  1. Glad you're getting into guns. My wife loves to shoot. She has two 9mm's... One full size, and one compact. Honestly, the best thing to do is to go up to a gun range. Most of them will rent out guns, and you can tell them you're new and you'd like to try something like a .22 out. They have very little kick, and are a blast to shoot for newbs. It will help you get use to trigger control, as well as controlling recoil. Most ranges won't have a problem showing you either.
  2. Eh.. Some guns are pickier than others about the ammo they shoot. Try several types out in your guns, and see what it does the best with, then stick with that round for target... Do the same thing for a home defense round. For example, my wife's taurus 9mm won't shoot the cheap no name shit. It will blast through WWB, UMC, and blazer brass with no problems, but put a super cheap ammo through it, and it will hiccup on it. Now my XD45, I can shoot freakin rocks with primers on it probably and it wouldn't care. It will shoot damn near anything that goes bang.
  3. Own four myself. Well, two are my wife's and 2 are mine. Taurus 24/7 Pro 9mm - wife's Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm compact - wife's Springfield XD45acp - mine (of course ) Smith & Wesson 1911 silver w/ custom S&W crimson trace laser grips - mine (of course )
