  1. ill definitly look into les baer, im kind of on the outs with the colt, because i dont see a 9 mm option in a full size. springfield is looking like the choice... if im even going for a 1911 now so many choices. thanks to all the above. still looking at everything and weighing my options.
  2. to the above, thanks for the responses. that makes me feel better about a springfield . to jager , how much money did you put into customizing your ithaca 1911?
  3. thanks all for the responses. feels good to finally be able to post on a forum and get respectful and competant thoughts from so many folks . im gonna start hunting around, getting a budget together, and picking out the best firearm i can . thanks again
  4. Hey folks, i recently got into target and plate shooting. I got my hands on a Springfield 1911 9mm on range the other day and really loved the feel . So , needless to say, im looking to pick one up . before i do , i would like to ask opinions on people who own all kinds of 1911's and 1911a1's. Like the title says, which one do you swear by? of your experiences , which brand have you had the least problems with and lasted the longest? Of course,i would imagine price matters a bit , but yea , let the conversations begin ****Edit*** thank you for the responses so far, keep em coming. i foregot to add something . I need an ambidextrous safetey . can those be put on the model you own ?
  5. i know i know , noob question, i am a noob and im asking all the questions i can to learn as much as i can . so is there center fire .22 ammo ? or is it all rimfire ? thanks
  6. hey all, the title really says it all , im really new to the firearms world. im looking to get a chiappa 1911-22 as my first pistol . target shooting is my goal, so im looking at some ammo . idk whats good and whats not. any help on this particuliar ammo ( CCI .22Lr) would be helpful. Thanks
  7. im looking at picking some of these up . i see that they are priced at 500rds for 23.00 or so. So knowing that, is it worth it ? are they good? bad ? theyll be used for simple target shooting. if anyone has used these , id like to hear from you Thanks
  8. thank you thank you and thank you
  9. alright. ive seen some prices on these ranging from 250-300$. i understand that lower end firearms tend to jam more . does this apply to the Chiappa 1911-22? im trying to get a bearing on how this gun compares to the colt or springfield 1911's
  10. Anyone ever had one? Used one? whats your opinion? Thanks
  11. its interesting how many small variations there are from area to area. my PD no longer does the fringer printing., they sent me to sagem morpho bimetrics to do the fingerprinting, they charged me 40 bucks. then 7 or 8 bucks for the filing.
