  1. Only thing we noticed is that both the front and rear sights were not centered. The rears were offset to the right and the fronts were offset to the left. I've read that it's been a common issue. We contacted the FFL where we bought it and he is going to have his Gunsmith take care of it free of charge.
  2. We picked her up a subcompact 9mm to go along with her Glock 19. She loves it and can't wait to shoot it. I can't wait either.
  3. I've seen mixed reviews. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet though. Dickinson-Ermox XXPA 12ga.Semi-Auto/Pump Hybrid
  4. My local PD said they were already done with their portion like 2 weeks ago and that it was back in the NJSP's hands and I need to look for an email from them with a link to my e-permit. My co-worker has been waiting almost 5 months for his ID card and initial P2P.
  5. I was wrong. The storage fees are for unclaimed transfers.
  6. Yes I purchased the firearm from the FFL himself, but I was wrong in my above statement. The $5 a day is for transfers that are not picked up. There's no storage fee if you buy it from them. In hindsight, I should have applied for multiple permits in the beginning but we thought 1 handgun each would be enough.
  7. So our initial Firearm ID Cards and handgun permits took 3 months. It was a 1 month wait for the fingerprint appointment, then 2 months until the local PD said the permits were ready for pickup. Wife and I filed for our 2nd handgun permits 1 month ago. Got an email from the local PD like 3 days after filing asking for payment and the checks cashed about a week later. So it's been almost 3 weeks since payment was made. You would think a 2nd permit wouldn't take nearly as long as the initial, especially since they've gone to an e-permit system. I don't think there's any way to find out from NJSP on when the permit will be issued is there? I'm worried because I bought another pistol and the FFL is holding it until the permit comes through. But after 30 days, he charges $5/day for storage. Edit: Confirmed with the FFL that the storage fees are only for transfers.
  8. Thank you very much. Hopefully it will be much less stressful than trying to find 9mm in stock locally.
  9. Trying to figure out if I can buy 9mm ammo online and ship it to my house or work, or if I need to ship it to a FFL. If I need to ship to FFL, do they charge a fee like they do if you have a firearm transferred there? Sorry, most of the stuff I find online is from years ago.
  10. Well I went ahead and purchased the Beretta APX a couple of weeks ago. Just waiting on my 2nd permit to come through from the NJSP. Wife decided to hold off on another for now. She is in love with her Glock and doesn't want anything else at the moment. To be honest, i've never been drawn to revolvers. I may get one eventually just for fun at the range though. Or maybe a Kimber 1911?
  11. I've been shooting a Springfield XDE 4.5" 9mm and my wife has a Glock 19 Gen 3 9mm for about a month now. We both love our respective guns, but we are already looking forward at what's next. She's got her eye on a Sig P320 XCompact and I'm torn between a Springfield XDM Elite 3.8 or a Beretta APX Centurion. My local shop had a full size APX that I went to look at that was really nice, but it was just as big as my XDE. I am looking for something a little smaller than what I have and so is my wife. Haven't had much luck finding anything locally. Gonna have to see if I can get them online I guess. Bass Pro has a really good price on the Beretta right now at $359 but they are always out of stock.
  12. Yea, I called the place I bought my pistols from and he said he charges $35 for the xfer and $16 for NICS. He'll also pin the mags to make them NJ compliant for $20/per.
  13. Yea, it wasn't that bad. I had 2 co-workers apply a week after I did, one from Jackson and one from East Brunswick. The guy from Jackson got his in about 3 months, and the other guy from East Brunswick is still waiting (a little over 4 months so far) for his.
  14. Yea, we have been buying up 9mm 1-2 boxes at a time when we can find it. I got about 200 rounds left at home for the range and 2 boxes of HP's for the house.
  15. So wife and I purchased our first 2 pistols from a local retailer out of his stock. We now want to get a 2nd pistol each, but the ones we are looking for, we can never seem to find anyone local selling them. A couple of the shops I've gone to say they can't order guns from the manufacturers and I just have to keep checking back daily to see what random stuff they get in that day. This could take months (or years) to find the specific ones we are looking for. Can I just go online to like gunbroker or something and buy it there and have it transferred to one of my local shops? Do I need to contact the shop first and ask them if I can have it transferred there first, or just do it? I'm not entirely sure how online gun sales works so any advice is greatly appreciated.
  16. Name's Jason and i'm in Monmouth County. Wife and I applied for our FA Cards/Handgun Permits back in June and finally got them at the end of September. We were looking to get a couple of 9mm handguns for home defense. We ended up picking up a Springfield XDE 4.5" for me and a Glock 19 Gen 3 for her. We've been to a couple of ranges so far and probably put about 400 rounds through each pistol. We're pretty much hooked at this point. I'm looking forward to spending time here and soaking up the collective knowledge of the members. Thanks in advance for reading!
