  1.

    bad argument

flood is NEVER covered by homeoweners.  Has nothing to do with act of god or not.  Act of god just means the owner of the tree isnt held liable for it falling.  Since it wasnt his fault it fell.  If the owner was warned to take it down b/c its dead and is a danger and fails to do so, then at that point he can now be liable since its no longer an act of god, it was dead and someone didnt do what they needed to do to midigate possible future dmg.

  2. It would have to go under you insurance since it fell on your prop.  You could sue him, but unless the tree was deemed dead and unsafe ahead of time he is prob not liable.

Chances are its under your deductible, but you should get an estimate then call the insurance co just to ask.  It USUALLY doesnt go on your record if you are just calling to ask about coverage.  If they say they need to open a claim to have an adjuster look at it, then yes it WILL go on your record.

You should 1st go to your neighbor to see if they will foot the bill or at least split it with you.

  3. Yeah the U/W has a mandatory $500 deductible, so def take them to court.  Problem is you cant get blood out of a rock.  They are on medicade for a reason...

Good luck sir.  Any other advise or help LMK...

  4. I have collision and comp on the family cars.  Do I need to check with NJM to ensure it includes uninsured?  I'm getting concerned as well with the growing number of illegals in my town who are likely to skip any coverage at all and I'd be stuck for the $500 deductible.

OT, but i always got a kick driving through that area on the way to the range.  Always reminded me of that art heist movie with Pierce Brosnan with 20 black-coated doubles wandering around the museum.  Thomas Crown Affair, I think.

If you have a "standard" policy, it has to come with it.  Just check your declarations page, it will show the coverage listed right there along with the rest..

Ok, I'm confused then. Presumably it doesn't cover collision, it doesn't cover liability so .. what does it cover? Or is it just tax on the poor that lets them drive uninsured?

It only covers their own medical bills.  Its pointless b/c medicade would pay anyway.  Its like a bad joke among us insurance professionals.  Best thing is (as evidenced in this thread) if they hit you you cant claim it through their liability so you end up paying a $500 deductible and having to claim it on your own policy.  Its pretty f'd up.

  6. As an insurance agent, a few things at play here and some of these answers you are getting are making my head hurt.

Since they KNOW who it was that hit you, you dont need collision coverage on your policy to have it covered.  If it turns out they didnt have insurance then you can claim it through your under/un-insured coverage.  (thats if you have a standard policy with U/W coverage, if you have a basic policy w/ no U/W coverage then you are screwed).

If they ran, and you didnt catch them, then yes you would need to have it claimed through collision coverage.  But thats not the case here.

I think you should go back to the police to find out why they didnt charge him with a hit and run.  You have every rite to do that.  Also make sure when you get the police report its 100% accurate as to what you believe happened.

Edit: Dollar-a-day is for people on medi-cade (low income) and has NO LIABILITY coverage believe it or not (but still legal...yeah doesnt make sense.. typical shit) .   You should still be able to claim under your own U/W coverage.

  7. Thread about an acive case in a US hopital?  Sorry it was new news and I didnt see it in my "unread threads" area.   What exactly do you mean feelings dont enter into it?  I didnt realize we were robots with no feels about a situation.

  8. How do you guys (and girls) feel about this?  Anyone doing any additional preparations?  I know its very unlikely that there will be a wide-spread pandemic here b/c of how it spreads and our infrastructure. Its just a little scary that a person that flew here from Africa and showed signs of being sick was sent home for days from the hospital.  In the mean-time, this person now came into contact with a ton of other people, health professionals, the ambulance, you name it.

  9. Question for you guys.  I may have a connection on whole sale vapes, e-liq, and accessories.  I am thinking about setting up an online store initially and also start selling locally (maybe at auctions on small store-front type situation) would anyone be interested in ordering from me if this transpires as I hope?  Ill keep you guys updated after I speak with the whole sale supplier again.  Not sure at this point what I will be stocking but will update with that info later on...

Also, it would help if anyone can list favorite brands and juices I should try to stock.  I admit, I dont know much about this stuff (i know a little about vapes, but the e-juice im not very knowledgable about) so Its also a bit of a learning experience for me as well.

    thanks
