  1. It is a semi-automatic version of a fully automatic firearm - they even allude to it in their description. It also fires from an open bolt - a feature found on its F/A parent.

No, No it does not.......BATFE ruled that ANYTHING that fires from an open Bolt is considered an MG, Semi or not,  except for a couple of Specific EARLY Model MAC semis, and a very short tun of Tec-9's that fired OB/Semi, which, like the G-Series FAL's each is registered by Serial number as Exempted.

  2. I do believe it excludes active and retired LEO's, which would include their personal firearms.

It's the politicians little sweetener to keep the cops on their side.

You believe wrong.  it only exempts In the case of Active Officers, firearms used for duty purposes, with the appropriate "Chief's Letter" same as now.  Handguns form Both Active and retired are only exempt if you are Qualified to carry it.

  3. For fear of derailing the thread I'll just..

It isnt worth it..believe me Nick

Paula Dow had EVERY INTENTION of expanding on what she did with Auto Ordnance, and a few months later I.O. Inc. AK clones  she was working on getting ALL previously Legal AK's banned, and after that AR's.  The Auto Ordnance Markings were different than  the Factory Carbine Markings.  Just as Arsenal or Saiga markings are different than "Avtomat Kalashnikov AK-47", and just as say "Spike's Tactical SL-15" is different than "Colt Ar-15"  By doing what she did with Auto Ord, she was trying to push open the door for a REAL AWB to go into place.

  4. And in NJ the evil features are not actually in the law, they are made up by the AG, quite analogous with the ATF making up features of a silencer.

The Administrative code IS Law, it's just separate from the Criminal Statute

Anyway, the Assault Weapon Misnomer aside, this whole case rests on the Judge calling out BATFE for their less than Exemplary method of testing...as in.Not actually DOING Any before declaring this particular Muzzle Device a "Muffler" even though they showed NO Actual data of Sound Supression.

  5. I believe even original WW2 carbines do not have m1 carbine stamped anywhere on them. They are marked 30ML or something like that. I believe there are a few postwar models that are stamped M1 carbine. It is really annoying that there is no real clarification from the AG. The m1 carbine situation is like calling every Ar style rifle an Ar15 even though they are not marked that way.

Originals are stamped "US Carbine" Caliber .30 M1" the Auto Ordnance Carbines were stamped "ML" and declared to be "Substantially Identical" by fiat of the former AG

  6. I trolled him bad and he kept coming back. We needed a police report to block the number. We started that process but I'm sure he'll just use another #. Local smokey said he's gonna call them from the PD head shed and see what he can do.

Airhorn, or whistle.... speak very softly..try and get him to turn the volume up on his end...then...Blow his Effin doors off

  7. Slightly astonished that Huff-Po would allow this on their notoriously left leaning site.

Read the first few Comments, before the 2A supporters started chiming in... HuffPo does this to allow the regular Leftists free reign to hammer anyone who chooses to go of the Path.

  8. Oh and holy crap on that KSG price.  They are readily available for 1k, and less if you hunt for them.  That's crazy.

It's very possible that the LGS bought that when they were INCREDIBLY hard to come by...and is now stuck with it.  PK had the same problm with one of those "Mare's Leg" Pistols/Lever actions.. He bought one for Stock when there was only one company making them...and they were expensive as hell...about 6 months later Rossi IIRC started making them for about 1/3 of the price...Paul STILL had that one in the case when he left for Az.  What was he going to do//   That said, with the exception of one, I dont think any of the FFL's ive used over the years has EVER Charged me MSRP for any firearm...but YOU as the customer also has to put in the effort of being a customer.

  9. IIRC we had 2 MP-5's, 1 Bushmaster 10" SMG with an AAC Supressor. 2 Benelli M-1 Entry Shotguns, a Dozen and a half Mossberg 590's, 3 Remington Model 70 DMR's  and 15 1033 Program M-16A1's   10 of the A-1's had the uppers and stocks changed to bring them into M-4 specs, the others remained as A-1's  the original plan was supposed to Swap out the FCGs to AR parts and make them Semi-only and out them out as Patrol Rifles (Yeah i know, Pool rifles are bullshit...but compared to NOTHING...) But that didnt happen as of my retirement and i dont see it ever happening frankly.  Now, in the 50's, 60's and 70's, we had 4 BAR's 18@ Thompson and Reising SMG's, and a Dozen full 37mm Setups Mixed S&W and Federal Labs.  All of that stuff got traded in in the late 60's and 70's for other, more "Appropriate' assorted firearms over the years, including 870's, Ruger Security-sixes, and eventually S&W 681's, until we went Glock in 1992

  10. So it was government bureaucracy that ultimately is the final contributing factor. Mental instability of the shooter, poor background checks, and bureaucratic apathy. Any mention of the weapon being the cause? What troubles me most is the intentional building of a basis for suspicion of former military personnel, Watch closely as it grows, eventually it will be described as an epidemic. Their acting skills, body language, and visual, and auditory punctuations are a dead giveaway. They really need to work on that.

Where have you been??? they've been beating this drum Before the Navy Yard Incident.

  11. technically there is no official ruling on things like that.. but the state has stated that unless the mag is PERMANENTLY altered than it is still to be considered a large cap mag.. thus these are illegal IMO

IIRC they DID specifically say that  Rivets were considered "Permanent" At one point...That's how Henderson Defense did their mags, block in he bottom, secured with a pop rivet through the floorplate......which is why i switched to Midwest PX mags, since you can get the floorplates off of those to clean them.

  12. I should have included that we are not in the same state.

Local trades are easy, just meet at an ffl location/store and get the deal done.

What do you do if the other person is 300 miles away?

Sending my gun to his FFL sounds ok but his FFL is not going to make sure that I get the gun in NJ.

In that case FTF isnt an option ANYWAY...you are required by Federal law to go through an FFL, or you are committing a Felony.
