I live in east windsor and I can say my local PD is fairly pro 2a. The detective in charge of issuing FID and PPP ( Detective Brian Gorski) is very pro 2a. We get permits dam fast here. Usually in less than 7 days.
On the other hand, I have a friend that is a LEO that is fairly anti. He told me that I cannot have hollow point at all and he would arrest someone that did have them. I tried to inform him that he could open himself or his township up to a lawsuit if he did not learn the laws of this state. It did not go well!
Also, he wont carry if not on duty.. That is weird to me

Sorry about that Ken. Ok, no more shooting my guns for you!! (Just kidding)
Did you get the 220?
HAHA! Not yet.. I hit a little roadblock in my life. It has everything to do with my situation I told you about last time at the range. There is an end in sight though!

Any ammo restrictions (such as steel core)?

I know all about knees. I have had both of mine fixed more than once and have been told that I need a knee replacement on my left one. Nobody will do it because I am too young at 40. I find myself navigating slippery surfaces like I am 80 years old. Just dont fall for the pain med trap! I refuse to become a junky and will not take any opiate pain killer. I have just learned mind over matter with it for now.
And BTW, I still love the snow!

Consider it a blessing in disguise. Ruger extractors are crap! I wore out the extractor in my MkIII and 10/22 (same part by the way) in about 2000 rounds. I will swear by the Volquartsen exact edge extractor. The one in my MkIII probably has over 5000 rounds and it still throws the brass about 15 feet.

Ill snap up some federal automatch 22's when I find them. I get the absolute best accuracy out of my ruger MKIII with them. I am not quite certain how they would perform in a riffle though.

Have YOU ever been at CJ to shoot? I'll tell you a secret: The MOTIVE you're looking for is simple: Keep the Trash out, and I'm NOT talking about folks on fixed incomes--I'm talking about SLOBS! Ya see, when a MEMBER of a private club pays that kind of money, they tend to treat the grounds with respect, like it was their own back yard (or NICER)! And all of the members tend to help each other, look out for each other, etc. Then there's the fact that they don't have to put up with the Range being called "COLD" almost half of the clock time you're PAYING FOR!
To even compare the two (CJ and Range #14) is simply ludicrous, and I say this having only been guested there and have shot leagues there. There REALLY is a difference worth paying for, and my assumption is the THOUSANDS of members they have at CJ will attest to that......... Having said all that, to each their own, and may you enjoy the shooting sports wherever you decide to go.
Absolutely correct! I have met many great people there.
As others have said you really cant compare them. For me the convenience and privacy is more than worth it.
I shot at range 14 before I joined CJ. I went there maybe 4x a year bc I was never off when they were open. When I did get there I had to deal with ceasefires every 30 min that took 15 min each. And then there were the RO's who are incessantly nosey. But it is cheap.
For me, I will gladly trade my money for the ability to shoot whenever I feel like it and not deal with ro's, ceasefires, or wondering if I will get a lane when its busy.
Thats rite. That way we can stand there and BS and shoot at our own pace. Im still resisting the Tavor for now since NJPilot costs me a bunch of cash by letting me fire a few of his guns!
i belonged to one other club (that I wont name) and left because I did not fit into the "click" that was in charge. I went to range 14 after that and then here. Im not going anywhere! CJRPC is expensive to get in but worth every penny.

A hammer or just a few seconds in the microwave takes care of the chips as well.
doesnt the microwave take out the magnetic strip though? Working on towers near RF equipment erases em all good. Ive wrecked many a card that way.

You don't necessarily need to have your card stolen or lost for X amount of time. With criminals having those RFID scanners in their possession, all they need to do is to scan your back pocket or purse and all your CC info is then stolen.
I use these in my wallet…I haven't had any issues with my CC's or anything so they could have worked, or are working. At least I feel a little more secure using them.

I take it one step further.. I use a hole punch to remove the chip. I have not been anywhere yet that actually uses those things.

WTF were you doing in SE?
Rehabing schools in beautiful gang infested south east DC. It makes camden look tame. Ive done schools there too.

Im working on three safes now. its funny how fast they fill up. One of them only contains ammo though... I wish I had enough firepower to fill three!

Ill be the negative one here, You could not pay me enough to go back to that dam place. I spent 3 years working in the south east and came back with bullet holes in the trucks. If you stay in the governement tourist area you will be ok. DO NOT venture too far outside of it though. That place is hell on earth.

they got 38sp, 45acp, 300 AAC blkout, and 50bmg ATM
Hmmm. I guess I should have looked harder before I posted. There is still nothing I need in stock!
Ammo is still scarce I suppose. I have to start reloading faster to keep up with my range habit. It may be time for me to get a dillon

Definitely check out Craigslist if you havent done so already.
Plenty of business on there. [/quote
Not looking for business.
Jebus, jus trying to help a brother out.
I was taught to lead by example, I dare others to do the same.
Community, google it
I do the same. I take care of several neighbors that either cant do it or cant afford it. I just dont have the time to extend it any further.
Pay it forward is the way to go!

Im not trying to be an ass, but..
Do they ever have anything else other than 9mm? I am either unlucky with timing or they just simply never have anything but 9mm.

You would need to arrange the group buy before the powder is in stock. By the time everyone gets it together this stuff will be gone. I pick up powder in my travels and it is out there a little more than it was in brick and mortar stores. Online it is still dam scarce and goes fast.

On one of the forums I used to moderate we would just banish troublemakers to the basement. We made them their own forum to raise hell in. Once you did your time in the basement you where let out again. While in the basement that was the only section you cold post in. Three strike rule applied. After the 3rd trip to the basement you where done. I personally think that was more fun than warning points.

Its a good place. I went through the NRA junior program there many many years ago! I would shoot there today but I am far more into high power rifle than pistol so its not ideal for me. Shame is that I am only 10 minutes away.

I am thinking about heading there on Friday to join, anything I need to know before joining ?

The most important thing to know is this..
DONT SPEED! Cookstown has a nice little money making speed trap near there.

Order finally arrived 22lr ( I love Cabelas) 1/29/14

It is getting better. Prices are not so much. There was a period of time that you could not get 22lr no matter how much you where willing to pay. Now, its out there, the prices are down a little, but its still kinda expensive. Just recently I picked up a couple of 325 round brick of CCI mini mags for about $26 each. That works out to $8 per hundred (or .08 per round) witch is not great but not terrible. My point is that it was available. I have been unable to find these things anywhere for a while.
Also, I purchased them at a brick and mortar local store.
