it looks very SLEEK and AWESOME from my point of view, (for what ever that might be worth LOL) I was looking for a SKS Norinco or another but I think to many are jumping the gun on new bans these days, anyway does anyone have any, ANY Experience with these rifles,?? ie; handled them, shot one, bought and sold one and why or anything you can lend support for or not to buy one.??  This is the one that was IMPORTED in by CZ-USA and then or now by CZECH POINT or what ever it is but it seems to be a hard one to find/get hold of but I have the opportunity of grabbing one of these as a USED But never Shot weapon with Box, CD., and rifle of course and in 7.62x39   TWO Mags and what ever else comes with it new.  The $PRICE I have been quoted is $700.oo  Seven Hundred, plus nics no tax and out the door.  I am new here and appreciate a real veteran's point of VIEW on this.  I know of the century take on this and a few others but I think I like this gun.  thanks in advance and the quicker the better as I am in line as FIRST on the LIST, my deadline is Tomorrow by 6pm.   TY.    new guy  PAUL.   this is the  CZ  VZ-58  ak variant milled model etc.... I looked and looked on here for this kind of subject but could not get a clear picture of what I am looking for, so sorry if I re-posted an old post.

  11. DICKS has a special for the 500 with scope and rifled barrel for only 349. I think, but not for HD. great deer gun for the money. good luck...  although I like the rem. 870 also on sale there w/o rifled barrel, same price, but for deer a HASTINGS Barrel is best. . happy thanks giving all.   ps: I just don't see hunting mixing with HD. JMO. thanks.

  12. First to the gentleman who is buying the HENRY, the price is a good one, and likely the best your gonna find, and I own several just for the company or family that show up to play, and they are usually tack drivers, and such a SMooooooooth  SMooooth  ACTION. and if u bought a used one which I just did get another the other day in exc. shape but it had a scope and that was 275.00 so used in great shape or new doesn't really matter  IMHO. great gun.   FOR the SAFE, I could not wait till now and already got my safe, one of the pro series, 48 plus 8 and a few xtra's for it, but I paid $799. on sale, and for me it was a BEAR to put in the house, two people.  But so damn heavy that no one was walking away with the contents that way, and the door was plenty beefed for me, and two (2) keys of course to open if needed, and along with all that weight, just think how hard it is to get in the house, its gonna take a crane to get it out, cause I will never try that again, so me selling mine for a bigger one is out of the question, just get another safe at that point. LMAO...        I read it was better to get the ELECTRONIC KEY PAD opposed to the DIAL IN STYLE even though it looks cooler but, mainly due to the amount of time it takes to redo the input of #'s, makes sense, and I like my electronic key pad...

  13. Hunting Pa. Whitetail we never found a need to sight in @ more or less than the 100 yard mark. @ 50 your a bit high, (of course ammo details can change things but we shoot for the same beast every year so ammo will always be the key factor to a sight in. )  change your ammo = redo the sight in, or redo the sight in for that particular bullet and area being hunted. ie; knowing your shooting @ minimum 150 - 250 then a sight in for flat land is of course at 200, I apply this or did every year till I got Sick. hope it helps. make it simple as others are saying, ITS the bad shakes we get that screws me up, LOL, ok sometimes. now I don't have to worry about it. at least for now. great question. great site. glad to be hear.

  14. Just my 2 cents and a bit of chemo brain, but I just bought one of the DICKS pro series, and they have a few on sale like someone else said for the $299 mark, which I believe to be possibly cabinet, but for a bit more like 399 or so you may get what some think a real safe. I do know the 64 gun plus 4 safe is on sale for 699. and that's a great deal. yes I know he said 3 or under but sometimes a little push by friends is a good thing, you need to decide what you have, what its all worth, get more insurance, and decide what your pocketbook says then.  im just a firm believer u get what u pay for, even if it means the best of the LOW END, np with HF sometimes. its all good but I am one of those who had a very nice gun gone and for good, had no safe. let us know what u get.   god bless.

  15. Thanks guys, on that 1903 question.   my gut feeling was the same as all of your answer's for each scenario involved.  And although I Love the gun because it really is a good specimen of a 1903, I guess it will not be for me.  I was also asking : IF an FFL had this 1903 (and no not trying to cause him issue's) BUT for me this is about a trust issue, SO, knowing what you all told me now about the 1903, wouldn't or shouldn't the FFL know all of the same things you all told me ?  and if he did know why would he try to sell it to one of his good customer's knowing that if someone was to buy it could get in trouble.???  ...   I am disappointed that after all the guns I have bought off of him and he tries to sell me something that is really illegal and could possibly cause me LEGAL ISSUES with the LAW. So in short what are the FFL's responsibility in all of this and is it ILLEGAL FOR HIM TO SELL IT...?  thanks all, GREAT SITE. I expect to be a member for a long long TIME.  BY the way I am running fast from the 1903... :-(

  16. Hi all, I'm new here and so glad to meet you all.  I have already bought some items and that was an easy thing for both of us, but getting to my question that is in line of what is being talked about here I am having a similar issue in new jersey where as an FFL wants to sell me a 1903  Springfield and where the serial # was to be is now  a few FLAT spots where the S/N was  ??filed off or what ever off.  I like the gun as it is in good cond.  So to follow the same lines here sorta,   can an FFL SELL the Rifle to me from his shop legally without any issues or is there something he should or needs to do before making the transfer and is there anything on my end that I must do in order to be LEGAL if im not when I buy it ???   and am I allowed to OWN such a Rifle and take it to Pa., to shoot it a few times and then put it away, my concern is getting stopped by NJSP and asking me to open my Rifle Case, then seeing the rifle has no ser. #., on it. ANY INPUT is appreciated ,    but it does have some #'s on it, such as at the muzzle, year, month, day. and some other marks down the gun in general.  I must say I got a BIG LAUGH about the comment that in NJ we don't know whats up, down, on, off, bayonette, or its lug, etc etc....such is new jersey screwed up gun laws.  my YUGO SKS good example on that.         LMAO   Thanks for your opinion and time and hope everyone is having a great hunting season.  god bless.      JAZZ

  17. Hi all, just thought I would stop in since this is the new guys thread here for an intro, just want to say I love guns in a variety of ways, and no not that way, lol, but I am really on a learning curve sorta and I look forward to picking up some good info/help and also meeting some good people here, maybe even doing a meet and greet if someone is close enough.  So there it is and im gonna pay close attention but I will have questions as well. Good meeting you all and ready to roll.       JAZZ
