  1. Had A post WTB deleted for no apparent reason, other than i have not posted a lot on this board.

It doesn't take much to accumulate the 25 post minimum.

Yea, hell I've only been here what, a day?

    (+1)

  2. yeah but when you have something listed for 1200 dollars and someone offers you 500 dollars, that's an insult plan and simple.

Not if you're the only who thinks the item is worth 1200 dollars. In fact, the argument could be made that you're wasting the forum's time if you set a price outrageously high ;)

    lol. lets let this die.

The forum as a whole knows the value.... if it is public, the person will get hammered, if it is private. just ignore it.

    done. =P

    Agreed... just :deadhorse: now.

  4. I've been more of a "hunting weapon" kinda guy for the majority of my life but when I turned 21 I decided to buy my first handgun, a Springfield 1911. Ever since then I find that I get more and more enjoyment out of shooting that than my 870 or .22 rifles. With that being said I'm afraid of wearing the gun down since I shoot 50-100 rounds every time out. What are the common areas to look for wear, and what should be replaced every x number of rounds as preventative maintenance?

well, look who it is......small world.

guns arent cars. they dont need things like preventative maintenance. only if you shoot competitively, around 10K rounds per year, will things like barrels and springs wear out. there are more 100 year old guns with 100K+ rounds through them still shooting, bone stock, then there are 100 year old cars with 100K miles on them.

Lol wow look at that... Def a small world. How's the t/a treatin ya?

  5. I don't see why you should be upset about someone offering to buy an item that you have for sale, regardless of that offer. In fact if you feel their offer is such a lowball, then counter equally. In your case try replying that you'll sell for $390. You may find that the buyer may come up to your price and you get that sale for minimally less than your asking price.

  6. Not being a Chef or having a tenth of the culinary talents my wife has but don't you need salt in certain recipes?

Of course all I do is microwave or grill/ No salt usually in either.

Your BBQ rubs and marinades all have salt in em... You're screwed! :o

  7. jOn, I cant say 100% that Im right BUT I havent seen a pair even on ambi guns that had the ball cuts all the way through like yours. A search of a few online pics and they were not all the way through either.

Meh... oh well doesn't seem to affect the function of the gun in anyway, plus the grips were bought by the previous owner. I have the stock wooden ones too but the grippers just look way better IMO.

  8. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Welcome. Like the springer. But you need to send them grips back. The manufacturere missed these in QC. They ran the ball mill to far in the top left corner. They are not supposed to break through like that.

Don't they need to be milled that far for the ambidextrous safety?

  9. Oooh I love shooting clays. Another option is the Clinton WMA. They have a "shotgun training area" that is usually dead. Just bring ammo, clays, and a hand trap and have a blast for peanuts. Only requirement is one legally licensed hunter in your group and you can use the area for free.

  11. Whats up guys... saw the link to this site on bad64chevelle's facebook page of all places

Seems like a cool place to hang so I figured I'd join and contribute my minor amount of firearm knowledge.

Anywho if anyone's interested, I'm into cars and guns, though most of my shooting takes place prepping for hunting season.

Currently have in the home safe a Springfield 1911, Remington 870 express, Remington nylon 77, and some old .22mag rifle.

Only have pics of the 1911:
