    Correct me if I'm wrong, NJ residents can only apply non-resident carry permit ONLY if we work or have place of business in NY State right?  Otherwise they do not issue non-resident carry permits.

    Why should the be "outed" they have done nothing wrong.  Any range that is offering qualifications is doing their best with the limited info that the state is putting out, the state is being ambiguous at best on what the "Qualification' is...by statute its showing safe handling of a firearm. So showing any anger or outrage at the ranges is misplaced.

    With that said I agree with you that as a CCW carrier you need to take it seriously and show responsibility and get training above and beyond what any qualifications the state requires.

    The State list qualified rangers for taking quals, the local PD should only be accepting those quals from those ranges anyway.

    I personally believe 1 of your reference should be your spouse.  Because they can attest THERE IS NO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OR ABUSE.  Remember, one of the question in the application is 'have you committed domestic violence'

    On a different note, how many think that voters will like having carry permits and the politicians won't be as aggressive thinking up new firearm laws. As the gun culture grows here, people won't want Trenton playing with their newly found rights.

    And now body armor is being outlawed.  Anything that means preserving your life is outlawed!

    Think about that a lot....because, all this comes with great responsibility, restraint, situational awareness and a lot of luck that you will not ever have to draw that weapon- because if you do your life is for ever changed. ;)

     

    Carry safely and don't go looking for the shit....

    + 1.  Make sure you know what's behind the target and 'include' innocent bystanders! Take real training.  With increase of incidents they will make every attempt to revoke privileges.
