Yesterday was a great day, first off it was my 7th year wedding anniversary and no I didn't forget. I sent a surprise edible arrangement package to the wife's workplace and she was extremely happy. Second, since she was working till late and I had the whole afternoon to myself, so I decided to go to the range. EFGA is about an hour drive for me but it's worth it. This was my third time going to my club and the first time going on a weekday and I was very surprised that only 2 other people were on the rifle range firing line. Third, after getting setup, the RO called "range is cold" then while setting up our targets, I got to talk to a member on this forum that lives the next town over from me, about his saiga 7.62. Long story short he bought his saiga from A&A and was extremely happy. Then he offered me to shoot it, right before they packed up. This Saiga was pretty damn accurate at 100 yards using the stock iron sights. Last but not the least, after they left there was one guy shooting a Springfield military surplus m1a03 that he purchased in the 90's for around $400. As I was minding my own business shooting, he suddenly yells out "would you like to try it? I saved 5 rounds for you" so I happily replied with a big smile, "HELL YEAH" So, I finally got to shoot a legendary gun that might have been used in WW2 and I finally got to shoot and feel what this SAIGA phenomenon is all about. The people at EFGA have been so nice to me and I will most likely be a long time member at this range. And I still haven't shot a firearm I didn't like.
