I'm probably in the same boat. I do like to tinker and build things, so I won't rule it out.

My advice to any home builders is simply to use an 11.5" or longer barrel, make sure to use a vertical foregrip, and remove the brace from the buffer tube to measure the OAL. If you have any questions (I'm not an attorney) feel free to PM me.

What OAL does this set up typically equate to from end of barrel threads to end of buffer tube?

  2. That's the result of the ruling. No en banc means the original ruling stands and they have a week to adhere (or request a delay).  If they decide to challenge to SCOTUS they will also probably ask for an injunction.
So they can either not challenge and have the reasonable need to carry abolished, or ask for an injunction from the Supreme Court?

    Are there any other scenarios?

I'm interested in picking this up once it becomes available.

I put out a feeler through the Gun Price Request and received one response basically saying they won't sell this gun because it's illegal in NJ.  :vinsent:

I didn't bother with a response but I am curious- besides the obvious(combo of mag capacity, adj. stock, pistol grip), is there something about this specific firearm that makes it more illegal than an AR-15? Something that makes it, for lack of a better term, 'un-neuterable' to comply to NJ standards?

Also, your general input on said firearm is welcome.

I like it because it's 9mm, I like CZ(although have no experience outside of their handgun offerings) and it looks so tacticool.

  4. Ive been thinking the same exact thing. I know nothing about AR's or variants, but am familiar with the Mini-14.

Not looking to build, looking to buy something...can someone point me to a specific brand and model? The whole "substantially similar" thing is difficult for me. Like, I see specific Mini-14's on the list that are banned by name, but have been told Mini's are legal. I understand the "evil feature" part, just not the names,

I suppose I'm looking for something Bushmaster or Colt, but have also looked at the Remmy R-15's.

I work by Bullseye Tactical....should I just stop in there?

Also, does a thumbhole stock get you out of the pistol grip, like the stocks that come on the Mini-14 target rifles?

if you're trying to decide between bushmaster colt and Remington go with colt all day.

definitely check out bullseye tactical if you're in the area.
