  1. Buy local... hmmm.. I never thought of that  I buy 98% of my ammo online, so I forget to even look for ammo locally

Same, I buy ammo online. Can't stand buying it in NJ and being treated like a sex offender at the time of purchase.

we are just following the laws that our elected officials have instated. as far as the hollowpoint thing.. a member of mine was arrested for having hollowpoints in his gun at his house. so i dont know how full of it he is. your best bet.. shoot 2-3-4 times then it doesnt matter if they are hollow points.

  2. talked bushmaster at the NSSF SHOT SHOW and they said dont expect one till after the summer. and if i know the guys at a bushmaster a lil bit that prob means next winter.

  3. If you can wait till Monday I will be in Monday.. Tomorrow may not be the best day to bring it down since it is one of our busier days and only Jeff and Dan will be working. If you have to bring it down tomorrow, tell them that you talked to me and have them log it into the G Book. When I come in Monday I will take care of it for you.

  4. would evan nappen be able to answer the question as to why Barnaget PD is not processing FID cards at this time?

if you look in the recent ANJRPC newsletter they have a section that they want to hear from anyone who is expierencing problems with the PD on obtaining permits also if they are rationing. sorry i can not recall the email address. im sure no one can answer why they arent doing it... probably because they are "too" busy. such a crock.

  5. Im going to find the sheet of paper and post it on here because its always a question on here. About two years ago a letter was sent out from the State of New Jersey's Attorney Generals office. In this form sent to all holding FFL's it stated that: magazine were to only be made at the manufacturer to the capacity desired. That previous 30 rnd mags could not be pinned by an owner to make it unremovable which used to be the way they allowed it. similar to a plug will hunting. But since this letter was only sent out to FFL's you get tons of misleading information regarding hi capacity mags and what not. I will post the form and you can run from there. Only issue is that now this form has been out the police can charge you for doing something you thought was totally legal.

  6. we dont compare ourselves to ray's because we are a totally different shop. first off we are small. but what we make up our size in is with our customer service and catering to get the right handgun in your hand. we do stock a ton of firearms and inventory changes everyday. another thing is we dont stock our shelves with anything, we only stock what we stand behind. so after you go out on the range you come back with a smile on your face not waving the gun at me yelling i sold you a POS! we also have range masters on stock all day everyday to insure a safe user environment. if you decide to come down we rent all our major big sellers and our range masters have the knowledge to help you with anyqustions. feel free to stop in we are also only 3.5% sales and we do gun transfers if you want to stick it to your local brick and mortar a little harder. check us out right off the parkway exit 89. contact info is below. and here is that link to our facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lakewood- ... 155?ref=ts

dont be afraid to ask questions down here! unlike rays we will answer them without making you feel like a retard for asking!

  7. there is nothing cheap about owning and operating a range. and with the internet and major sports shops with everyone trying to save a dollar soon there will be no more public ranges. i hope this is not true. but with current trend in business brick and mortars can justt not compete and with everyone trying to save a few bucks they are killing there favorite place that has over head and what not.

  8. ~~~~~~I split this from the main bullet hole thread, as it was quickly straying. - Maksim

Sorry for the delay in response. I wanted to take a look at the receipt for the gun. It looks like it was shipped per the instruction on the receipt. We were told to ship for under $65 and that was the way it went. I am sorry that it did not go the way it should. Items brought in on a Friday afternoon/evening will never ship on a Saturday because the charge will probably be well over $150. If you ever tried to ship anything on a Saturday, you would know that. The receipt was also signed by the shipper.

Also, I was also told that my mother was yelled at on the phone. That is just purely disrespectful. I would never think of yelling at a person like that. Maybe it was the way I was brought up, I don't know.

As with most things everyone has choices. If we are not your choice anymore, I am sorry.

not to stick up for anyone but if the BH has been as busy as we have been in the last year most customers just do not realize how much is going on at the shop. they only get to see what happens while they are there. if the gun was indeed brought in on a friday with a note saying not to ship over 65 dollars there is no way that it could have gone out on sat. as far as the company telling the buyer that they were told to ship as cheap as possible that is just not right. to the BH how we do it is charge a flat rate for shipping, take customers CC# and after we ship it charge them the amount to ship it. so far we have had no problems. thing is for the customers to get upset at us shipping out their guns for their sales and getting upset is just not right. right now we are all up to our neck in our own business. shipping out guns for other peoples gains (sales on gb, ga , ect.) and getting yelled at about it is just not right. i think there was a problem on both ends. but i feel for bother parties

  9. I've seen piles of them in most of the NJ gun shops I visit. The piles are mostly gone, so they have probably sold a lot of them.

My concern is that a book like this is nearly instantly out of date, before it hits the shelves. For example, One Gun a Month is not covered in Nappen's new book. I'd be worried about using the book as any kind of important reference source....

...on the other hand, I don't have a suggestion for a better source. It would be great if Nappen maintained a website with updates and errata.

noticed that. and still sometimes the information gets dicey. it always comes down to what officer pulls you over.

  10. only a good deal if you like a 12 lb trigger, DA only gun!

prob 10 but you beat me to it. i would def not recommend this gun. in the pic it shows it with a hammer and decocker so its prob not even the gun

  11. sometimes when triggers are lowered then 3 lb. they have alike chance of double taps even ar's but im not expert on the case. but but a marine in jail bc a multi burst come on

  12. Nice, I am getting the itch myself. I just saw the Para-Ordnance P18 9mm in Hitman and had me itching for a nice silver 1911.

The 1911's in 9mm are often picky about ammo. I could never get my Springfield Loaded in 9mm to feed correctly with 115 grain bullets. It worked great with 147 grain bullets though. I sold it to a guy in Texas (after full disclosure of the feeding issue) and he loves it.

  13. and not to hurt all the Colt die hards but there are so many other companies that 1911's are just such better tuned gun. obviously your standard 70 series or series 80 is going to be a stock gun but the stuff that ed brown is doing or les baer even a high end kimber. dont think colt even compares. but opinions are like ( o )'s everyones got one.
