  1. Exactly. These people love to hear themselves talk and be "right"
  2. If you were denied a PTC, you're now entitled to a hearing and due process.
  3. Nearby Pennsylvania allows carry in schools if you are licensed, as do Connecticut and Delaware.
  4. Yes I don’t know if people realize this, but Bruen is exactly 6 months old today. In that 6 months many of us were able to legally carry in NJ for the first time. The mag ban, AWB and other cases were also GVRd - it got sent back down with a new set of instructions, based on Bruen. Bruen was pretty damned comprehensive. It addressed pretty much all of the dirty tricks that states like NY, NJ and CA would pull. Notice how Murphy, Danielson and the rest have to basically repeat over and over that their law is compatible with Bruen, as if they’re trying to convince someone. But you can tell they are forcing it, because even they know it’s unconstitutional. And now, not even when the ink is dry we get two very viable lawsuits. We also get a judge appointed by Biden to hear the TRO in a little over a week. That’s light speed for any court. Things are starting to turn, but it takes time. Being a defeatist is unhelpful. If you can’t help, donate or be a plaintiff, maybe just step aside and let those who can, get things done.
  5. Apparently the insurance is already covered by some homeowners and umbrella policies. There never really was a ban on carry insurance just like there never was a ban on carry. There was strong discouragement and gatekeeping, so it was a de facto ban. Besides, the ban on “murder Insurance” is not a ban on liability insurance. It’s a ban on self defense insurance meaning covering your legal bills so the state can more easily fuck you over after a DGU.
  6. 3D chess. Primary out one or two and they realize that their decisions have consequences. Especially if it comes as a surprise. Get a weak D and it opens the door for a strong R. You have to fight dirty. You aren’t going to necessarily get a dem who can win. You get a dem who will give you the result that you want. Give up and you’ve already lost. Move and watch the cancer spread. Bloomberg and friends want no guns anywhere except in his own security detail. You think you’re escaping it but it will just follow.
  7. Actually, yes! I’ve been carrying daily in NJ for a few months now. And don’t think that this stupid law is going to stand for a hot minute. This setback is only temporary and everyone knows it. Even you.
  8. Yes and Thomas and the Bruen decision was the direct result of VOTING. Tell me if Hillary was President when ginsburg croaked and Kennedy stepped down we would still be in the same situation. We got Trump, we got some good Supreme Court justices and we got the bruen decision. That’s how it works.
  9. This is more than just voting. It's political activism to recruit candidates to push out incumbents. Things like changing voter registration for primaries and primarying out vulnerable dems, PACs, and such.
  10. So what’s the solution then? Sit around and sob? Move? You gotta try something.
  11. The “sensitive places” part and most of the rest of it (2,3,7,10) pretty much immediately. Insurance I believe is in 7 months.
  12. NY is in the 2nd. The circuits do not cover parts of states. They cover groups of entire states. NY does have four district courts - Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western. Those along with CT and VT make up the 2nd circuit.
  13. I think the injunction will happen soon at the district court. Likely within weeks.
  14. Agreed. He's always called himself a "capitalist marksman." Does he profit from this? Heck yeah. Is there anything wrong with that? Absolutely not. The qualifications aren't even that expensive. After the first qual I paid $25 per qual as a member. That's pretty much on par with the walk in rate for an hour of range time. And even if NJ said carry any gun, for liability reasons I want the qual on paper. I even took the holster draw class and I actually learned stuff. I am also a life member with range at ANJRPC. I take classes from Ken sometimes and I'm also an NRA instructor. He's also making money from this. I don't begrudge him - making money is not a crime and it's a free market. You can go anywhere you please. ANJRPC/Schmutter is also looking for plaintiffs.
  15. Scuttlebutt is that sMurph will sign it after Christmas and it will take effect Jan 1. Of course he'll have a big presser with moms demand and they will crow how they "fought the NRA."
  16. Yes. Why do you think otherwise? Sweeney became increasingly anti gun toward the bitter end. Even moreso when the recall took place (and failed) and when protesters showed up at his house.
  17. Probably won't. We had Drake in those intervening years which was denied by the Supreme court. Then we got Trump and got enough judges to fix the problem.
  18. I go to Marlboro area every year and Boston on occasion. I have a connecticut pistol permit because I do volunteer work in CT. However sometimes we may cross the river and go to a restaurant in MA. That leaves me in a bind - leave my gun in my hotel in CT, because it would be a felony in MA. Anyone have a mass CCW? Any training nearby? I see that some CT instructors also have MA classes.
