Does anyone have the Beretta 87 Cheetah? Seems to be a 22lr clone of the 92, open slide and all. Not too thrilled with the 8 round mags though. Any feedback from someone that has one? Thanks!

I noticed that the mags are polymer. Do they drop free when you hit the release? This is important for my intended use. My 1911 kit the mags are aluminum and drop free and also lock in place very well.

I was going to use it for steel matches, so I would need 5 mags. I have a conversion kit for my 1911 that runs flawless even with bulk ammo. But I was thinking of this kit so I could run the same pistol between all the various matches on 22lr and 9mm. If I didn't have a kit for the 1911, I would be all over this as I love my P226, but for now it's a want rather than a need

I am considering one of these as well. A lot of great, detailed info. Thanks everyone!
Also, here's the best price I found online. I've never bought from this place, though, so I can't vouch for them:
Shipping is $12.50. They also have the mags for $38, which is a good price. Then you need to add the hold-open follower for another $22 each mag, and the metal guiderod. Its adding up quickly over $525 with 5 mags! Its the mag price that is pushing the cost, need 5 to shoot steel.

Great! Now I will wait for the next sale, maybe there will be one for Presidents day.

The peening seems a bit worry some, but would not a dremel take care of that?

Does anyone have the Sig 22lr conversion kit for the 226? I am thinking of this and looking for feedback from anyone who has it.
How is the balance and frame fit?
How is the quality?
Does it run reliably with the Fed bulk 550 stuff?
Does it have last shot slide hold open?
Can it be damaged by dry-fire?
Are the mags good? How are mag prices?
Is the best place to purchase directly from Sig?
Thanks!

I can't speak for TN, but Ohio this past summer was about 15 cents a gallon more than NJ. We are probably in the top five for lowest fuel prices.
I was just north of Cincinatti area off i75 in early July, premium was much cheaper there than NJ. Maybe up north by the lakes is more expensive?

Among the cheapest gas in the country if not the cheapest
Full Service gas for no extra cost.
I dont believe this anymore. This past summer I was in Ohio and Tennesee, gas was cheaper out there by at least 20 cents.

War of the Worlds took place here, I think the alien farm silo that was shot up by the local Grovers Mill farmers is still standing.

I have an original Kimber kit, I think ciener made it, runs flawless even with those bulk 550 packs, very accurate. Don't know if it would fit on these STI 9mm pistols? If they do, I would pick up a Spartan

I was thinking if the cheaper ciener or kimber kits would fit

Do the 22lr conversion kits work on these 9mm, or only on the 45 version?

I use a debit card. No fees or any BS like that, and if I don't have the money for something, I can't get it! Makes it real easy to keep my finances in the black.
...
I dont use those debit visa cards anymore. A few years back was buying some stuff at a local camera shop. The guy accidently rang up some extra stuff on the counter that was not mine. He voided the transaction immediately, but visa did not release my funds back to me for 5 days, it locked my balance out and I could not use the card until I put in more cash into the account. I shredded the card after that and only use real visa cards now.

You could go with the M&P 15 ORC

Need a credit card for the warrenty extensions, rental car coverage, accidental breakage coverage, guarenteed refunds, cash back, credit scores...
Just dont carry a balance!

No info on the barrel/block/chamber type of material.
Also, is it safe action or internal hammer? Reason I ask, for gun games you need to drop the hammer for da, set the safety for 1911 style, or nothing with safe action. I see it has a manual safety, is this a hammer lock or decocker?

What type of metal is used for the barrel and block? It's hard to tell from the pictures. Is it steel, stainless, aluminum, pot metal? Is it mim, cast, cnc? Just trying to get a feeling of the quality.

+1 on the CZ. This is a case where you get much more than you pay for!

.... Of course, I am upside down in my house and can't go anywhere now
Don't make that a reason not to move. Yes, you will take a hit, but also note the housing in Delaware is also down, so it will balance out. Will you wait 5 years and hope the housing market comes back? 10 years? And you may still only be lucky to break even here, yet pay a higher cost there. What will the tax and cost of living savings be over 5 years? You may be able to swing the move now, and since you can show negative you may not be hit with the NJ transfer fee. Hate to say it, but housing now is like the stock market, do you sit in a loss and hope for recovery, or take the initial hit and move on?

Can you use 9mm carbines at the OB IDPA events? I thought I heard this but have not confirmed?

I am still fond of purchasing a 1911 in 45acp, then getting a 22lr conversion kit. You get a better weighted and balanced frame with a better grip. Even if you rarely put the large lead through it, I feel you still come out ahead. Can any of the 9mm 1911's run the 22lr kits? Another option.
For the Ruger MK series, sure maybe not the best looks but my 7" mk1 never jams on any ammo with very minimal maintenance, and very accurate hand held easily at 25yards, you just cant find fault with them!

If you use comcast for your internet, they provide norton suite for free. Otherwise I like AVG.
