  1. Oh Maks... :( ... The old timers DO NOT want Communism. And as for Stalin...... How could you say that they like him... He killed more of his own

people than WWII. Did you ever hear of the Ethnic purges before the war.

It's not only Jews that he singled out. Turks, Gypsies, Ukranians, Poles,Mongols...... the list goes on and on. The only reason alot of people

"chose" sides was to get away from that demon, and Serfdom was the only life they knew. The only people who want Communism back are the ones who

had worked for the Government, not the common folk.

How many Iraqis still love Sadam?

  2. There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all... The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic... There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

    And I agree. +1 TR.

ETA: One of the things that annoy me greatly is when people say that the US is now a tossed salad versus a melting pot. TR called it almost 100 years ago now (the above snippet is from a speech made in 1915). While I have no issues with people having a cultural identity, people must have their roots in this nation.

    Also agreed 120%

  3. The R8s really have dropped in price recently(just like every other exotic) and there's no denying it's a gorgeous car.... With that being said, my poor-man's whip could obliterate it in a straight line(the new v10 powerplant is a MUCH better fit, but still underpowered), and could give it a run on a road course. For the money there are much better performing cars.

Also from a styling and driving enjoyment-only standpoint, I'll take a 360CS, F430, or Gallardo ANY day(also the same price range and similar performance).

  4. Thanks for the replies everyone... I think I'm going to buy the Beretta, but there are a bunch more guns that have cluttered up the safes over the years. Anything that is going to be sold will be posted here first.

  5. I may be wrong but its my understanding that the only time he can "lend" you the handgun is in person and in attendance. In other words if the two of you are at the range and he hands it over to you to shoot, thats ok. From what I understand, what you are describing is not and actually would constitute an illegal transfer.

 That's the first I've ever heard of something like that.

EDIT: Just checked with a Detective Sgt I know and as far as he knows, so long as both persons posses valid FID cards there shouldn't be a problem. YMMV however...

  6. Was doing a little spring cleaning in my parent's safes and came across my mom's first ccw, a little Beretta chambered in .25cal. The 'rents had forgotten that it existed and want to sell it(along with a bunch of other guns they've collected over the years). I think it looks really cool and would make a great last ditch weapon due to it's size and weight so I'm thinking I might buy it off them. Any thoughts?

Here's a pic of one I found online for reference:

  7. 8 hours?? Weaksauce... I could do it in 6 1/2 easy.

    475 miles in 390 minutes = 32.6683077 m / s

    That's a moving average of 73mph.

Reset your GPS stats to zero and try to give that one a whirl.

Even if your typical speed on the road is 85mph, your moving average probably won't get much over 63mph.

Try to run 85mph on rt80 in Ohio. I lived there for 28 years. You'll get about 5 miles.

I participate in a road rally every year from Philly to Miami... we usually maintain 80-85mph incl stops ;)

  8. Hey guys,

I'll be moving to a different town within NJ, and I was wondering if there is some kinda of time frame by which I have to change the address on my FID card and do I have to register my weapons with the new municipality?

    Thanks

I believe it's 30 days to update your FPID if you don't want to go through the whole initial process again.

And NO, do not register your firearms, you are not legally required to, and there is no reason to.

I was told by Franklin PD, after moving from Piscataway, that I would have to go through the entire process again, regardless of time frame.

  9. What about renters insurance? I called up geico and they gave me a quote with no details, I tried emailing back to ask for all the details and never got any response. Anyone know a good company for renter's insurance who will tell me all the details?

My gf has Provident, and has been happy with them so far. Not sure on their stance regarding firearms though, as she doesn't own any, and if she did I would have them covered under my HO policy.
