Also. Yes. Ketchup belongs on hot dog if you are ten years old or less. Other than that its mustard. Frenches yellow. Oh boy here we go again.
Yellow mustard?? You must be from Indiana (or somewhere in the Midwest). Guldens Brown!

Catbirds?? Should be shot on sight!
They ruined one of my best tomato crops a few years ago. Took nibbes out of every near ripe tomato.
I couldn't figure it out and even called Rutgers Extension. Then I saw them pecking at the tomatoes one day.
Aarrgh!!!

taylor ham.
Every year I send a friend/client in Minnesota 2 whole hams for his birthday. Now all his friends are clamoring for it. It's their ice fishing breakfast staple.
Growing up in Lodi and a landscaper, lawns would be 2 feet high if it wasn't for taylor ham-Egg-Cheese SPK.
Also, anyone try ordering a buttered roll at a deli outside of this area? We are culinarily unique.
Buttered roll?? Who doesn't serve buttered rolls???

The first time I ever had was at the Worlds Fair in 1964 (I was 12). They had a booth where they were selling sandwiches on hamburger rolls. Everyone loved it.
My family has been in Jersey since the turn of the century and no one had known about it. We lived most of that time in Union County so maybe it was more of a South Jersey thing then

I moved here about a month ago and I've gotta say...It's great down here! I'm living in Columbia, the more populated blue area and even here everyone loves their guns. A bunch of ranges, PSA and FN are right around the corner. Nikki Haley is very pro gun. I don't see this state changing anytime soon.
Two things I don't like. ....8 hour ccw course and there aren't any 3 gun events.
Aside from guns, Everyone here is nice, climate is pretty warm and real estate is cheap. I'm never going back to NJ
My father in law lived in SC for a while. Went down to visit and it wasn't my cup of tea really. I think we were in a real redneck area. Everybody lived in double wides and very standoffish towards Yankees
Where could I go where there wouldn't be that kind of culture shock?

Had a call from an old friend last night who retired to So Carolina some years ago. We got to talking about guns and he was telling me about his latest AR15 acquisition - with a 30 round
magazine. He has some acreage so it's no big deal to go out back to his own outdoor range.
Here's the thing that really got me. We were talking about conceal/carry and of course everyone down there carries - everyone! He even said that the county sheriff does a tv commercial where
he encourages people to come on down and get your conceal/carry permit.
How different we are. In SC they look at responsible gun owners who carry as a way to create a safer environment for everyone.
In NJ anyone who even owns a gun is a potential psychopathic mass murderer. Very sad

The only problem with that is that if caught, there are extremely severe penalties.
And all it takes is one traffic stop gone wrong, or worse yet, a DGU.
OK what are the penalties for an otherwise upstanding citizen who gets caught with a loaded pistol in his vehicle. Serious question

Is there a rule governing PP extensions? Had a PP that expired in April so I took it down to local PD and asked for renewal thinking they would give me another 90 days.
They said they'd call me when it was ready to pick up but it was only going to be for 60 days. Is it up to individual jurisdictions how long they give you?

Howdy from Washington Boro!
+1 on Jim Flynn. He gets my gun business and that's where I buy clays now too. You'll have to join us at the next clay shoot in Clinton...I'll even stop & pick you up on my way through if ya want.
This signature is AWESOME!!!
What he lacks in ambiance he makes up for in low low prices! I keep saying I'm gonna go to some other shops and I keep going back to Jim cause it just doesn't get any cheaper.
Don't drive too fast or you'll miss it.
BTW Jim takes checks too!

Welcome, also from Bridgewater

As someone who's relatively new to the sport I'm really surprised by the small # of public shooting ranges, particularly in the area where I live (Somerset/Middlesex/Union)
Most ranges appear to be private clubs, some with closed memberships.
What exactly are the political roadblocks to starting a new public range? Is this a case of NIMBY? Are most towns simply against the establishment of shooting venues in their towns or are the prohibitions
really economic, i.e it's too tough to make a decent return on that type of business. I can see where paying rent on a large facility (particularly in Central NJ) might make the venture cost prohibitive and the only way to make it profitable is to own the real estate outright.
I don't want to name any ranges here but the few I've been to always seem busy. Why aren't there more?

Not too much surprising here. Gun ownership has generally declined if polling is accurate.
How many gun owners now say "No" when asked by a pollster if they own a gun? Some people may just want to stay under the radar
as much as possible when it comes to their gun ownership.
I actually think gun ownership has gone up in the last few years and I think NICS data would bear that out.
In certain circles, however, especially here in NJ, people are incredulous when you say you own guns. Especially "guns" - plural / multiple.
That kind of information just does not compute for them

Looking for a magazine loader for a Beretta 92FS I just picked up.
I saw the Butler Creek Lula Loader on Amazon which they claim is a universal loader. It got over 3,800 5 star reviews and another
400 4 star
Any one use this or any other loader?

This is not Union County but it's close:
Dirosa and Kuchinsky in North Plainfield

I watched 5 min and my head hurt

Here's another interesting NICS report by state that breaks it down by type.
365,000 handgun checks since inception for NJ
-
One more thing. NJ has it's own FOIA and you should probably start there
This site is good and has a link to NJ open gov't website
-
This will give you an idea but it's kind of a back door way of looking at your question.
In January 2014 NICS did almost 8,000 background firearm checks in NJ.
In 2013 for the entire year they 120,000

I don't consider myself a nut. I am an American citizen, and a resident of NJ.
These politicians are supposed to be our voice in governance.
I didn't say you, or any other gun owner was a nut. I said that Sweeney thinks we're nuts.
-
Why are they doing this? So they can say they kept an open mind and talked to both sides on the issue. I'm all for grass roots activism but will Sweeney really change his mind
because a lot of gun afficianados ("nuts", to Sweeney) called his office?

Where is Dicks in Springfield? on 22?
I know there's one in North Plainfield on 22 in that Watchung Sq. mall

Midway has 22LR (Eley Tenex Biathlon), no limits. Had to e-mail my FID but they put info in system like 5 min after I sent it.
Kentucky Gun Co also has some Eley 22LR

Probably the biggest dealer in Somerset is Albers. They just moved from Rt 22 E. in Bridgewater to Rt 22 E. in Green Brook. They generally have a large selection.
