  3. Getting your record expunged will do little for you. Expunging arrest records are for public domain removed/redacted only. Your employer, credit buearues or private enitities will be unable to view.

Law Enforcement of all kinds will still see your arrest record until the day you die!

Don take my word for it go get a free consultation with a lawyer and see fer yerself

  4. Speaking of Ammo.

Where is the law that states you have to give your FOID # to purchase ammo in NJ.

Someone I know has recently put in his FOID paperwork and was looking to purchase ammo.

The online url's he perused either didnt ship handgun ammo of required his FID on file.

Whenever I purchase in NJ I'am asked for my card, yet he says he cant find anything stating it is a requirement to purchase ammo.

    Any help on this?

  5. When ever I was working at NWK Airport, This guy always inspected our trucks in the morning as he worked the overnight. Seemed like a real nice guy, soft spoken with a sense of humor. I've had a cup of coffee with him off that coffee truck more than once.

His day job believe it or not was a morticians assistant.

I sure do hope he gets the assistance he needs to get his legally owned firearms returned to him.

  6. I like the factory crimp die for pistol rounds as it allows me to use crappier brass that others would toss, and eliminates the need to check every loaded round for it's ability to chamber in my gun. Also, as for the bullet puller, you WILL screw rounds up, and will have to pull the bullets in order to reuse the components. This is not necessary if you're JUST starting(you can stash the screwed up rounds in a bin somewhere until you get a puller) but it is something you will need to buy eventually.

Thanx for the info I appreciate it, Im going to try to go without crimping and see what happens, 2 rounds I will be reloading is for a revolver hopefully they will pass muster.

  7. Well im glad I cruised through here today. I just ordered a Lee 4 hole Turret Press with auto index value kit. Now I saw both the carbide 4 die sets and 3 die sets.

Do you need to crimp after loading pistol loads? With $$$ being tight could I get 3 die sets and load without crimping? Or do the 3 die sets crimp and I'm missing something. Is the bullet remover/puller necassary immediately or could it wait till a later date? Im just trying to squeeze my budget to the bare minimum without having my wife go nutso :)

  8. My buddy was arrested for distribution in college but was never convicted. He just applied for his FID and was wondering if its going to affect it. It was his first offense and was knocked down to PTI, everything was good after that and he was told it would be dropped after 6 months.

    thanks guys

I was charged with armed roberry in NYC in the 70's. charges were dropped in court after no show by accusers who used fake names and addresses, We my buddy who did have a gun and I were falsely accused of robbery. He did have to face gun charges but thats another matter.

I go for my FID Im waiting and waiting so I asked the Sgt. I thought you said 6 weeks, He said Oh we gottta hit on your backround check. I was like huh??? He said you ever have any problems in NYC??? I said ya gotta be kidding me right.

Needless to say the arresting authority has to give a written report on your arrest and outcome of the charges to your local Police. The Chief of your Local PD has the fate of your card in his hands.

I did ask how this could be since the charges were dropped. He said the arrest and what I was are charged with will be on my record for legal authorities to view until the day i die.

I got my FID in my back pocket.

  9. Wait like Pton? As in the woods outside my office?

Humn, Price request for a smith wesson 500 is en route... although...

Whats the stopping power of the 50 AE against bears?

Killin Bears (in self defense of course) in style.

Well I got my 170lb 3 year old female this year with a 50 cal. CVA black powder rifle at about 40 yds. I hit the spine took out her back legs I dont know how far I would have had to chase her if it wasnt for the lucky shot. They are one strong tough animal!

  10. CVA Accura V2 50 cal, I looked at the TC Encore and Triumph among others but the Accura just felt good in my hands.

    I put a Bushnel 1.75-4 x 32 scope on it.

Rich from Simon peter suggested a load out of 80 grain 209 Black Horn powder with 250 grain Barnes bullet and a magnum primer.

What else am I lookin for to get myself set up. Im hopein to get a deer and maybe with some luck a Black bear this season with my smoke stick

  11. How was managing the .4 out of the gun? .40 isn't the easiest caliber to manage, and the SR40 is a bit smaller. Also, how far out were the targets that you were shooting at? Grouping that close at 5 yards away is much different than 25 yards away.

I believe I managed well after about the first 10 to 15 rounds. I thought I got into a good rythm ya know , squeeze, lower, settle on target, exhale, squeeze ect. Ive fired rifles, ya know the Army issue type but never a hand gun. recoil was never overbearing.

The Targets were at 25 feet what about 8 yards? I thought that would be a good distance to start and get acclimated and comfortable.

Speaking of distance, whenever I had to hit that 300 yarder I always had to aim a little high squeeze pull yer cheek off the stock and watch it drop, neat stuff

  12. Picked up my new Ruger KSR40 on thursday and tryed it out today at the Cherry Ridge Range. Nobody was at the PR range So I set up all my stuff at the table station, then walked out and put up my target as I was going back to the firing line Steve the RO approached and asked me what was I doing going out on an open Range. My first BIG MISTAKE on my first day of firsts. Being a red faced embarresed newbie was an understatement. Steve red me the riot act in a very respectable but stern manner. Safety first and always first, Target ranges guns and bullets are not good places or things to say Im sorry.

RO Steve was a great help in giving me the ins and outs of the range. He further gave me excellent tips and insights that I really appreciate and will use as I get more familiar with my hand gun.

I had a good time firing for the first time, shooting 5 rounds per mag, I actually had 4 different times where I grouped 3 shots on a dime or a quarter. One good thing, I still had all the wood attached to my target base I would say thats a good start.

Cant wait to get back and tear apart some cardboard :D

  13. 2C:39-3(j)tab.gifAny person who knowingly has in his possession a large capacity ammunition magazine is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree unless the person has registered an assault firearm pursuant to section 11 of P.L.1990, c.32 (C.2C:58-12) and the magazine is maintained and used in connection with participation in competitive shooting matches sanctioned by the Director of Civilian Marksmanship of the United States Department of the Army.

And just so there is no confusion, here's the definition of a "large capacity ammunition magazine" from the statutes...

2C39-1(y)tab.gif"Large capacity ammunition magazine" means a box, drum, tube or other container which is capable of holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition to be fed continuously and directly therefrom into a semi-automatic firearm.

Hope that clears things up for you. As was pointed out, the police are the last people you want to get legal advice from.

    Adios,

    Pizza Bob

Well, I guess this means my Buddy's 22 semiauto rifle with the fixed tube loader that holds 20 rounds or less is illegal. HHhhmmm
