  1. some/most Officers take great offense when a card is turned down, i've seen the pissing matches first hand over no front plate tickets. However, insults will get you no where no matter what. We're not talking about downsizing offenses were talking about neglecting them all together. Also the discretion of the officer when presented with a PBA card/shield will always take priority over the offense, i've personally been a apssenger in a car traveling 90mph out of the Lincoln tunnel pulled over, pba cards presented and a have a nice day. I commend officers who look at them as nothing more then a piece of paper. The fact is if an officer turns down a card, he will most likely get a phone call of some sort asking why he gave the ticket... as if he's supposed to just let people break the law.

    agreed

  2. Gold PBA shields are not a pass as discussed on this board. I have badges in all my cars because my realtives are LEO's. I never pull out a PBA card and my relatives say that I am stupid and they are police officers. I never look for a pass. A police oficer is going to enforce the law at his DISCRETION. It is so funny, I was travelling back with my friend and he is a detective and he said when he worked in traffic, he would only ticket cars at 90 mph and above. He said alot of tickets will get downgraded and at that speed limit, it would downgrade to 1-15 mph ticket. Anything over 5 mph would downgrade to a seatbelt. So, againg it is disecretion. One of friends is a Captain and he went to a motor vehicle stop to speak with the drunk driver who was a daughter of a chief in another town. He offered to have her father pick her up. She called him the "N" word and he gave her the tickets and locked her a** up. So, I don'y think it is the card, badge or wallet badge. It is the cop and discretion. Just my $.02

  3. Well i'm 22 years old and the only carrear i have had so far has been welding and selling cars. I've sold cars to more cops than i can count who say they wouldnt trade it for the world. And theyre not buying cheap ford focus's , they were buying Roush mustangs and F-350 diesels!

My favorite customer john Polatta, who is the president of the retired state police Takes a Hunting trip to canada f every year and is loaded!

So here's how i see it.

Belmar cops WORK AT THE BEACH half the year , you start at $30/k + $750/week if you have an associates. They cap at $83K plus half of them have side jobs like landscaping, Snow plowing , and viking private security, so like i said they're makin money.

    -Your helping the community ,

-Half the places you eat at feed you free(my father's pizza place for example)

-After all the friends i had die from drugs i want to do everything i can to prevent that from happening to someone else.

-And the girls love a man in uniformsarcastic_hand.gif

And i do agree, after doing alot of research it does seem that PA cops have a little easier life, but this is where all of my family lives.

I agree with this and I think the way the system has been revised there pendulum is swinging toward the state. There are plenty of jobs where you can travel and have "side" jobs. I travel about 15-20 times a year, lecture and consult for a drug company and I am not law enforcement. I am not saying do not become a police officer il especially if your heart and desire it into it. My best friend is truly into his career and WORKS in the community every day. I am sorry to hear about your friends but you get involved worth the drug alliance in your community. This will bolster your application and your "commitment" to your community. Also, have you looked in the southern states. Before my friend become a state trooper, he worked as a LEO Maryland State Police.

  4. Well, I was in Cincinatti and I CCW with my SA TRP...First time and it felt odd. But I was there for meetings and a formal. I had a Shoulder holster for my tux and suits. Felt VERY comfortable. I had my TRP on my hip all the time. First time in the Natti and let me tell you that the city has been hit HARD economically. Alot of empty buildings and the homeless is everywhere. The new career is "panhadling". I had given so much money to watch someone dance to a young lady in a wheelchair. Overall, I had no problems with my gun. I was with a frat brother who is a NJ LEO (retired) and even said "damn, do have it?" Pretty humbling experience in respect to our state and gun laws....

  5. Thanks for your reply, i am on the last waiting part! decided on a handgun and went to a local gunstore but they din't have what i wanted to buy, person said it would take a few days. few days is not a lot to wait but when weeks pass by and no one is calling? i called the store one time and was told that it haven't come in yet. waiting kills the excitement! i am patiently waiting and don't want to keep calling the store and be on somones badside but is two weeks not long enough? not nice to expect something, if it is coming or not, should i just shop somewhere else? how long does one really wait for a handgun order to arrive? thank you! have a nice evening ladies and gents!

What are you trying to get?

  6. For the value ....STI is great

BUT...SA GI is better...Lifetime warranty and tons of mods that can be done to tailor your gun...

I have the SS SA TRP and it is my HD and go to gun for the range....I used to take my SA SC .40 and it is heavily modded for HD and love both...

  7. Over the weekend, I saw and held a Kimber Carry Crimson Trace for 970 new...I dont how your budget is but I would scrap another three to four hundred and get the new. The only reason I did not get it was I really wanted a SA TRP and I bought the TRP...
