27 minutes ago, DirtyDigz said:Another committee meeting livestream (audio only) happening NOW:
I listened to the hearing. The head of the retired police association basically said the following " I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE AND SUPPORT EVERYTHING IN THE BILL AS LONG AS I AND OTHER RETIRED POLICE CAN CARRY". For all of you devotees of law enforcement on this forum, I WANT YOU TO SIT QUIETLY FOR A FEW MINUTES AND LET THAT SINK IN....

Not a ban just another form of harassment and financial burden. This whole process has been a financial drain, guns, ammo, training, holsters (many), magazines, fees, etc. There trying to put us all in the streets.

and here i thought my awesome kydex from tulster was gonna be good to go........
yep...I bought a sidecar 2.0 from trex arms.......

It will be enforced randomly like all the gun laws that are currently in place. I don't like it either, I have to buy yet another holster.....

10 minutes ago, RichP said:I was being somewhat facetious with that remark. Not a fan of all leather holsters as it is; they tend to be "sticky" for me. Open carry, maybe. I definitely don't think that a L2 should be required in a concealed IWB holster.
I agree, I think it's ridiculous too, but its going to happen. I recall a couple of months ago when I was taking pistol classes at TTC, the instructor (former special forces/LEO) mentioned to the class that NJ will likely require lvl 2 holsters for conceal carry, I think his words were prophetic. Now, if you don't like leather there are tons of kydex OWB lvl 2 holsters out there, like blackhawk, orpaz, holsters from viper tactical tons of them out there.

Law Enforcement! Your taking a walk on a sunny day and a cop sees a bulge or print, they have reasonable suspicion to question you and even request to view your carry permit. Once they verify your permit they can question you to verify "holster compliance". It can and will likely happen to us at some point if we carry on a daily basis. Bottom line, get a level 2 holster, doesn't matter if its thumb break or thumb activated.

6 minutes ago, RichP said:Lots of good Level 2 IWB holsters out there to choose from.
Yep, I just ordered a Don hume with a thumb break, I have experience with the thumb break holsters and find them rather comfortable. They also tend to hug the body better and print less than some of the kydex options out there.

1 hour ago, FXDX said:All of it will be contested, but some parts of it will likely pass. For example:
1. Level 2 retention holster or thumb break
2. increased training and/or references
3. Fees many increase, but probably under what they are asking.
4. Some sensitive locations will remain, some will be shot down like private property and churches/synagogues/mosques etc.

Although completely dumbfounded, it didn’t take long for the common sense crowd in Trenton to put pen to paper and draft all-encompassing restrictions, which made it through a review today. October 27th we may find out just how far and how ugly Trenton intends to take this.
I agree, in many counties just a trickle and in some counties like a Passaic they have been issuing at a good pace. I also agree that this bill is going to pass and things are going to get very ugly, there will likely be months or years of additional litigation to have "normal" conceal carry. I'm glad though that after so many years were finally on the right path, albeit a narrow one!

Honestly, haven't we bombarded them polite emails in the past with no reasonable outcome? I feel like were wasting our time, they will pass this bill, and we will have to litigate afterwards...

2 minutes ago, samiam said:Speaking of overt "printing", in their haste to make carry meaningless in NJ, these a$$clowns appear to have neglected to prohibit open carry, which is permitted under current regulations. Or did I miss something?
The fact is the law will likely pass as it is currently written which means "thumb break" or level 2 holsters which also means they are forcing us to "print" somewhat. We can negate this in the winter months with a jacket but, all other seasons we are going to print...

I'm still trying to figure out that one. The bill states " For purposes of this section, "holster" means a device or sheath that secures a handgun which, at a minimum, is equipped with a retention strap, conceals and protects the main body of the firearm, maintains the firearm in a consistent and accessible position, and renders the trigger covered and inaccessible while the handgun is fully seated in the holster. "
I read that as Level 2 retention or level 3 retention and at a minimum a thumb break strap? The thumb break strap appears to be the minimum but, I'm not sure.

30 minutes ago, 10X said:The actual wording in the bill will matter…but right now I’d argue that my holster has a retention strap. It’s made by Safariland, and it retains my holster on my strong side.
Won't that print like a bowling ball?

Holsters with straps.......ridiculous.

Until June of this year there was ZERO carry in NJ. The 2A groups have been instrumental in making Bruen a reality, so to suggest that they're sitting around doing nothing is kind of disingenuous IMO. They can't individually chase every one of the THOUSANDS of applications that goes over a 90 day threshold. Strikeforce was setup so they could understand where to focus efforts, but it will be a long process.
Those thousands of applications are flowing in to jurisdictions who previously have processed none, so it will take time to get to a steady state. Some seem to be moving better than others (and some not at all), but the process has started.
I submitted my paperwork in mid July, so I'll hit 90 days soon, but going in I had prepared myself for months.
I wanted to be an early submitter (like you) to make sure that townships and courts HAD to start the process rolling. You're helping to pave the road...
thanks, I wanted to be the "tip of the spear". You have a point, I guess I can wait a few more days/weeks etc.

We knew this was coming after what happened with Hochul in NY. Now, we have to see how things play out with the NY litigation.

Or we can sit and do nothing...... I don't think there is a right or wrong in this situation, our apps can languish at the court level for months maybe even years who knows!

If anyone here in Middlesex County who is either at 90 days or past 90 days including at the court level, have had their money orders cashed, and is interested in taking legal action against the Middlesex County please PM me. Maybe we could brainstorm and come up with something together. If Strikeforce won't lift a finger to help we will have to do it ourselves..

Submitted ALL paperwork 7/26, told Town forwarded 9/1 to county judge. it's 10/11/22 not a word!
strikeforce isn't doing anything about it... I have emailed and called a few times. I am sure some people in my county are past 44 days at the court level. I'm already at 36 days in the court and PD had my application for 60 days, 96 days total strikeforce hasn't uttered a word to me so far....

Anyone get their PTC in Middlesex County?
Next week it will be 44 days in the court for me..

Yes, I was told they are issuing daily. I haven't gotten anything yet.

23 hours ago, LineItem said:Spoke with Hudson county clerk today, finally. She said (when I said my name) she knew who I was and was in the list, but that they're "Waiting for the prosecutor to give approvals, and they have 15k people now in the queue. The prosecutor is only sending them for signature by the judge in batches of 200 every few weeks."
She also said I wasn't in the recent batch. I turned all of my paperwork in on 7/5. I mentioned that I'm solidly over 90 days waiting and she responded that it wasn't their problem; it could be months more and I would "just have to wait".
I was also told to "sit and wait" Middlesex has thousands of applications too. At least someone from Strikeforce has contacted you, they don't seem to pay me any mind, are you a member of Strikeforce?

8 minutes ago, g17owner said:What sucks is that those of us, like me, that week after week say to themselves "yet another week has passed... and nothing", Monday is a state and federal holiday. So, another day lost as we wait for "permission to exercise our rights".
That's the problem. The person I spoke to at the court would not give me a timeframe, I'm past 90 days and like you I keep telling myself "Maybe next week", "maybe tomorrow", but the fact is we really don't know when or how this will play out. At some point, an individual like myself or some organization will have to fire off a lawsuit. I think it could be getting to that point....
