In my m&p I run the Spikes tactical st-t2 buffer, the one that is powder filled. With it, I noticed reduced recoil, smoother action as I can get back on target faster, eliminated the buffer spring twang sound, and shells eject at about 2:30 with federal bulk.

I was also thinking of doing this. But if I drop cable I still need internet, then phone, then hulu plus or other services, and then I would only save $5 per month. Now if I can cancel the phone and do without the other shows, I can save some cash. I think you would save more by switching to 22lr.

I always wore light weight safety glases over my regular prescription wear, it may feel odd at first but you quickly adapt. Then I had Lasik, its cheaper in the long run.

My first and only 1911 is a Kimber gold match-1 in stainless, I have a love/hate relationship with it. I have no technical issues with it, shoots better than I can, looks great, but I would not buy another one.

They have to be, they are protecting what is most likely the largest stash of gold, art work, and historic relics known (and unknown) to man. It's too bad they won't let the general public see or appreciate most of it.
And the cheese, don't forget the cheese

Have fun today, just didnt get up in the morning in time, not even close!

7mm 08? That is a good caliber. Not for this steel though. Stick with pistol calibers or rifle rounds past 100 yards.
no, larger, 7mm Rem Magnum. Made a nice sound! Count me in for the 1" steel buy

Range report:
Slight scrape marks from 223. No problem using the hex bolts. Then I tried the 7mag, put a 5/8" crater about 3/8" deep and dimpled the back, this at 100 yards with one shot. Need to hold off on those, but still very fun!
Thank you again for putting this together!

Can these 9mm-1911s run the same 22lr conversion kits as the 45?
-
Did you get the co2 or green-gas version? I have read reviews that the co2 gets about 60 rounds per 80cent air cartirdge, where the green gas also gets about the same round count, but you can recharge off the grill's propane tank.

Shooting 2 different guns each?
Yes. If we only go one class, then it goes $40 vs $8. Still heading south

OB is 20 for nonmembers. Not sure if Juniors are any cheaper.
Ouch, so with my son I am potentially looking at $80 from OB vs $16 for CJ. I am heading south!
-
How much is OB for non-members and juniors?
-
How much is static steel for non-members and juniors at OB? My son and I did CJ static steel, lots of fun, non-member was $8 per gun, juniors were free.

Another vote for the hogue grip, I also have it on my mk2. My son is lefty and uses my mk2 for steel matches. The mag release is on the bottom, perfect for lefties. For releasing the slide he uses the bolt ears.
Perhaps you can search for a nice used mk2

Depending on you circumstances, don't dismiss the inexpensive guns. When I first got into trap/skeet I picked up a Stoger Condor o/u for about $250 new, I did not know my level of interest with clays yet. I shoot well with it, but after the clay excitement wore off the first two years I only go about dozen times per year. I would not buy any of the new Stogers, but the older ones like the Condor are workhorses. I am getting my kids into clays, and I don't cringe when the Condor gets banged/dinged. Yes, my friends Remington is much nicer, and I would not mind having one, but the Condor has served me well and matches my needs. Now, if clays take off with one of the kids, then I will pick up a nicer o/u for myself.

Mine is about 11 years old, came in large blue plastic box, stainless model, it fires anything I throw in it from cci to federal bulk. Very accurate. Does not lock back on last shot, but no peening at all. I use it at steel matches, very reliable.

I also have a full size 1911 in 9mm on my short list, maybe the SW.

If you go inexpensive, for your $600 limit you can get both a pump for hd, and a double-barrel for clays. If you have rubber shoulders, just get a limbsaver for the double barrel.

Awesome, got my steel via relay with knuckle sandwich...thanks again Dan...and thank you Harry for setting this all up. Only thing, I wish the holes weren't so close together(thats what she said lol). Personally I would of liked each hole down and out another 1/2" to help separate the hardware a lil more...I'm totally not an expert on this, just something I noticed right away when I saw it.
My thought also at first, but very easily fixed. Just get one of those multi-hole bars for garage door openers from homedespot. You can then place the chain anywhere, or even attach two plates to the bar.

I used 5/16" bolts, the holes are 3/8"
How long is the chain, looks like about 12" ?

Are the German ones now collectors items:)
-
So how are these compared to the Made In Germany original 15 rounders? Are the German ones now considered collector items and should be stored, or it it that these are much cheaper?
Made up some target stands
