  1. Any interest in the gun that homeland security tried unsuccessfully to ban last year?, the gun that new jersey gun stores have never heard of, or are too nervous to purchase?, if you quessed the braverman stinger "pen gun" you are correct!, it is nj legal! though I am gladly willing to place a large bet with those who feel otherwise, money talks and all that, anyway my letter from the head of the atf states clearly it is considered a regular pistol as far as the feds are concerned. Well its brand new with "holster" (from factory, looks like leatherman holder) and its in .25 caliber.

    Kel-Tec KSG

does the kel-tec bullpup shotgun pass nj gun laws? If so, does anyone know when it might hit the market?
  3. This ignorance by the police is amazing, even more so considering what they get paid, remember folks, this was more than one cop, and possibly a supervisor, lets face it, they are hunting when they are out and about, and they had to come back with some kind of trophy, but the level of gun ignorance, should they be allowed to own guns?
  4. do you feel the basic mech tech conversion-fixed stock, plain barrel, no vertical grip, do you think that passes nj rules? what two features do you find on it if you still think it fails nj law? thanks for your rssponse! gunguy1960

    Kel-Tec KSG

kel tec bullpup is awesome!!!! kel tec seems to want to make nj friendly versions of their guns so hopefully bullpup will arrive here, even with less capacity (less weight), Im still a buyer, EXCELLENT pictures of the bullpup, thank you to any and all for those!!
  6. check out springfield Xd in 45acp, thirteen rounds, great hand fit, excellent reviews, also mech tech will have carbine conversion out this year for them.
  7. thank you for your answer, which leads to the question, so in regards to nj semi auto handgun laws in particular, how do you think mech tech conversions fit in?
  8. glennP, regarding mech tech, you mentioned two evil features, with a fixed stock and plain, unthreaded barrel, which mech tech offers, do you still see two bad features?, I just see the barrel covering (1). thanks for any insight!
  9. If dancing thru NJ laws regarding AK-like firearms makes you nervous, consider the CZ vz-58, it is available in many legal friendly versions and is considered a "better gun" in many circles.
  10. I recently contacted the nj state police and attorney generals office regarding altering an sks with a fixed magazine. My question was can it be altered since it is not in the general category ( semi auto, detachable magazine). the response was as long as it is not on the list, (remember, Fixed magazine), that it didnt matter if a flash hider, folding stock , and so on were added. If the first two requirements are not met- semi auto, DETACHABLE magazine, then the rest does not apply. Of course capacity rules apply still. Well I wanted to share that, and I welcome comments and experiences from others who try to navigate the mystery of NJ laws that only the law abiding try to comply with. We can all dream though, have you seen kel-tecs bull pup shotgun? P.S. anyone who needs a copy of my correspondence with the state is welcomed to it.
  11. mech tech makes a conversion for pistols. It takes the slide off a glock, 1911, XD, and replaces it with a 16 inch plus barrel (NON THREADED), to this a FIXED stock is attached. My question is I think this is legal in NJ because the only offense seems to be it adds a hand holding feature over the barrel, and for a NJ semi pistol this is one strike against. Now the tricky part is that NJ law requires two strikes. The only other possible strike is one I believe doesnt apply. That is the weight, but the NJ law says MANUFACTURED weight, and these guns all have an approved manufactured weight. Yes we would be altering the weight here, but when you add lights, lasers etc you do that as well, the law is clear when it uses a specific term like MANUFACTURED. And no, Im not a manufacturer of guns. Well, anyone want to add their two cents?
