  1. Riddle me this. If there were 3 Colt Pythons for sale and all other things equal, color, finish, barrel bore etc. Would barrel length determine a price difference? In other words did they make more 2" barrels rather than 4's? Are 6's more desirable than other lengths? Enough for a big price difference? I have a shot at buying one (no pun intended) but it's a 4" and I don't want to be stuck with a dog that I won't be able to sell later on if I get tired of it.

  2. I also had the Thompson in my hands 2 weeks ago at Meltzer's in Garfield. The only thing you might have missed is the Jersey legal version has that 100 mag pinned to be 10 rounds. (what a shame huh). The only thing that should be illegal is that you need 10 men and boy to carry the SOB. But the salesman told me he carried one in Viet Nam and it was VERY accurate and reliable. If it's for sale in NJ its legal in New Jersey. BTW Bud's is a great price. Much higher here.

  3. I am impressed with the scope and well thought out, impassioned responses by the members of this forum. Over the years I have seen a huge swing in the mind set of the of gun sellers (except for perhaps Ramsey Outdoors who still furrow a brow when you ask to see a hand gun) they actually want to sell you a gun! Police were reluctant to give you permits to buy a weapon. Which only makes sense, why would they want to give you something that could possibly hurt them? Now, they accept it and are usually pretty good about it. Jersey City, Newark, Trenton, Camden may be some exceptions for the reasons stated above. So things ARE getting better towards gun owner mindset.

After listening to MSNBC, CNN, etc., there was no mention that these men were not close to the president.

My only real concern was not the pros and cons of 2nd amendment rights, but simple premise. Is it a good idea to (in my opinion) to carry a gun while being surrounded by FBI and Secret Service people who may mistake a simple gesture of perhaps unconsciously resting his hand on the gun butt to be construed as a hostile gesture and be killed for an innocent action. Or worse yet, having a tragedy occur because someone with a sinister agenda decided to draw down on our president to gain his 15 minutes of fame, thereby setting back the progress that has taken place since the 1968 GCA. All the while Sarah Brady is smugly saying hey don

  4. I have friends on the police force who go to Paterson to Lawman Supply. They told me that they have to show their police id to get in. I just wanted to see what they had. I wouldnt expect their discount as im not a cop, so I never went there myself. That's a long drive for me to be turned away. As far as lucky gunner is concerned, I found them on a link someone sent me on another matter. I just posted the link as alot of people are having trouble finding ANY .380 ammo at any price. Up North, Meltzer's had some .380 for like $20 for 50 rounds of partizan. (spelling?) and Dick's has it for $18 for 50 of Remington FMJ but they sell out quickly.I dont shoot much .380 myself so its no biggie for me either way.

  5. While I can truly appreciate the abiltiy to open carry at a political event, I can't help to think if it is the wisest decision one could make. I mean really, the guy could be a nut, do something stupid and cause a huge black eye for shooters all over the County, or worse, instantly be made to look like swiss cheese should he make a gesture that might be construed by law enforecment as a threatening gesture. Comments anyone?

  6. Well ok then Special K, I will just get some bubble wrap and package the Python, Diamond Back, the 6 model 41's and the Hammerli right out to you. Say $10 ? Sound fair? Intested in the Colt Ace also? Oh wait, I have this here Singer .45 in the safe but it looks its age.

  7. Safety is not an issue. I'm still healthy, working, and "with it". I've thought of selling off the ones I don't shoot any more, but as a gun salesman recently told me, after awhile, they become like your children, each different, as much as they are alike, and it's hard to give them up while they still live at home. hah ha :D

  8. I've been doing alot of soul searching lately. I've been shooting off and on since the 70's. Now after a long long time, I found a renewed interest the sport.. Actually, since last September, when I shot an AK , that old feeling stirred again. So now 3 AR's later, and 4 new hand guns, I have to think what the hell am I doing? So it begs the question, at over 60 should I be selling my guns and not buying more? Or just screw it and keep shooting as long I can until as they say, they pry the gun from my cold, dead hand? As a side note, I have no kids to give them to, and my wife thinks the one gun a month law is the greatest thing since sliced bread. (did I just answer my own question?) Your opinions on the matter would make me feel better.

