  1. I just received the email with my 2 latest P2Ps applied for Aug. 20. Once I  saw it was well over 60 days I began asking questions.  It was approved Oct 13th, but no email was received, and I needed to contact local PD who tried but eventually gave me a tech number of the state. That rep was excellent and cleared the issue after 2-3 different tries. Anyone waiting an excessive length of time might consider doing the same. Tech # I used was 609-586-2600.

  2. On Facebook today,  new permits issued in Ocean County WITHOUT restrictions by Judge Marlene Lynch Ford, and another post cited Judge Guy Ryan for a letter rescinding previous letter with restrictions from judge Gizinski.

  3. It depends on your county. Some judges do not limit you to the one gun you qualify with or list firearms on your permit. Ocean county so far has had those limits and restrictions, but the judge handling applications has been changed, and I have not heard of the new judge's disposition on the matter.

  4. I have three I qualified with, Shield Plus 9, Bersa Thunder .380 and Ruger LCPII .380. I would have preferred my XDS9 over the Bersa but it had not arrived prior to my qualifying. Ocean County restricts me to the three for now, hopefully the "Letter" will be overturned soon. If it is my XDS and recently purchased XD 9 Subcompact will be added. The Shield Plus is my EDC unless some problem arises.

  5. Just saw on Facebook, Ocean County has a new judge for permit approvals, Judge Gizinski will apparently handle the denials form the report. Trying to clarify the meaning of all this for ones like me with her restrictions. If anyone hears please post.

  6. I saw where the Strike force was able to have the Monmouth County Prosecutor step back from requiring applicants to agree to restrictions. Has anyone heard of their efforts in the cases of Ocean County judge's letter of restrictions?

  7. 19 minutes ago, Jon K said:

Where is the NRA and others with the litigation? Missing in action once again I suppose, on day 5 myself...

The NRA has not led the fight on ANY NJ issue, but continues to cite their "support" for the actions taken by others and mail fund raising letters. When my membership expires it will not be renewed.

  8. The renewal process in two years will probably be a lot different for better or worse, no way it remains as-is. The biggest factor that I see will be the number and severity of events involving the initial batch of PTCs. Sorting out the problems encountered now with local PDs reluctance to process applications and the mixed, uneven judges' orders will be a big enough challenge.

  9. I've owned guns for over 50 yrs. and trained with handguns on and off for the better part of 40.  What I've learned is there is always someone better than me who I learn from and most importantly that I don't ever want to use what I learned. Two police officers I used to shoot better than both saved lives in real situations because they were able to use the training they did effectively.
