  1. alright. ive seen some prices on these ranging from 250-300$. i understand that lower end firearms tend to jam more . does this apply to the Chiappa 1911-22? im trying to get a bearing on how this gun compares to the colt or springfield 1911's

Just to add my $.02 my Springfield has never FTF or jammed in probably 7-800 rounds since I purchased it.

  2. Okay, since I am new and need to pick up ammo for home defense.

I am confused about the hollow point as opposed to jacketed hollow point. Is there a differense?

    What about hydra shok?

    Whats legal?

    TIA..

From what I understand, you can own hollow points, transport them with your vehicle(seperate from any guns), and shoot them at the range or while hunting. Outside of that, you can not use them for self-defense. A LEO I work with recommended the Federal expanding FMJ for HD.

  3. my wife has never shot, but is not terrified of guns. she just doesn't care for it. Although she did threaten me once saying "if you ever mess around, Just remember I know where the gun is!" LOL

I want to get my son into it, but I'm not sure what's the appropriate age for him to start. he'll be 7 in a couple months.

Welcome to the forum. I started shooting with my father around that time frame. Keep the emphasis on safety and you should be GTG :)

  4. Whatever you can hit a zombie in the head with reliably, I guess. I don't remember there being anything in zombie flix that was specific about caliber. Maybe .22lr would work. In the Night of the Living Dead, the main guy found a .30-30 lever rifle and used it to off the zombies as I recall. If we are talking about a SHTF situation, I would go with 5.56,it would likely be easiest to find/get/trade for. If that were to happen, I would think a low profile and sharp eyes are the best weapons, backed up with a firearm

IMO when planning for the Zombie war, you need to plan for a total SHTF situation in addition to zombies. The chances of a SHTF situation is increased several hundred percent when you introduce zombies.

  5. will do, the gun club was in threat in 07 when the fire ripped through town.. fire fighters kept it off at simms place from coming into town, very close call on that one.

Yea I was stressing hard when that one came through. First thing I thought of when you posted this thread.

  6. fire is on the otherside of town, i use to live on beaver dam rd, my parents house..

which club ? probably ran into you at lucilles before.. or out hunting..

Haha... the old Polish Nat'l Rod and Gun Club that was disbanded years ago. We certainly may have met...I'm usually out there with my pops, and we both carry Remingtons with scopes.

  7. Just take one look in your own Schools parking lot......Teachers drive average based cars.

Administrators drive cars that are 70k and up. Who is really suffering?

Yup. Here in Franklin there are 2 superintendants and 2 asst superintendents who made a total of $666,000 in 2009. The "head superintendent"(why do we need 2???) pulled in 206,000 ALONE! With all that the Franklin school system is CRAP.
