  1. I fly back and forth to my second home in AZ all the time, with connections all over the place based on the cheapest fare. I've flown from ACY and PHL, taking my gun along is never a problem. Once you check your bag, it should not come back into your possession until you reach your final destination. I keep my handgun in a locking case, as per TSA rules, with a printed copy of the TSA AND Airline policies INSIDE the case with the gun, in case there is any issue. The gun case is then packed in my duffel bag. It's always the same drill: I keep the handgun disassembled. They have me open the case and look at it to be sure it's not loaded. I sign a card that goes in the case, and occasionally the bag with the gun case in it is brought to a TSA station for a search. When I left AZ last week they swabbed the inside of my bag which was a first. I have never had any issues or questions regarding the legality of the firearm. I keep ammo in the stock cardboard boxes inside my baggage, wrapped in a towel, I never keep loaded mags. Use common sense when driving to/from the airport, as you know the gun must be in a separate vehicle compartment from the ammo, though I believe if the case with the gun is locked you can have the ammo loose in the vehicle.
  2. So I have an AZ carry permit, and I maintain a residence there, though my primary residence and drivers lic are NJ. I'm assuming I cannot carry, even though I have an AZ permit, and an AZ state ID? I need to go get a drivers license out there.
