  1. how long will cigars last without the humidor.  I brought back a few and dont really have anything to keep them in

They wont last long in the winter, home heating dries them out. Get a sealed plastic container and put a damp( not wet) paper towl in with it.

Or give them to me :) I age mine for three years !!

  2. The real McCoy Nick?  If so, I got a connection!  PM me for details.......

90 something % are fake. Ive had Dominicans that were better. I think the hype is more then reality. Remember there communists they destroy everything.LOL

  3. I dont know. I've screwed up there a bunch of times there since joining a few years ago. I was always corrected nicely. The last one was for leaning a target against the bench during a target change. Just a frustrated wave of the hand and a few words. Another time I was adjusting my grip and pointed the muzzle down. That got me a tap on the shoulder and a quite reprimand. Really after about 50 or so trips the worst thing I've seen was an I run the range lecture when we decided among ourselves to do a target change. A few minuets later we asked and received another from the same RO. But I'm pretty receptive to advice as I'm new to this stuff so I know I have to learn some things.

Sometimes I think many problems are created by members reactions to being corrected. I do hate waiting on target changes though. I hope one day they get electric changers. Waiting for the change time drives me nuts.

  4. I cant say enough about my Sig 226 classic (22LR). It costs around $500 eats every type 22lr ammo I've given it. And with just the change of the slide you can change calibers.

I changed mine to a 9mm and now use it as a 15rd home defense gun. Its very accurate and a snap to clean.

In a state as restrictive as ours guns that can convert to different calibers no permit needed are the way to go.

  5. I've been a member a couple of years now.No major issues. I screwed a few things up and was nicley corrected by some RO's.

But one RO there really irks me. He kind of is a my way or the highway type. But even him I have a compliment for as I watched him clear a nasty jam for some guy shooting reloads. So I guess everything has it's good and bad.

  6. I've been keeping fish for 30 years. I would go with Africans. I would also go with a wet/dry filter and a UV sterilizer. The filter can be made or bought cheap a UV for a 30 is pretty reasonable as well. Africans can take some abuse. Search CL for a set up. People are always getting out of the hobby as they Dont realize the work in keeping a beautiful tank.

Right now I'm keeping Fancy goldfish ranchu ,orandas and such. Anyone know where I can find some good stock?

  7. I'm not sure what is up with the NRA. They seem to like lobbying better then lawsuits. Which is OK as we are all on the same team. But if you want to support a group that sues and supports those who sue. Try the Second Amendment foundation. The NRA will step up with cash once an SAF suit gains traction.

But the sad part is they will try and act like they are the lead and started the suit.

All of them including GOA have a roll to play. Remeber GOA helped stop the background bill which had the endorsment (later retracted) of SAF.

Each plays a vital role but none are one size fits all.

  8. RIP Sgt. McGill. Thank you for your service to this country.

I say let them kill eachother and get our men back home.

+1 I agreed with going in and killing the bastards that murdered our people.I still do but we should not go beyond our bases trying to nation build.

Freedom has to be earned and they show no will or desire to pay the cost. Let them suffer the fate they choose.

  9. Well, I'm pretty sure the Mexican government would object. IF we were to do that, we should pretty much expect to end up conquering/annexing Mexico. I'm sure we COULD do that pretty easily, but then we would be stuck with all of Mexico's problems, and a population which we still don't want but couldn't really call illegal immigrants anymore. In the end, what does Mexico really have to offer us? Perhaps we could build a crap ton of nuclear reactors in one end of the Mexican desert, and store all of our nuclear waste on the other end?

I suppose it would be an acceptable trade off, being flooded with a bunch of Mexican refugees, in exchange for solving our NIMBY energy issues. It would be hard for the tree huggers to protest a nuke plant in the middle of nowhere.

We have invaded Mexico several times to protect our citizens and remind them to keep there house in order. We did not accept refugees then nor should we now.

  10. Yeah that I'll be taking your wife and daughter make sure they are showered thing would not go over to well. You can only pull that stuff where you know the other side is not packing.

There was an old interview with one of the last noted cowboys/trail driver. He said that gang of tough guys taking over a small town would have lasted at best to the first night before they met the old double barreled shotgun.

  11. My neighbors know. I got the full spectrum of results from it.  But the one consistent thing that struck me as funny was the fact that they tell there kids should anything bad happen to go to my house and get me.LOL Even the Anti gun people told there kids this.

I mean I'm honored they see me as a good guy . But even the anti's see deep down that it's a nessasary right. They just hate the fact that people they dont agree with get to have that right to.
