  1. Late to the party, but have you verified that the gas port was properly drilled? I built a 300aac and had the same problem until I checked the barrel's gas port for an obstruction and found it had not been fully drilled. This resulted in obviously not enough gas for the gun to run. Once fixed it never malfunctioned.

  2.

We encourage all persons, with or without firearm, to consider carrying a non-lethal deterrent such as bear spray because its success rate under a variety of situations has been greater (i.e., 90% successful for all 3 North American Species of bear; Smith et al. 2008) than those we observed for firearms” [firearm success rates were 84% for handguns, 76% for rifles]

  3.

While the CDI factor is high, the juice ain't worth the squeeze unless you are working some kind of VIP protection, low profile security, or vehicle ops gig.

If you are, I am sure you will be issued appropriate gear.

Unfortunately my employer only issues us .38s and a few Mossberg 500s with less lethal rounds. Hopefully my team will have a chance to save the life of a dignitary or the Mayor's nephew, so that they will relax the rules for us.

  4. That advice makes perfect sense to me! But who truly knows what their needs would be since we have never had to face this challenge.

I respectfully question the training for and use of full auto in a SHTF scenario. Is spray and pray useful with limited ammo, even if you had 50K it's still a limit? Chances are you won't be facing an Army regiment in such a situation so why waste the ammo?

You are posting in the wrong section... go here for tin foil fantasies: http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/forum/170-nj-prepared/

  5. Holy crap am I late to the party. Huge huge congratulations to you and your partners Tony!!! This is extremely exciting news and I can't freaking wait to see and shoot at the new location. Couldn't be happier with the new ownership.

  6. You went way overboard on what you need to do. If that makes you more comfortable, then more power to you. I have flown out of Newark several times with a handgun. I lock the handgun and a box of ammo in a plano box(with a padlock) and stuff it in my unlocked suitcase. It takes all of 5 extra minutes more time to fill out whatever form/card my given airline requires and bring my bag to the TSA for x-ray. The X-ray is only intended to verify the gun is unloaded(you can easily see if there are rounds in the gun).