  9. Blazer always worked ok for me in my Colt .45 and my S&W 645. I shot hundreds of rounds without a problem. I started using it because i gave up trying to invent a brass magnet to pick up the empties. ;)

  10. It being that the OGAM law only covers hand guns, I think one would be hard pressed to find any police chief who is going to sign on 25 or 30 active pistol permits.

Please excuse me, I have to go outside and scream now.

  11. Last night on Channel 12 (local news cablevision) they interviewed Corzine who was bashing Christie for not backing the OGAM law. Corzine actually said the law keeps gun owners in New Jersey from going into a gun shop and buying 25 or 30 guns and loading up their trunk. Where does he get this information?? Is it really possible that he is that disconnected from reality? Or is that what happens when you are surrounded by State Troopers, Cease fire members and Sarah Brady? It boggles my mind.

  12. I tripped over your web site while looking for info on AR-15's.

I went round and round looking for information and found it difficult to leave the site as

there was alot of good information that pertained to the unique situations we have here in New Jermany. Rules that pertain to the real United States just don't apply here so it is hard to find

    facts about guns and laws.

I came night after night before I registered, after I had reason to think I had something of value to contribute.

Keep up the good work. If you come to this site, one has reason to believe he is not a criminal just because he wants to spend $800.00 for a machine at punches round holes in a piece of paper at 25 yards.

  13. Good luck with your project. I have posted a link by a company called Brownells which has a series of free videos on how to build your rifle. Most AR-15's are in .223/5.56. Right now parts may be hard to find ,but that is getting easier as the Obama administration is busy with other things rather than gun control. If you live in New Jersey be VERY CAREFUL on how you outfit your rifle. No flash suppressors or bayonet lugs for sure. Check the State Police web site for other "evil features" not permitted to be on your gun. As previously posted, you must get the pieces. The most important being the lower receiver, basically a piece of machined aluminum with the serial number on it. You can buy a completed lower unit, mechanics, trigger, hammer, springs, and butt stock for about $400. About $100 less if you want to put the parts in the lower yourself. The other part is the upper unit. Barrel, receiver, bolt carrier group, etc. Also can be bought in pieces or already built. Another $450 or so if built. Two pins keep the gun together. It is pretty simple. Finding the parts you want is not so simple. AR parts making is a cottage industry and quality varies quite a bit. Ask around, use the internet, use this forum to answer your questions. Completed guns are now showing up fairly regularly now, so if you decide building one is beyond your capabilities you should have an easier time buying a completed on for slightly more than buying the parts.

  14. That's an awful lot of people chasing you because you bought a matched set of .22's at an estate sale. I truly can not see the logic of this law. Even if I agreed with the logic, (which I don't) i fail to see how this is going to stop gun crimes. Did anybody ever look at the pile of junk the police show on those tables in the newscasts? I wouldn't own one any of that crap because i would be afraid it would blow up in my face. How about this for a law? Do any of the heinous crimes rape, robbery, murder, kidnapping etc. with a gun and they lock you up and throw away the key. What ever happened to the commit a crime with a gun and you do mandatory 5 years law? We would have to have our own Devil's Island or better yet, if they the gang bangers want to shoot so much ship 'em to Iraq and bring our loving children home. So now I have to go and be sure Im not smoking in the park, have my seat belt on, and shut off the cell phone, Thank God I can still have my runny eggs. What would i do without State government.Just my humble opinion.

  15. I don't believe Marco has a web site. He has done trigger jobs, hammers including extensions, barrel replacement, blueing, checkering, throating, timing, accurizing etc. all have been wonderful. IMHO he iks one of the best around. He has been working at his craft for a long time. He is not cheap, but I think you get what you pay for.
