From what I understnad it's an insurance issue, more than a Local Legality issue. IIRC as long as the arms remain on board the ship, even in port they are no business of the place the ship it tied up to. As always it comes down to money, it's cheaper for the shipping companies to keep the strict "No Firearms" policy and pay out to Pirates a couple of times a decade (in the past) then take the cahnce that they might get sued or get a judgement agains them for a lot more if someone screws up. Sort of like the Convenience Store chains policy that employees cannot be armed, or Bank Policies of not calling Police or allowing alarms to be tripped until several minutes AFTER a robber leaves. Corporate/Attorney idiocy at it's finest.

Is the guy mentioned int he previous posts. IIRC he's currently out of mags, and when he DOES get a batch made up he runs out fast so check his site often. he's also got some pretty good deals and prices, as well as being a nice guy.

Everything changed about 2-3 years ago. Before that the $18.00 fee was a one time thing, part of the initial check when you got your FID. Now, our wonderful "Corporate Governor" has made it so that EVERY transaction requires that $18.00 fee. Handgun permits, Change of address, Replace Lost/Stolen FID cards. Everything comes with that requirement for the $18.00 to NJSP. And dont think NJSP is happy about it, especially now with all of the Obama Panic/1 Handgun Per Month scare. Their unit is so backed up it's not funny, which is WHY times, even in the gun-friendly municipalities have extended from around 2-4 weeks to 6-8 minimum.

He CANT ship to anyine in NJ, because believe it or not, he IS in NJ. Remember all handgun ammo, has to be logged into the dealer's bound Book here in the PRNJ, plus, IIRC, All other ammo has to have a photo ID or NJFID card presented at time of purchase. Im sure the State would like nothing better than to shut down anyone who doesnt cross every T and dot every I for any discrepancies. Out-of state dealers arent affected by this as yet, although the Legilsature is desperately trying to "Remedy' that.

The Wife is used to them being around the house, she understands that on one hand, me being a LEO, the handguns are required, as for the rest, she just kind of rolls her eyes. i AM well on the way to corrupting the Daughter unit though..She's going to get her pink "Cricket" rifle in another couple of months, and will be shooting Cowboy with me down in CJRPC by the time she's 9.
