  1. You see that comes with experience and I appreciate that. The three possible reactions make perfect sense. You really need to keep your cool as best you can and I think I'm going to look into courses that focus on home defense. If anyone knows of any respectable courses I would be interested.
  2. I am in accord with what you say that there are instances that mistakes are made.I have heard of possible scenarios for example A homeowner has come home to find the electricity cut in his house and a stranger walking around his house with a flashlight. It turns out it was the electrician and his wife had let him in to make the repairs. If someone shoots an intruder who has stealing his computer or TV in the eyes of the law he was at wrong but at the moment how do you know he is just a burglar and not going to harm you.I just find it an extraordinary how much is riding on that first call.
  3. Was just looking through my "Glock Store" catalog and I saw a book for sale titled AFTER YOU SHOOT".Its in regard to dialing 911 after you just shot an intruder in your house. How by dialing 911 you have given up your 5th amendment rights but you have no choice but to call. Its kind of screwed up that after defending yourself in your own house you must be careful what you say on a taped line because some DA is going to try and convict you for saving your life or your family's.
  4. I have a pre ban Colt SP1 that I cant bring to NJ.

  8. little Hunting fishing shop by me has a Stag Arms that is compliant.Didn't really want to spend another twelve hundred dollars.Wanted to get a 1911 but that will have to wait.
  9. Was thinking of selling it anyway not sure though. It really is a nice gun.
  10. When I was living in NY I owned a Pre Ban Colt SP1 Carbine NY grandfathered them.I live in NJ now and had to leave the SP1 at my parents home in NY.I read the NJ law and it said you have to have a permit to carry to own a pre ban.In addition to that you had to write a letter to some authority asking permission to own one.Have I read it correctly?.If I have then they made next to impossible to bring it to NJ.
  11. My Colt SP1 carbine (No forward assist) sits in New York because I'm afraid to even have it locked up in my home never mind taking it to a range.
